Love is ALWAYS… and Directly From God ~ We Cannot Do Love Ourselves

~ LOVE is ALWAYS: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways. Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-13

Without Love, we are nothing, except a noisy gong. And it is His Love that is living in and through us as true believers in Christ Jesus. And a reminder, it’s not that we love God, but He Loves us! “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10 He is the one, God in the flesh, who took away All our sins (yours and mine and the whole world’s sins) at the cross. He is no longer counting any sins against anyone today. For God was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world to Himself and is not counting sins against any person today. 2 Corinthians 5:19

Behold the Lamb of God Who Took Away the Sins of the World!

A caller asked about loving people
Bob responds:

“Quite frankly, the love that’s talked about in the scripture of loving one another and to practicing Love is the love that’s given to us in first Corinthians, 13 and beginning in verse four. And so, in order to verify what I’m saying that you can’t do it anyway, apart from Christ, doing it through you, is just take that definition of love and put the I am always in it and see how you do. I am always patient. I am always kind. I am never envious. I’m never boastful. I never boast about anything I do, I’m never proud, I’m never rude, I’m never self seeking, always looking out other for others interest over to Bob myself. I’m never easily angered. I never keep records on my wife’s wrongs. Wouldn’t do it if my life depended on it. I never delight in evil. Just hate anything and even smacks of dirtiness, you know, dirty joke or some just just hate those things. I always rejoice with truth, especially when my wife tells me something’s wrong with me. I just rejoice in that. I always protect others, I always trust, I always hope. How’d you do? Yeah, fall short. Big time. You wouldn’t even have gone beyond the patience. To me, there’s not one thing. And Bob George, it represents that lineup. And so what it tells us is the love that can only be produced by Christ. Jesus is the only kind of love that God is interested in. It’s what’s called agape love that can’t be produced by us, so we don’t have to worry about the results, do we? We don’t have to worry about people taking advantage of us because it isn’t our love to begin with. So again, can you be patient with God? Can God be patient with people through you? Absolutely. God was patient with me. Why shouldn’t he be patient with you? And why shouldn’t I be patient with you? God has been kind to me. Why shouldn’t I be kind to you? And so the issue is that it’s only when we’re yielding to the God who lives in us, who can produce that love in and through us, Lord Lori, that that that kind of love is going to be manifested so you don’t have to worry about being taken advantage of any more than Jesus did. Jesus practiced all those things, and did man take advantage of him? Absolutely? Did he care? No, yeah, no, no. It’s not the issue. It’s the issue that this kind of love has nothing to do with the recipient. It’s not I love you because I love you, if it’s just I choose to be patient with you. I choose to be kind to you. I choose to not be envious of you. I choose not to be boastful in front of you. I choose not to be proud and all of those things. It’s allowing Jesus to live his life in and through us.” ~ Bob George
