If You Are in Christ Jesus, You Have Been Sanctified By Him
~ “And by that will, we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews 10:10
When a person accepts Jesus by Faith, the Holy Spirit places them into the body of Christ, and has made them holy, setup apart, sanctified directly by God to be used for His good purpose. No one sanctifies themselves. No one makes themselves holy. No one makes themselves set apart. Jesus does it all. And that is key for us to understand how we are to operate today. We live by Faith from first to last. God made us a part of His body right exactly where we are at. He is using each of us, for the purpose He has assigned for us. Once we understand that we are His body, and are directed directly by Him, that frees us up to not have to worry about how it will all work out. Because everything is in His hands, not ours. So remember this, we are His sanctified holy ones not because of what we do or don’t do, but because of what He made us, a child of the Living God. So be who you are, and learn to listen to Him. And remember, Jesus name is TRUTH.
“Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.” John 17:17
…..
And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.
~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12
~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26
—
We who are strong ought to bear with the shortcomings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it is written: “The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.” For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.
Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you harmony with one another in Christ Jesus, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring glory to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written:
“Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles;
I will sing hymns to Your name.”
Again, it says:
“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people.”
And again:
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles,
and extol Him, all you peoples.”
And once more, Isaiah says:
“The Root of Jesse will appear,
One who will arise to rule over the Gentiles;
in Him the Gentiles will put their hope.”
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, brimming with knowledge, and able to instruct one another. However, I have written you a bold reminder on some points, because of the grace God has given me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore I exult in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
In this way I have aspired to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. Rather, as it is written:
“Those who were not told about Him will see,
and those who have not heard will understand.”
That is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.
But now that there are no further opportunities for me in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to visit you, I hope to see you on my way to Spain. And after I have enjoyed your company for a while, you can equip me for my journey.
Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem to serve the saints there. For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem. They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual blessings, they are obligated to minister to them with material blessings.
So after I have completed this service and have safely delivered this bounty to them, I will set off to Spain by way of you. I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.
Now I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Pray that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there, so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed.
The God of peace be with all of you. Amen. Romans 15:1-33
Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
~ “And there’s your problem, folks, is the emphasis, the emphasis you see, the Christian world knows as an example, Jesus was raised from the dead, but we don’t put an emphasis there. We put the emphasis on the cross, even though Paul said, without the resurrection, we’re to be pitied, of all people and are still in our sins. But we put the emphasis in wrong place. So we put the emphasis on what we’re doing instead of what he has done. And the minute you do that, you’re off. Are you not? And so he’s saying, You got to be on guard, guys. You got to guard your mind. And he said, remember that for three years, I never stopped warning each of you, day and night with tears. And a lot of times when you warn people, they get mad at you. But now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace. Here again, the word of His grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance, inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Now again, guys sanctified does not mean you walk around with your Bible under your arm, with your head tilted and looking sick at your stomach. That is not what it means to be sanctified. The word sanctified is a very practical word it means to be used for the intelligent purpose for which God created you. That light bulb is being sanctified right now. It’s being used to create light in this room. If you have a wrist watch on and you’re looking to see what time it is which some of you I’ve seen doing, you are sanctifying your watch. You’re using it for the purpose for which it was created. You got shoes on, I’m grateful for that, and you’re sanctifying your shoes. You’re using them for the intent for which they were manufactured. That’s what Sanctification means. It doesn’t mean to walk around acting holy. It means to be who you are. If you’ve gone to medical school and have your degree, what do you do? Go be a doctor, then what are you doing, sanctifying yourself. You’re you’re doing what you were educated to do.” ~ Bob George

And there’s your problem, folks, is the emphasis, the emphasis you see, the Christian world knows as an example, Jesus was raised from the dead, but we don’t put an emphasis there. You’re you’re doing what you were educated to do.
So he’s saying here, I commit to you, to God and to the word of His grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance, inheritance among all of those who are set apart. Now, what sets us apart as Christians? What is it that sets us apart? First of all, who we’re in dwelt by, and that’s Jesus. Does that set you apart from the people who aren’t indwelt with Jesus? Absolutely. Then when you know the Word of God, does that set you apart from the world? The world doesn’t think like you. Am I right or wrong? And if the world ever starts thinking like you, you better check it out what you’re thinking, because I’ll guarantee you you’re not. You’re not thinking the thoughts of God, if the world and you are thinking alike. So you’re going to think different. Why are you going to think different? Because you know what truth is. Where did you learn it? From a Hebrew, from the Apostle Paul, from Peter, from the Word of God. Isn’t that great? And they taught us what truth is over and against error. And so we know what truth is. We can’t always obey truth. Can we, or do all of you obey truth 100%? I don’t think so. But we know what it is, don’t we? And that’s why, when you don’t obey truth, the Spirit of God lives in you, saying, uh oh, how many have ever had that? Lord said, Bob, what’d you do that for? You know? Or why are you thinking this? I mean, because what you do is a result of what you’re thinking. Why are you thinking with these dumb thoughts when I’ve given you my very mind inside of you, that you have the mind of Christ living in you, why are you thinking with your own mind when you could be thinking with mine? You know, it doesn’t make sense, does it? But do we do it? Do we? Yeah, that’s why he calls his sheep dumbest animal on the face of the earth. The leader goes walks over a cliff. They’ll just go walk right after him. We’re the same way, and that’s why he’s guarding us all the time. Be on your guard. You’ve got to guard folks. We have to guard our minds, because Satan is always there. Is he not bombarding our minds with error? You can’t watch television without finding out exactly what Satan is thinking, because most of it, it’s bombarding your mind with error. And if you don’t know what truth is, that’s the only thing you got to grab a hold of, is error, because you got to think something. And so we get our heads full of error, and then God has to come in and push all of that stuff out so the as you become a Christian, and you begin to renew your mind, which is what he says, Don’t be conformed to the world, but transformed by the renewing of the mind. The renewing of the mind is taking in truth, and when you take in truth, it pushes out the error. You suddenly realize, I cannot believe this and this.
When I first came to understand the grace of God. And I can remember Ed Hecht, and I because I was teaching this to the group of people in Bible study, and and all of a sudden I would hear him say something that was just dumb. And I’d say, Ed, did you hear what you just said? And he had looked and said, Yeah, that isn’t truth. Is it? No, it isn’t. And I felt so good about myself. Then about 10 minutes later, he’d said, you hear what you just said, Bob? And because I had a lot of legalistic not a lot of legalism, but I had legalism. And I had legalistic thoughts, some legalistic thoughts that came from my teaching in the denomination, and they were still there. They hadn’t been pushed out yet. And you know, guys, when you’re not really thinking, you’re just talking, you know how that goes.
I always think of a story that my dad told my dad was an attorney in Indiana, and people from Indiana are funny anyway, and you got some characters there. Maybe I’m one of them, I don’t know, but there was a lawyer there that they used to meet every Wednesday for lunch. All the lawyers would get together and just have fun together. And there was this one lawyer who had a brother who was, in fact, they were, they were two brothers at had a brother that was kind of simple minded, and he used to show up for the luncheons too. He loved to be around everybody. And so happened to my dad was going to have a trial against these two brothers, and so this kind of simple minded guy was sitting there, and he’s talking, and he said, you know, Franklin, he said, you don’t have a chance of winning that trial, Franklin, my dad, my dad said, Well, that’s interesting. Why do you say that? Well, he said, it’s real simple. And he said there’s two of them, only one of you. Dad said, Well, what’s that got to do with it? Oh he said that’s very simple. He said, When clams up and talking, Jeb sitting there thinking. And when Jeb is up at talking, Clem sitting there thinking, but when you’re up at talking, there ain’t nobody thinking. So that’s kind of the way we are. We talk a lot of times, and maybe there isn’t anybody thinking.
But you know, when you’re really not thinking and you’re talking, you just drag up what you’ve been taught. And that’s exactly that’s why you can hear guys ministers who really have started getting a real good grasp on the grace of God, but they still got a bunch of garbage in there. And we’ll preach about a 20 minute marvelous message on Grace, one of the best you’ve ever heard, and then negate it in last five minutes. Have you ever heard that? All they’re doing is just digging up their old teaching? And they’ve thought through part of it, but they didn’t think through the last part of it. So they just rely upon what they rely upon. And so I’ve told people, and I said, You’ve got to squeeze, like you squeeze all the tooth paste out of a tube. You’ve got to squeeze it all out. And I think that’s what God’s in the process of doing, is just squeezing out the law that’s in there and the error that’s in your head. He just has to squeeze that out until there’s nothing left. That takes time, but that’s his goal for you and me, is to push out the error so that we can be sanctified, set apart by what we know to be true and proponents of what we know to be true.
So he says, Be on guard. Remember that for three years, I never stopped warning each of you, day and night with tears, and now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourself know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions, and in everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus himself when he said it’s more blessed to give than to receive.
Now, folks, there again, Jesus said it’s more blessed to give than to receive. We kind of have a philosophy. It’s more blessed to receive than to give, don’t we, and we talk about what all of God has done for us and this type of thing. But are we givers and and I’m not talking about just financial givers. Are we givers of ourselves to people? Do we reach out to help people. Do? Do we have that attitude that if somebody’s in trouble or go to them to help them, that if I know that somebody’s hurting, do I want to be a comfort to them? And I know a lot of people like that that have been given that gift of servitude, and if you and I will observe them and watch them, we will learn from them how to use that gift. We may not have that gift, but the reason God gives gifts to the body of Christ is to encourage the body of Christ and so that we can learn from one another. You may not have the gift of teaching, but if you listen to someone who does, you will learn how to teach the Word of God to others. Even though you may not have the gift, you will be able to communicate it. I may not have the gift of giving, but if I will observe someone with the gift of giving and watch the faithfulness of God in their lives as they are giving, I can begin to look at that and say, I think I can step out a little bit in faith and become a giver. If I see someone who has the gift of encouragement, and that’s the opposite of having someone with the gift of discouragement, that I can watch people with the gift of encouragement and see the benefit of their gift to the body of Christ, to see how this person with this gift of encouragement, what it does to the body, and how it builds up the body and it makes people feel good, and begin to say, you know, I need to learn from that person, because all of those gifts are necessary. And the reason God gives a special gift to each and every one of you is to use that for the purpose of the body being able to observe you, not only be blessed by you, but observe you and learn how to function with that gift. And so it’s an attitude of reaching out to people, of when a person is hurting, hurt with them. And a lot of times, God uses experiences that we have to bring compassion. Many of you have been through terrible trials and tribulations in your life. Am I right or wrong on that you’ve been through things, and we’ve been through things that we hope nobody knows about except God, and we’ve been through things that we’re ashamed of. Am I right or wrong? Can’t can? Is there anyone in here that’s never done anything to be ashamed of? No hands. I guess that puts us all. I think we all can catch I think we can all put Bob. Did you have some? Did you have somebody except, except George? Pointing at George, yeah, but we all are in that category. And the issue is we can either look at that like a woe is me, or we can look at that is God has built compassion in me. Some of you have been through some terrible crisis with the death of loved ones, or whatever it might be, and you’ve been comforted by the grace of God. Why did he do that? Well, number one, he wanted to comfort you, but number two, he doesn’t want you to stop there. He wants you to be a comfort to others who are going through the same problems as you’ve gone through. Because who’s going to be in a better position to reach out with that kind of comfort than someone who’s been through it.

Bob George 14:32
When you’ve been through cancer as an example and God has has put that in remission or healed you, you’re in a great position of reaching out to other people who are sick like this, and to be an encouragement to them. And that’s what God wants. He doesn’t want us to be an island unto ourselves. He wants us to be willing to reach out to the world around us. Some of you have been through divorce. You know the heartache of that, and you know how that tears you up and tears up fam. And tears up all kinds of things, and you’re in a position, because you’ve been through it, you’re in a position to reach out to others who have been through it with the comfort that you’ve received from God. And that’s the whole idea of experience that we have, is to take that experience and to use it to reach out to others, because if you’ve been through that, you’ve had a heartache, and so is somebody else going through it with a heartache, and it gives you the compassion to reach out and to say, I know how you feel, but let me tell you what God did my life, and what he’s doing in my life. And so everything that he’s saying to to us is, is, is for the for the purpose of of giving. It’s more blessed to give out than to receive. And if I’ve received encouragement and help from somebody, I appreciate that very much. But how much more is it for me when I take that and pass it on to somebody else and see the results of that.
And so that’s what Paul is saying, is help the weak. We got people around us that need help. Remembering the words of the Lord, it’s more blessed to give than to receive. Another way in which we do that is is in in giving out, giving of our resources for the purpose of getting out the Gospel. And that’s important too. And there are people who literally will go to a church setting or to an assembly and never give a dime of their resources. And that should not be. It should not be. I’m not saying you should be tithing, but I’m saying everyone should be giving, because we’re blessed and we should give. So if we’re stopping and just being blessed, we’re like the Dead Sea, we’re just going to sit there and stagnate. But if we take what we’ve received and say, No, I’m going to give back so that more people can receive. We get blessed with that. Now, if you’re not doing that, you need to learn to and God’s going to teach you to say no to the unrighteous feeling of hanging on to everything you got. And so step out by faith. There comes a point of stepping out by faith, it comes out and said, Well, I don’t know anything about this. Nor does that mean that if I give, God’s going to bless me. No, that does not mean that God’s already blessed you. Yeah, so you don’t give to get blessed. You’re you’re blessed out of your socks right now. So he said, So you, you give because you are blessed. And so step out in faith. And I encourage people to do that. It may be $5 if it is nothing wrong with $5 whatever it might be, start learning to give of your resources, whatever you feel comfortable in doing. Why? Because you’re you’re blessed, because God has blessed you. And you know, we can say, well, yeah, but I give them my time, well, I give them my time too, and so does Bob Christopher, and so does other staff members. But we also give her resources. We give a lot of our resources. Why? Because we believe in what we’re doing, and we believe in this message, and we believe that this message has to get out into this legalistic world in which we live today. Folks, if you really could take a look at just the bondage that the average church member is in today, it would break your heart, because it’s there, and all of the distortion of teaching that is out there today, it breaks your heart. And so if we’re going to get a message out, it has to be supported. And that’s what he’s saying. It’s more blessed to give than to receive.
Now when he had said this, Paul, it said that he knelt down with them, and they all prayed together, and they all wept as they embraced the Apostle Paul and kissed him. What grieved them the most was his statement that they would never see his face again. And then they accompanied him to the ship. Paul said after we had torn ourselves away from them, this would have been such an emotional time of being with these people that you had led to the Lord and grew in the Lord and and loved in the Lord. And here you were saying to them, somewhat similar to what Jesus said when he was saying, I’m going away. You can imagine the response of the apostles. What do you mean, Lord, you’re going away. Yeah, I’m going away. But he said it’s good for you that I do go away, because when I do, I’m going to send my Spirit to live in you. We will still have a communication with each other, but it won’t be eyeball to eyeball. It’ll be spiritual. And I imagine that was very difficult for the apostles. For the apostles to think that here, this man that I love more than life itself is going away, and in essence, we’re going to be by ourselves. But Jesus said, No, you’re not. I’ll be with you. But still the physical presence, it’s like the loss of a loved one that has died. You know, they’re in heaven. You know there’s a communication, but they’re not here, and because of that, you miss them. And so he was saying to them that this emotional deal was there. And Paul was basically saying somewhat the same thing to these people in Ephesus, that I’m going away and you’re never going to see me again. So he said, after we had torn ourselves away from them, we put out to sea and sailed straight to Kos and the next day we went to Rodays, and from there to Petra. And we found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, and went on board and set sail. And after siding Cyprus and pressing on to the south of that, we sailed on to Syria, very countries we’re very familiar with today. And we landed at tyre where ships was to unload its cargo, finding the disciples there, we stayed with them for seven days and through the Spirit. Now look at this, folks. Then we’re going to close in a minute. Look here through the Spirit, they urged Paul not to go to Jerusalem. Now, what would be your normal interpretation of that? The what? Through the Spirit, it sound like it’s saying, God’s telling you not to go, wouldn’t it? And this is the second time that he’s been warned there not to go. But it says, through the Spirit, they urged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. But did Paul pay attention to this? You see again, the Spirit had urged, had told Paul, had he not? The Spirit already told Paul, you’re gonna run into problems there. So that’s why the people were urging him not to go to Jerusalem. They had a clue as to what was waiting for him. And so the spirit was merely saying to them, I believe the same thing that the spirit was saying to Paul, and that is, you’re going to run into trial and tribulation and arrest and everything else there. So what would be your natural thing to do? Say, don’t go. But Paul knew better.
But when our time was up, he said, we left and continued our way, and all the disciples and their wives and children accompanied us out of the city, and there on the beach, we knelt to pray. And after saying goodbye to each other, we went aboard the ship, and they all returned home, I’m sure, very sadly. And then it talks out that how he continued his village, or his journey and went on to Caesarea and stayed with Philip and the evangelist, the evangelist and he had four unmarried daughters, he says, who prophesied. And after we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Abacus came down from Judea. Now look what she did, coming over to us. He took Paul’s he took Paul’s hands, he tied his hands and feet with it. Took a belt and tied his hands and feet with it. And he said, The Holy Spirit says in this way, the Judeans of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles. Another warning when he heard this and when the people there, what did they do? What did it say? They did? Pleaded with Paul not to go to Jerusalem. This was the third time people were pleading Paul not to go to Jerusalem. Here was a prophet now who came and said, You’re going to be bound up, so don’t go. Isn’t that the most natural thing you would do if you knew that someone was going to get caught and go to jail and stuff, you’d tell him, don’t go.
Paul answered now here’s his answer, and here’s his answer based upon what Paul knew about God’s plan, that nothing’s going to stop me from what? Proclaiming and finishing at race of proclaiming the message of God’s grace. Why are you weeping? He’s saying, You’re breaking my heart. I’m ready not only to be bound. He’s, in essence, saying, I know I’m going to get bound up. I know that, but I’m ready for it, and I’m also ready to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. This is not a big deal for me. I know what’s going to happen to me, but that’s okay. And they’re saying, No, it isn’t okay, because we don’t want you to get bound up. We don’t want you to die. And he’s saying, I know you don’t, but I want God’s will for my life, and I know that God’s will will be carried out. God’s already told me these things are going to happen to me, and it doesn’t bother me at all. So he said, there’s only one thing, and I’m ready for, and I’m ready for the will of God. So I’m not only ready to be bound up, but I’m also willing to die. When he would not be dissuaded. Paul was hard headed. We gave up. It said, we just gave up. And said, well, the Lord’s will be done. Now, isn’t that what Paul was saying, all the time, the Lord’s will be done. And guys, this should be our attitude. I’ve said before. You know, I think we get our prayer life so messed up, where we have this idea that God is obligated to answer everything. But the issue is, do you want your prayers answered, or do you want God’s will for your life? That’s the whole issue. Do you want God’s will for your life, or do you want your little prayers answered? And that’s why it says that anything that we ask according to what? His will, He hears us and answers us. Now, how am I going to know His will if I don’t know his word? And sometimes if I don’t know what his will is, then their prayer is, I don’t know what your will is, Lord, but whatever it is, that’s what I want. And so my prayer to you is, whatever you want is good enough for me. I’m not going to ask you what to do.
After this. We got ready and went up to Jerusalem. Now he was fulfilling what he was there for. It went up to Jerusalem. And what I’m going to do is to stop there, and we’ll finish the rest of this next week. But it’s very interesting what took place when he got to Jerusalem, the seed bed of legalism. And folks, we have to understand that this is a battle that we are in, whether you like it or not, it’s a battle that we’re in. It’s a battle of the grace of God, contrasted to people who say you’re under the law of God. I want to make one thing clear before we leave. Is the world, The Lost World, under the law of God? How long will the lost world be under the law of God? Forever. What was the purpose of the law for the lost world? To show you you’re a sinner and in need of a Savior. So how long will that be in effect? As long as God wants someone to be saved.

Listen to the Salvation message today!
Stand on the firmness of truth. Don’t keep going back and forth. Thank Him that the forgiveness issue is settled.
Let’s pray together:
- Lord Jesus,
- I thank you for taking away my sins on the cross,
- never ever to see them again.
- Having done that, I now thank you for giving me eternal life,
- through your resurrection.
- I now receive that life.
- And I am going stand in the fact that I am a child of the living God.
- In Jesus Holy name I pray.
- Amen
All believers are now brothers and sisters in Christ.
