Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P21 (11-13-24)

The Word of God is True: Jesus is Truth, Jesus is Life, Jesus is the Only Way

~ Jesus says to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, if not by Me. John 14:6
Most people say they believe in the word of God, but when it comes time to apply Faith to the equation, they ignore what the Word says. There is only one way to the Father, and that is through Jesus, God Himself. And make no mistake about it, Jesus is indeed God in the flesh. He is not some sort of created being, He IS God. Yet you will come across many people today, that say, God had a “son” lower case, as though God had a created being. These are nothing more than lies from Satan, wanting us to take the focus off of Jesus as God in flesh, and thus turn the focus on self. The title for Jesus is, Son of God, or God the SON, it is not a designation of a created being. And Father God is also a title, as well as the Spirit of God. All three are ONE. God is ONE. You cannot separate one from the other. God is (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) God.

There are many other things in the word of God that people will say are true, but when it comes to applying Faith to what they have heard, they beat around the bush and don’t like looking at certain verses that go against their world belief system. For example, many people don’t like thinking they are spiritually dead and are NOT GOOD. They’ve been to church their whole lives, and how dare the word of God tell them that they were born dead without the Spirit of God living in them. And in their pride of self, they refuse to believe the word of God and think they are basically good. They will tell you that we should, “look for the good in people” as though people have good inside of them. But here is the thing, none of us are good in and of ourselves, and the word of God is crystal clear on this. And even Jesus said, don’t call me good unless you recognize that I AM God, and ONLY God is GOOD. And if you are not willing to come to Jesus by Faith declaring that Jesus is God, then don’t call Him Good.

Another area where people do not believe the word of God, is they think there are many ways to God. They falsely believe that everyone worships the same God, because after all, that is what their priests, pastors, or other men have told them. And so they give lip service to the word of God, NOT believing that Jesus is the ONLY way to God. And they are not interested in knowing Truth either, for they are content to continue believing the lies, for they will throw up roadblocks when you try to talk to them about Jesus, and they don’t want to hear it. They close off their ears to TRUTH, saying things like, “I don’t want to discuss religion” or any number of coined phrases that are there as roadblocks so they won’t listen. Yet love ALWAYS perserveres and never gives up, always hopes for them to come to the knowledge of Truth and repent (change their mind) and thus come to be saved by His Life. The Holy Spirit is constantly calling everyone to Himself. The question today is, “Are people listening?”

Luke 18:18,19
18 And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.

~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12

~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

~ Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death was passed on to all men, because all sinned. For sin was in the world before the law was given; but sin is not taken into account when there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the way that Adam transgressed. He is a pattern of the One to come.

But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many! Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

So then, just as one trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness brought justification and life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

The law came in so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:1-21

Pray to God:

Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ “Now folks, if the Bible is true, if the Bible is true, and if the Bible says that we were all born into this world dead spiritually, if that is true, then do you have a problem? If you’re a Hebrew do you have a problem if you’re dead? If you’re a Gentile? Do you have a problem if you’re dead? Now those are the only two categories that God has. So that kind of includes the whole world, doesn’t it? Would you not have to say then that the whole world, as it says, was born into this world, dead spiritually? Are we together? Now, if you’re dead guys, you got a problem. You got a problem far greater than sins. You got a consequence you’re dealing with, and the consequence you’re dealing with is death. Now I want to tell you something folks, Moses cannot give you life. The Pope can’t give you life. Luther can’t give you life. I can’t give you life. There was only one person to give you life, and that is the resurrected one, Christ, Jesus. That’s why God sent him. He didn’t send him to form a new religion. He sent him to give life to the dead. He looked down upon his creation with compassion. They’re dead, and if you’re dead, you need life. And the only kind of life available to us is spiritual life, and the only one who could give it to you is Jesus. That’s not religion. Religion can’t give you life. How can religion give you life? I’m going to be obedient to the commands of God. Fine, that’s nice. It’s a nice goal. But how’s that going to give you life? I’m going to go to church every Sunday. That’s nice. How’s that going to give you life? You’re going to come into the church and get life. If you’re dead, you need life. The law, folks, is stringent. The law is without bending. It’s stringent, is it not?” ~ Bob George

Bob George 0:27
So God prepared a way whereby man could be made Righteous, not by our own works, but by the works of the Righteous One, who is Christ, Jesus. And so he says, You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Christ didn’t come to save good people. There aren’t any. Now we walk around thinking we’re really good, and we talk about that, oh, he’s such a good person. Jesus said to one a by good except God. When they call Jesus good teacher, he said, Why do you call Me good? No one’s good except God. So if you’re going to call me good, call me God. If you don’t want to call me God, don’t call me good. Little paraphrase, but that’s what he was saying. None of us are good. There’s not a person sitting in this room that if you plant you park your mind on sin, are not capable of committing it. You can park your mind any place and give into it. And so we have to guard our mind. That’s why it says in the scripture, guard your mind. Why? If you don’t guard it, Satan is going to bombard it. And this is where everything starts, folks right up here in his head. This is where all sin starts, right up here. And if we park our minds on it, we’re going to give in to it. It’s that simple. So that’s why he says, Don’t be conformed to the world, but transformed how? By the renewing of your mind, get your mind soaked in truth. And there’s only one source of truth for us, and that’s the word of God. He says, Get your mind soaked in this become, become a person who knows what truth is, and park your mind there. Because if you don’t, Satan’s going to take it and park it and park it someplace else. So he said at just the right time, when we were still powerless, God died for the ungodly. He didn’t die for good people. He died for us, the ungodly. And it says very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, although it says for a good man, someone might possibly dare to die, but God demonstrates His love toward us in that while we were yet or still sinners, Christ died for us.

Now, folks again, what is a sinner? Is it someone who goes out and does a nasty nine, the Dirty Dozen, the terrible 12? What is the sinner? A sinner is an unbeliever. That’s what you are and what you were prior to the time that you became a believer in the one whom God sent to save us from our sins. A sinner is an unbeliever. Christ died for you and me as we were unbelievers. No one was born into this world as a believer. No baby came out of his mother’s womb saying, Praise Jesus. You’re born lost. You’re born dead. And if you’re dead, you need life, and if you’ve never come to a place in your experience where you’ve recognized the truth that you are spiritually dead. You’re never going to turn to Him for spiritual life. Until you see your death why would you want life? And that’s where his resurrection has no meaning until you understand you’re dead. The Cross has no meaning until you understand you’re a sinner who needs you? You didn’t need to die for me. I’m okay. Haven’t you read the book? I’m okay, you’re okay. I’m going to write one called I’m not okay. You’re not okay, but that’s okay. Until you see your condition. You are not ready for the provision. If you’re not thirsty, you’re not interested in a water fountain, it’s only when you’re thirsty that you’re interested in where can I find water. It’s only when you’re hungry that you’re interested in finding out, where do I have food. And Satan gets us down to a point where he says, Oh, you’re not hungry, oh, you’re not thirsty. You just think you are. Here’s a little stuff. It’ll feed you up a little bit. And he’s saying us, God demonstrated His love toward us, and while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, and since we have now been justified by faith. Are you in Christ? Then you have been what justified by what? Faith in the justifier, faith in the One who came to justify you. How much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him? So since we have now been justified by His blood. And folks, if you want to know what blood is, Leviticus, 17:11 the life of the creature is in the blood. The life is in the blood. So since we. Have now been justified by His what? His life. How much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him? For when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son. How much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his what? His life.

Now, folks, let’s take a look at this passage back to what I was talking to the man in regard to his reading of Calvin and of his Reformed theology. And as I said to him, there’s where Calvin was off. Calvin was off, and we’ve had people copying his being off for all of these years, thinking that, well, God couldn’t have died for all people’s sins. I mean, that would be universal salvation. Would that not be true, that if getting your sins forgiven, was salvation, just accepting that sin, Jesus, thank You for dying for my sins, and that’s all you had to do. Would that not be true, that if Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, that would be universal salvation? Are we together? Would it or not? So if you believe that, then you cannot believe what it says that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, because we know that universal salvation wouldn’t be true. I’m sure I wouldn’t be real happy going into heaven with Hitler. So you know somebody’s going to not going to be there. And so what you’re dealing with is the fact that if, while we were yet enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his son. Then Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, and that’s exactly what he did. He took away the sins of the whole world, he took away Hitler’s sins, he took away your sins, and He took away my sins. Is that salvation? No, no, that’s what he had to do to clear the deck to bring salvation. What is salvation? According this passage? Saved by his what? Life. You are reconciled to God through the death of his son. That’s reconciliation. God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting your sins against you. That’s not salvation. It’s a part of salvation. It’s what God had to do to clear the deck, to bring life to the dead.

Now folks, if the Bible is true, if the Bible is true, and if the Bible says that we were all born into this world dead spiritually, if that is true, then do you have a problem? It’s stringent, is it not?

If you have a corpse, Amy and I were talking about that this morning, you got a corpse, try to bend it. You. It’s stiff, it’s stringent, it won’t bend, and that’s what you and I are under, unless we’ve been freed from that unbending death and have become the recipients of life in Christ, Jesus. How much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life. My friends, this is the most important message that anybody can get a hold of, because it explains, in this one passage, what salvation is. It’s not religion as I say. It’s not being a Catholic. I have to laugh at the pope making Mother Teresa a saint. I’m not as good as Mother Teresa, but I was made a saint back when I was 36 and God made me a saint, and he made you a saint if you’re in Christ, that’s why you’re called saints. That’s why he didn’t address to all the old sinners saved of grace in Philippi and all the old sinners saved of grace and Colossae, he’s called them saints, did he not, not because they were good, but because they were saved. And so we have all kinds of things out there, and you got all kinds of religious stuff, and you got people walking around in dumb looking hats and robes and all this stuff and trying to make themselves look and act holy. That didn’t make you holy. But people fall for that stuff all over the place, fall for it teaching that is totally contrary to the Word of God and fall for it by the masses. Why? Because you don’t check it out against the word of God. Is Luther the standard of truth? Is the pope? No, no. What about korish? Where are you going to have to go to find truth? The Bible, the Word of God.

Bob George 12:37
And what are you going to have to have in you before you can understand what the Bible means? The Spirit of God living in you because no eye has seen or ear has heard, nor mind is conceived of those things that God has prepared for those who love Him. But it must be revealed by what? The Spirit, got to be revealed by the Spirit. The Spirit of God has to reveal the meaning. That’s why, folks, you have the ability to go into the Word of God if you’re saved and trust Jesus to reveal what this means. You don’t have to come to me, you don’t have to go to the Pope, you don’t have to go to Palu, you don’t have to go to Calvin or anybody else. You can go right into the Word of God, and the Word of God will reveal what it means. You believe that? And so when you’re dealing we’re not dealing with religion, we’re not dealing with organization, we’re dealing with people, we’re dealing with yous and mes. We’re dealing with people who God loved so much that he came and died for you so that he could be raised from the dead to come and live in you. That’s good news, isn’t it folks? Not a religion, don’t have to worry about joining a religion. Don’t have to worry about joining anything.

People say to me, do you have a church membership? No. If you’re in Christ, you’re already a member of his church, and that’s good enough for me. If you’re in Christ, then you’re in his church. That’s how you get to be in his church, or his body. The body of Christ is the church, the ecclesia. How do you get to be in his body? By becoming born again, the Spirit of God comes to live in you, then baptize or places you into his body, and so if you’re already joined to him, Well you don’t need to join something else. It’s okay if the person wants to do that. I’m not saying it’s nothing wrong with it. I’m just saying that I think that if you’ve been joined to Christ, that that ought to be good enough. If you want to come here as a member of Christ’s body. That’s fine. If you want to go someplace else, that’s okay too. That’s your decision. But the issue is, you’re a part of the body of Christ regardless where you go. Otherwise, you ever traveled overseas, you’d been in tough shape because you couldn’t come here unless you Rod and he can walk down. From Canada, but anybody else, you’re going to have to come in another way.

So let’s back up a minute, guys, when we were God’s enemies, what does that mean? When you’re God’s enemies, that means you’re what? Lost. You’re a sinner lost. See, we just got through saying he died for sinners. When you were a sinner, an unbeliever, God’s enemies, God reconciled you through the death of his Son. So when did God reconci You to himself as far as sin is concerned? The minute you came into this world, you were born in this world, reconciled. Now, folks, think about this. What does that say to you then if someone pointing their bony finger to you and saying, if you don’t quit sinning, you’re going to go to hell. Is that true? Only heard a few Nos. Is that true? Okay, that’s a little better. Why isn’t that true? No man will ever go to hell because of his sins. Jesus said, the world’s sin is unbelief in me. Where are all of your sins? Where were they all placed? Were your sins judged? Where were they judged? At the cross. What was a verdict? Guilty. What was a punishment? Death. And who took it? Jesus. How much of it? All of it, and if he took all of it, how much is left for you? None. So you are born into this world as a forgiven person. But is there a consequence to sin, and what is it? Death and that has to be dealt with. So God cleared the deck for the divine action of bringing life to the dead. Are we together? And how does he bring life to the dead? Through the resurrected life of his Son. Now, folks, that is precisely why Paul says, without the resurrection, we are to be pitied, of all people and are what still in our sins. Why didn’t he say the cross the resurrection was the centrality of the teaching of the New Testament. He was raised from the dead. That was the thing people could not get a hold of to the people who hated Jesus and hated what the new movement was having. They said, No, no, somebody came and stole him. Well, go find him then. And there’s all kinds of things about what they think happened at the empty tomb. But the issue is the empty tomb was empty because it was empty. And why it was empty is because Jesus wasn’t there anymore. The only man that I know of that was raised from the dead, and so again, you’re not dealing you’re dealing with historical facts. There was a tomb you could go look at. Now, if that was if you had a man that was on a cross and beaten half to death, as it says in the Old Testament, that the Messiah would be beaten as no man beaten beyond comprehension, nailed to a cross, nails through His hands and His feet, suffocated to death on a cross and died. But some people say, Well, no, he didn’t die. Just passed out. Well, then how are you going to put a man who just went through that kind of torture, and with nails through his feet and his hands, who’s going to move that stone? And there’s some people say, Well, he did. How you going to move it from the inside? Have you ever seen that stone over in Israel? Have you ever seen how they put it down into the crevice, try to move it? Took soldiers to move it. He didn’t move the stone. He would have been in too weak, in condition to move anything. Well, then the apostles came and stole him. How’d They Do That when you had guards at the tomb? How’d he do that? Do you know what the penalty was for a guard that led someone like that out of a tomb? Death, death. And again, folks, you may have one guy who could perpetuate a lie, but you don’t have 12 and 14 and 15 of them. Somebody down the road you get ready to crucify me upside down, and I’ll say guys the gigs up. The Jews stole him. What a man benefit from that, no benefit to that. They say, if he’s raised from the dead, we’re in worse shape than were before. There’s no way that the Jews were going to steal Jesus body. What’s the only explanation that we have for the empty tomb? He was raised. He was raised from the dead, just like it was prophesied. He was going to do raised from the dead. The empty tomb, the centrality of the message of the New Testament, Jesus was raised from the dead so that that life that raised Him from the dead can raise you and me from our state of spiritual death. That’s what being born again is. What is birth? Life, forgiveness doesn’t give you life. Life gives you life. The resurrection of Christ Jesus, where he came to give life to the dead.

Now, folks, when you’re dealing with humanity, you hear a message like this, and you have to say to yourself, if this is some kind of a lie, then Jesus and his disciples have perpetuated upon mankind the worst atrocity that you could ever imagine, because they’ve told people that Jesus was raised from the Dead when indeed he wasn’t. And they’ve told people that they were born again when they really weren’t. Nothing really happened to them. And for 2000 years, you’ve had people who are a bunch of pack of liars, including every one of you in this room, just a bunch of pack of liars. Because I want to tell you something, folks, if Jesus isn’t alive, then I don’t know what happened to me back when I was 36 years of age. Now you explain what happened. Don’t come up with a psychological nonsense when you’re going in one direction, one moment you’re going another to the next one that something happened to you and something has happened to you, or you wouldn’t be sitting here today, and you couldn’t be born again unless something happened to you. So for 2000 years, people have been lying. Does that make any sense? Not lying about religion. You’re not lying about, well, you know, I go to this church or that church, but lying about the fact that I had a personal encounter with Jesus. I know Jesus talk to him every day. And so what you’re dealing with is, is this truth or not? Because if it is truth, then it says that truth will do what? Set you free. Set you free from what? The error that’s in our minds, the error that’s in our heads, the error that the world keeps bombarding us with, the error that says, oh, practice religion. I’ll take care of you. This is not a religion. We’re not talking about Hebrew religion and Gentile religion and Catholic religion and Protestant religion. We’re not talking about any of that stuff. We’re talking about a personal encounter with the living God.

You’re talking about a personal time in your life when God came to invade your life and he stands at the door, as it says, of your heart right now, and says to you, If any man opens the door, I will come into you and do what? Give you life. He doesn’t make a nerd out of you. I used to think, Oh, these people come to Jesus. Oh, brother. No. He can make something out of you. He makes you what you are. It’s the only time you’ll ever be free in your life is when you’re complete, when you’ve been made complete by God. It’s only time you’ll ever be yourself. It’s only time you ever get to know who you are. Is when you come to know who he is. Because if Christ is your life, then who do you need to get to know to get to know yourself? Christ. It’s not one of these things of religion. It’s a personal encounter. Excuse me, with the living God. Jesus is alive today. He’s alive today with the same message that he’s been proclaiming to mankind for 2000 years. I am the resurrection and the life. And whosoever believes in me though he were dead spiritually, yet shall he live spiritually. And whosoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. And no man comes to the Father except through me. You don’t come to me by being Hebrew, you don’t come to me by being Gentile. Don’t come to me by being Catholic or Protestant. You come to me just as you are. You come to me. I’m the way to God. I’m the truth about God, and I’m the life of God. Do you want life? Do you want to spend your life dead, or do we want to come alive to Jesus? And there’s the there is the message that God has for you and me, to those of us who are in Christ, Jesus, who know that we spend the rest of our life thanking him for that truth, thanking him for being our God and our Savior and our Lord, the one who extends mercy and kindness to us, the one who’s taken away our sins, never to see them again. Blessed Jesus for that you.

Aren’t you glad that when you go into the presence of God, you won’t go there with your sins on your back? Aren’t you glad that you’ll go into His presence clothed in the righteousness of Jesus instead of our own? And those are all the things that he did for us. Why? Because he loves us. God so loved you that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever would believe in him would not perish but have everlasting life. That’s his promise to you. And as we close today, I just want to challenge anyone that is in this room today that is not 100% sure that they have come to Jesus for what he came to give, and that’s life, and maybe you have, at one time or another, walked an aisle, or whatever it might been to accept forgiveness, but you went back to your pew as dead as you went to the altar, because Christ didn’t come to give you forgiveness. He came to give you life. In order to give you life, he had to take away your sins. He had to take away the cause of spiritual death before he could give you spiritual life. But because of the eternal consequence of the cross, he’s now able to offer you eternal life. And if you haven’t come to Him for that life, you’ve been religious, maybe you’ve been a relatively good person. But if you haven’t come to Him for that life that’s available, will you do that today by merely saying to Jesus, Jesus, thank you for taking away the cause of my spiritual death at the cross. Thank you for doing that, and now I hear you offering me your resurrected life, and I invite you into my heart as my Lord and my Savior and my very life. And if in your heart that was your desire, you can walk out of this room today knowing that you’re born again, that Christ, Jesus has honored what he said he would do. Jesus Came to Save Sinners

Listen to the Salvation message today!

Stand on the firmness of truth. Don’t keep going back and forth. Thank Him that the forgiveness issue is settled.

Let’s pray together:

  • Lord Jesus,
  • I thank you for taking away my sins on the cross,
  • never ever to see them again.
  • Having done that, I now thank you for giving me eternal life,
  • through your resurrection.
  • I now receive that life.
  • And I am going stand in the fact that I am a child of the living God.
  • In Jesus Holy name I pray.
  • Amen

All believers are now brothers and sisters in Christ.
