Classic Christianity – Book of Hebrews P116 (06-10-24)

People Want to Hear The Lies of Satan, Rather Than to Be Taught By God Himself

~ Most still do not understand the Truth of the word of God. They give lip service to everything they read, from Genesis through the book of Revelation. They have NOT exercised Faith. They are so intent on listening to the teaching of Man, instead of being taught directly by the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit does live in you, we are told we have the mind of Christ, yet people don’t want to listen to Him speak. I am speaking to you now, child of the living God. For we who are in Christ Jesus all have the same Spirit alive living in us, to teach us Truth. And Truth does NOT change, and it is NOT dependent on whether we like it or not. Truth always divides. Yet we run to a pastor or teacher to get our questions answered, when we really should be talking directly to God Himself. You can’t get any closer to God than He that is in You! And yet we act just like the Israelites of old, where they wanted to hear Moses speak to them instead of God himself. And this is NOT just pertaining to salvation, but to every single situation in Life. We are in a time a GREAT deception, more so than ever before, where Satan has deceived the nations to a degree of unimaginable proportions. For example, people are so into politics, as though this person or that person is going to save America. It’s all Satan’s show. Quit listening to it. Quit turning into the Tell-a-Vision for programming your mind. Quit listening to the talking heads filling your mind up with clutter, so that you can hardly hear the Holy Spirit speaking directly to you. Quit putting people on idol pedestals thinking they have the answers, either from God, or for this world, or even for America. And make no mistake about it, we ALL have had our idols on a pedestal at one time or another. It’s easy to see someone’s idol, for when you touch upon it, they scream bloody murder. And it is easy for you to identify your own idols too, have someone say something bad about a person that you respect (or think is more highly than they are), or some well known singer, movie star, sports personality, political figure and you will get mad as a hornet, regardless of the Truth or Lies having being taught by that person.

And make no mistake about it, we were all taught lies. We trusted in the teaching of man instead of God. Many of us grew up in some type of religious institutional church, where we were brainwashed on the lies of Satan from birth. And Satan’s lies of the world were also passed on from birth onward. Nothing is as it seems. And yet we too, passed on Satan’s lies down to our children. It’s time to break free of the lies. And there is only one way to break free of that. Trust in NO Man, not even yourself for proper understanding, only TRUST in GOD, who is the only TRUSTWORTHY ONE. Those with eyes to see can see, and those with ears to hear can hear. If you lack wisdom to see, ask for wisdom directly from God, and He will give it abundantly to you in increasing measures, WITHOUT Finding Fault. Ask and it shall be given unto you. Do you want to know TRUTH? Ask Him to reveal it to you. Do you want to know the Truth of the world we live in? Do you want to know the Truth of everything? Why are you scared? Fear comes from Satan, NOT God. Enter today, into the peace that passes all understanding.

~ Hebrews 12:14-29

Pursue peace with everyone, as well as holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and that no root of bitterness springs up to cause trouble and defile many. See to it that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected. He could find no ground for repentance, though he sought the blessing with tears.

For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom, and storm; to a trumpet blast or to a voice that made its hearers beg that no further word be spoken. For they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” The sight was so terrifying that even Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”

Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to myriads of angels in joyful assembly, to the congregation of the firstborn, enrolled in heaven. You have come to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if the people did not escape when they refused Him who warned them on earth, how much less will we escape if we reject Him who warns us from heaven? At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth, but heaven as well.”The words “Once more” signify the removal of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that the unshakable may remain.

Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. “For our God is a consuming fire.”Hebrews 12:14-29

Pray to God:

“Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ “Now, this was the case with the Israelites. And so he’s talking about we’ve got a brand new inheritance, we have a brand new says, Don’t be godless, like he thought realize what your birthright is. You’ve come to a mountain, it says, You have not come to a mountain that can be touched, and that is burning with fire, to darkness to gloom to storm. You haven’t been called to that kind of a mountain, to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word would be spoken to them, because they couldn’t bear what was commanded. Even if an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned. The site was so terrifying that Moses said, I am trembling with fear. Now let’s turn back to Exodus for a moment the book of Exodus chapter 20. Let’s go to verse nine or chapter 19, rather, beginning in verse 12. So just go to verse 10. And the Lord said to Moses, Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, have them wash their clothes and be ready on the third day because on that day, the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. Put limits on the people around the mountain and tell them Be careful that you do not go up to the mountain or touch the foot of it. Whoever touches the mountain so surely be put to death, he shall surely be stoned or shot with arrows, not a hand is to be laid on him, whether man or animal he should not be permitted to live. Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast, may they go up to the mountain. After Moses had gone down the mountain to the people, he consecrated and washed their clothes, and he said to the people, prepare yourselves for the third day and abstain from sexual relations. On the morning of the third day, there was thunder and lightning, a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast, and everyone in the camp trembled. And then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain, Mount Sinai was covered with smoke. Because the Lord descended on it in fire, the smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, the whole mountain trembled violently. And the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder. And then Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him, the Lord descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain. So Moses went up and the Lord said to him, go down and warn the people. So they do not force their way through to sea, the Lord and many of them perish. Even the priests who approach the Lord must consecrate themselves or the Lord will break out against them. Moses said to the Lord, the people cannot come up to Mount Sinai because you yourself warned us put limits around the mountain and set it apart as holy. And the Lord replied, Go down and bring Aaron up with you. But the priests and the people must not forced their way through to come up to the Lord, or he’ll break out against them. And so Moses went down to the people, and he told them and the Lord spoke all of these words. He said, I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt and out of the land of slavery, is talking to the Israelites. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or to form anything in heaven, above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them for I the LORD your God, I am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of their fathers to the third and fourth generation to those who hate me, but showing love to 1000 generations to those who love Me and keep My commandments. You shall not miss use the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses the name. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all of your work, but the seventh is the Sabbath to the Lord your God. And on it you shall not do any work, neither you nor your son or daughter, nor your man servant, or your maid servant, nor your animals, nor alien with your gates. For in the six days the LORD made the heavens, the sea of the earth, and the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. And therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land and the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his maid servant, or man servant, or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor. And when people saw the thunder and the lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear, and they stayed at a distance. And they said to Moses, speak to us yourself, and we’ll listen. But don’t have God speak to us or we’ll die. Still the same thing today isn’t it? Moses, you can speak to us but I don’t want to hear God. Let some man tell me something but boy, God don’t tell me.” ~ Bob George

Now guys in this world in which we live is God initiated government. Government is for the benefit of the whole, we’ll see that in a moment as God gave the 10 commandments to people to nations. It’s for the benefit of the whole. And you have when you have leaders and rulers, they are to be there for the benefit of the whole. And the reason for that is you don’t need laws to ensure that we all think about ourselves, do we? I mean, can you imagine a law I got a law there that you got to think about yourself? Hardly so. So the you don’t need laws for that. We’re all thinking about ourselves. And we’re all looking out for the best interests of me. That’s why there’s so many of these special interest groups in a country is because everyone’s looking out for me and my rights and me. So government had to be set up to look out for the benefit of the whole. Now you bring that down as an example to a family unit. And you take a family, let’s say of 10 it is the that’s what God assigned just like he assigned people who are rulers, and he said those people are not your enemies. He also assigned in the home for the man to be on the family, the one who is to be looking out for the benefit of the whole, obviously, he’s looking at after himself. But he says yours also to be looking at for the benefit of the family. And again, you don’t have to see the confusion, my friends that can take place in what’s taking place as an example, in a nation, same thing took place in a nation of Israel, just break it down to a family of 10 or 12, or whatever you want to. And if you got into a family where the father ceased to be, or the head ceased to be the controlling factor, that he was the one who was assigned to look out for the benefit of the whole. And all of a sudden, he was just a pawn in the whole, while you can see what’s going to happen to a family. And so one of the kids come up and says, Hey, I don’t like what’s going on here. You know, my, my older brother there, he’s 16, he gets to drive a car and, and I’m only 12. But I got my rights, and I want to drive a car. And so the next thing you know, the car’s gone, he says, I got my rights, and I got my rights. And before long, you’ve got turmoil in that family, don’t you? You see, all it takes to mess up a family is one rebel, and no ruler, and you got a problem. And so when we live in it in how we live today, you’ve got to live, society has to live under laws. If man wasn’t sinful, that wouldn’t necessarily be the case, we could just listen to God and what He says. But because we are sinful, and because we are selfish, because we all are like sheep who have gone astray, and each one wants to do his own thing. That’s where you have to have organization, and laws and government in order to govern and control the desires of the flesh of man. And whenever we allow the desires of the flesh of man to control the good of the whole, you’ve lost a family, you’ve lost a nation, it’s just that simple. A family can’t survive with no leadership in it. A family cannot survive with every kid up demanding his own way. A family can only survive when he realizes there is a head that God is put there to determine what is the benefit of a whole thank God, you’ve got a wife there to help with that process. And to realize that we’re you have adults and children that the children do not rule the adults, it’s the other way. And there is a downward trust of authority that must take place in a family, if a family is going to survive. And when the and when the man will not take that leadership, the family falters. And when a kid demands his own ways and gets it, the family will also falter. Now in as much as you’ve got kids like you do people in a country who are demanding and we have placed that demands its own way, are you ever going to alleviate those kinds of demands? Of course not. That’s why you have to have someone strong at the top to say, we’re not doing it that way. And the kid says I’m going out and the father says no, you’re not. And he says, Yes, I am. He said what do you do when you get in between him and the door. And if you got to wrassling to the floor, you’re wrestling to the floor, if that’s your decision, and he didn’t go on out. And the reason you have rebellious kids today, just like you had back in those days of Esau on them is because of weakness on the part of adults who are scared to death to take the authority that God gave them in order to say, I am the one who’s going to determine what is right and wrong for this home. Now i a home. It’s just like an a government or a government was built this government was built on the basis out of the Bible with the judicial system, your legislative system and your executive. It’s like a three prong stool. And every one of those branches is like a prong you take one of them out, the stool falls over. And it’s the same thing in a family. You’ve got the you’ve got the man who has been put in charge of a family and he’s got a position he’s got a right and a position there to exercise for the benefit of the good of that family. You’ve also got your legislative and you’ve got your wife in there, you’ve got your consideration and it’s not the case that you’re sitting there saying, I am the ruler. The job of the husband is to consult when it comes to the kids and that type of thing. There wasn’t anyone who knew more about my kids. meaning she was with him more than I was. And so if I want to know something about the kids, that’s who I went to consult with. But the decision I had to finally make that decision was very seldom ever in contrast to what she was recommending, because she knew when the decision was made, it was my job to carry it out. And that’s the function in a family. And it’s the function of a man and you got a weak man in a family, you’re certainly not going to have weak kids. I’ve had kids sometimes say, Oh, I’m weak, say, you’re not weak, you’re strong as horseradish, you’re the stubbornest person, I know, you are strong, you’re not weak, you’re strong, you want to fulfill the desires, your flesh, more than anybody I know. That’s strong, that’s not weak, it’s strong. And that’s why somebody in a friend, the process of a home, and that is the father’s role has got to sit down and say, no that it’s not the way it’s gonna be. And it’s the same way in a country. So laws had to be established for the benefit of the whole. And that’s why God gave them to us. But in the meantime, and what the book of Hebrews is dealing with here is, in the meantime, within the confines of a country, there are people that don’t need to be led by the law, because they’re going to be led internally by something greater than the law.

Now, this was the case with the Israelites. Bob George 14:22
And the people remained at a distance while Moses approach the thick darkness where God was. Then the Lord said to Moses, tell the Israelites this. You have seen for yourself that I’ve spoken to you from heaven. Don’t make any gods to be alongside me. Do not make for yourself gods of silver or gods of gold. Make an altar of Earth for me and sacrifice on it your burned offerings and fellowship offerings, which is your peace offerings, your sheep, your goats and your cattle. Whenever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you. If you make an altar of stones for me, don’t build it with dress stones for you to defile it, if you use a tool on it, and don’t go up to my altar on steps or your nakedness be exposed on it. These are the laws that you were set before them there again, he started to set laws and we had, how you deal with your servants. He set laws on personal injury, he set laws on the protection of your property. He said laws on social responsibility, laws on justice and mercy, laws on Sabbath. Laws on festivals, laws on all of these things. And folks, every bit of this, we are told to the scripture was a foreshadowing of the reality that was to come. But it was the laws that kept the whole intact. If the laws were given for the nations in order to keep them intact, and to set them apart from all other people on the earth, these were laws given to the Israelites that when kept, set them apart from all other people on the face of the earth.

Now let’s turn back a minute into what he’s talking about here in Hebrews. Now, that was the law. And so if a person is saying I want to be under the law, that’s the kind of law that you’re talking about being under including all of those other laws that we didn’t have time to get into. And he is saying to us, if you haven’t come to this mountain, that was a mountain, Mount Sinai, that was a mountain. And it was a place where God gave the laws to his people. But it says in the book of Hebrews that we’ve studied, God found fault with who? With his people. He didn’t fault with the laws, the laws were good, it’s the only way to keep society in check. But man couldn’t keep it. And so he says, verse 22, but contrast, you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, to, the city of the living God, you have come to 1000s upon 1000s of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven, you have come to God, the Judge of all men, to the spirits of the righteous man made perfect to Jesus, the mediator of a New Covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel, the blood of Abel crying out in revenge to the murderer by his brother, this is a better crying out of blood, it was blood that was shed by Jesus that wasn’t crying out for revenge, but blood that cried out for mercy. You and I have come to a new mountain. It’s not Mount Sinai. People will say, Well, when we died to the law, was it the 10 commandments? Or was it these ceremony? It was all of it, the issue is you don’t go to Mount Sinai at all. We’ve come to something new, you’ve come to Mount Zion. If you and I are in Christ, today, we’ve come to a new agreement, whereby we come as a says to the mediator to Jesus, who is a mediator of a New Covenant, a brand New Covenant.

Now turn back with me to a moment to the book of Galatians. I want us to pick up we’ve gone through this before. But I want to see, I want you to see it again. In in the fourth chapter of the book of Galatians, beginning of verse 21. Guys, can we see here just for a minute. The laws that were given by God can curtail up to a point, humanity. But it cannot change the heart. It can take care of society. But it can’t take care of a heart. Again, it’s like a family. The rule of a father and a mother can curtail some of the activity of a kid. But the rule of the father and mother cannot change the heart of the kid. You can curtail activity, but you can’t change your heart. And so God is pointing out here in this whole thing that yes, there were laws that were given to follow so that society doesn’t annihilate itself. And I will tell you, folks when society stops paying attention to those laws of God, it’s a goner, too, as far as the country is concerned, but within that country are people. They’re called a remnant like you and me. And what he is saying to this remnant is yes, there is the law. But I’ve put you under something better than that. I put you under something better than that I came to change your heart. And so a man then comes down and says, once again, I don’t want my heart change I want to be are those laws. You know, I can see those laws, even though I can’t obey them. Isn’t it amazing? The most stringent people, the people that are just oh, just like this about the law, their not obeying them. That’s what Jesus said, You’re a bunch of hypocrites. They will come down and talk about oh, oh I’ll obey the law mean as a hoarder at home. Never enters their mind that being mean and vindictive and miserable is saying, Oh, that’s not saying the filthy five. And the ones that don’t do are what sin is. Sin is what I don’t do, that other stuff or just kind of, you know, some other kind of stuff. Never thinks about worry, oh, come on. I worry. Come on. Well, no, that’s not sin, adultery, sin, don’t do that same worries. I don’t know what to call it something else. Healthy concerning. So we all of these, all of these things about the law. And he said, Wait a minute, you shouldn’t be involved in these things. This is not the mindset to be thinking about. The issue is I’ve set you free from that so that you can live in the newness of life that is yours through Christ Jesus. It’s something brand new. And so Paul is going back to the very same example that the author of Hebrews was giving. And he said, Tell me, those of you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman, and another by the free woman, the son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way. But the son by the free woman was born as a result of the promise. In other words, there was nothing out of the ordinary at all, the way that Ishmael was born, he was born very naturally. These things may be taken figuratively for the woman represents two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai, and it bears children who are to be slaves. That was Ishmael. Hagar’s son, same father, but they were born to be slaves. And he says, this represents Hagar. Now, Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem because she is in slavery with her children. But Jerusalem that is above, that’s what he’s talking about on here. You’re not coming to Mount Sinai, but to a heavenly Jerusalem. We just talked about that Hebrews is bouncing right back here. But the Jerusalem that is above is free. And she is our mother. For it is written, Be glad oh barren woman who bears no children break forth and cry aloud, you have no labor pains, because more are the children of the desolate woman. Then of her who has a husband. Now it says like you brothers, like Isaac are children of a promise, you’re under a different covenant. You’re under a New Covenant. Not under the cabinet of Mount Sinai, you’ve come to a different mountain at this time, the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit, the illegitimate, the law, persecute, persecutes the freedom and the grace. Is that true today? Always will be true. The child of the law will always be involved in persecuting the child and the free. You live in a home where one person understands his freedom in Christ and other person, other persons under the law, you’re going to find the person on the law beating the daylights out of the one to do grace, not vice versa.

Because the child of the law is that emnity with the child of grace, you’re an enemy in your own camp. In the same way now that says what’s the scripture say? You know what it says get rid of the slave woman and her son. So you can see Sarah, somebody say, Hey, Sarah, you know, you can’t live in this family. I mean, you and Hagar can’t survive in the same family. I mean, Abraham was the father of my children, father of yours and we can’t live in the same house. Say, I can figure that out. Where that’d be a little problem. So you can understand get rid of the slave woman. But how about the son said Get rid of him too. You get rid of all of it. It’s what Jesus said a speck of leaven will spoil the whole loaf. Remember when they came? Whenever the Lord said, Kill everything, animals and everything came back and said, Here I am. Lord said you kill everything. Oh, yeah. And then you hear the bleeping back in the back. Sheep. Said, Well, hey, what I hear? Hear a sheep bleep. Who’s that? Well, that was a sheep. I said, Kill everything. Oh, yeah, but these were good ones. I mean, I saved the best for you, Lord. So I didn’t tell you to save any time I told you to kill them all. When you let live what I say to kill, what you let live will kill you. And so he said to get rid of the slave woman and her son for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance of the free woman’s son. And therefore brothers, we are not children of the slave woman. But we’re children of the free woman. You’re no longer under the law. You’re under the grace of God. You haven’t come to Mount Sinai, you’ve come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, to the city of the living God to the 1000s upon 1000s of angels joyfully assembled to the church of the Firstborn to God, to a better covenant that was brought into effect by the Lord Jesus.

Jesus Came to Save Sinners

Listen to the Salvation message today!

Stand on the firmness of truth. Don’t keep going back and forth. Thank Him that the forgiveness issue is settled.

Let’s pray together:

  • Lord Jesus,
  • I thank you for taking away my sins on the cross,
  • never ever to see them again.
  • Having done that, I now thank you for giving me eternal life,
  • through your resurrection.
  • I now receive that life.
  • And I am going stand in the fact that I am a child of the living God.
  • In Jesus Holy name I pray.
  • Amen

All believers are now brothers and sisters in Christ.
