Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P632 (05-07-21)
People in all backgrounds are looking for purpose and meaning in life, whether you were brought up in a religious background or were in the habit of rejecting God, calling yourself an atheist. But there comes a time where you realize that this yearning in your heart for acceptance and love is not working. In that process, you hear a message about Christ or you pick up a bible and start reading. There you learn that Christ is the answer all along.
As you are getting your mind renewed, you may be confused for a while, because, if you came from a religious background, you are beginning to wonder about what you had been taught. Things just do not make sense. A pastor commits adultery. That in itself is alarming to you, when he is supposed to be a believer, and believers are not supposed to do that, and certainly not a pastor, whom you are relying on. Another pastor is preaching about tithing. And you are not even sure if that is what you are supposed to be doing or not. The church you grew up in never mentioned tithing. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

People can grow up in any number of evangelical denominations and not really understand what salvation is, the meaning of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, what that really accomplished for mankind and for you personally. If you were to ask a person what salvation is, some will say it is a process you have to go through while others will say it is that Jesus died for my sins, and that is it. Others will even say you can lose your salvation. People who say such things do not know what salvation is. So to help a person, first you have to know what salvation is, what truth is as revealed by the Spirit of God from the scriptures. Then to engage the person in conversation, you might ask him, “What is your understanding of salvation?”
To a person who says salvation is “Jesus died for my sins”, and that is it, Bob often responds by saying, “That is your problem. You have got half a gospel. Let me explain to you. Do you want me to explain to you the fullness of the gospel?” The gospel … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Have you allowed the truth God’s word to change your thinking, or are you relying on your feelings? How well do you know all that God has given you in Christ Jesus? So grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ by reading His word, allowing the Spirit, who is alive living in you, to renew your mind with truth.
Have you been sitting under a pastor who is mixing law and grace? Has your pastor taught you that you have to take the Lord’s Supper in a worthy manner, and be sure to have no unconfessed sins when you eat at the Lord’s table. Is that true? No! Have … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Common questions keep being asked generation after generation. It seems the same old deception and misinformation, by even well-meaning denominational persuasions of men, gets passed on, and has to be addressed every generation. You will hear people say in the charismatic churches, for example, about the need to receive a second baptism of the Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. How would you answer that?
How well do you know God and His Word that you could explain why that cannot be true? We are in the end times, and we have been since Jesus rose from the dead, and He told us to not let any man deceive you. Yet people are so accustomed to readily believe whatever a pastor, such as from a denominational persuasion they identify with, says as true. Few people seem to get into the word of God for themselves. Recall what the apostle Paul remarked concerning the people of Berea. They diligently studied the scriptures to see if what even the apostle Paul said was so. Paul commended them as being more noble than all the rest. We should do likewise.

Have you ever got into a conversation trying to persuade someone on what truth on a matter is? But they are not understanding or their mind is made up. It is one thing to disagree on certain trivial or non-consequential matters, and certain things are not as clear without more or sufficient information to draw conclusions. But when God has made something clear to you, that has been revealed to you through the scriptures on what Christ Jesus accomplished on the cross for you, it is heart-breaking when you share such truth on such a critical subject of life and death, and the person is blind or hard of heart and cannot see!
It is also heartbreaking when you see those leaders whom you trusted and respected, who were even influential in your early years in coming to Christ, have gone astray or have fallen into a serious sin, maybe even as a pastor, where much more is expected from them. That can lead to anguish and soul-searching in many hearts as to questioning what truth is, or what church is, of trust and fellowship is. To a lost person … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
