Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P41 (05-11-21)
Have you thought about what it means to apply God’s word, to obey His commands? What kind of commands were given to the Jws under an Old Covenant system. They had the ten commandments. How well did they do in obeying them? What about us, who never had the law to begin with, but we try to obey those same ten commandments? Do we do any better? Now, it is good that we desire to obey them, for the commandments are good, just and right. So here does the problem lie? With us.
Then Jesus comes along, being born into this world as a man, the second Adam. He says things to the Jews that make the ten commandments look simple in comparison. We think we are pretty good in comparison to Adolf Hitler, for example. ’I never murdered anyone”, you say. But Jesus says if you even just hate your brother, you already committed murder in your heart. If you lust after someone, then you are already committed adultery in your heart.

The one thing people are looking for is unconditional love and acceptance. We cannot give that to someone else, not in the energy of our flesh. So much marital strife is because one spouse has unrealistic expectations on another, expecting their partner to provide what he or she is unable to provide. Yet, the Lord Jesus Christ commands us to love one another just as He loved us. So what is Jesus saying to us? Is He telling us to do something that is impossible for us to do? Yes and no, because it is not us doing it.
The key to the Christian life is a life of dependency, of trust in the one who loves you perfectly, and only God can do that, for God is love. Jesus, as the second Adam, modeled perfectly for us how we are to live. He limited Himself in the use of His divine attributes in a manner that we would have to relate to God, after having the Spirit placed in us at a new spiritual birth. Was it not from His complete dependency upon His Father? … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

In this world it seems things are constantly changing, and almost instantaneously. We have election fraud, a so-called C pandemic, an earthquake here and there, a tornado, or some other disaster, and a war about to break out in a moment’s notice. And we have a push for all people to just get along, regardless of whatever you believe, for that is just your opinion, as people would say. It is also so easy to get your mind, as an American, to spend all your energy and time to restore America. And to do that, people can forget their purpose as an ambassador for Christ, to represent God in a foreign land, to proclaim the gospel without compromise.
Now, if we study our bible, Jesus tells us ahead of time what we can expect, and to not be alarmed, or afraid, when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, for the end is not right away. So, it is so easy for us to lose sight of what God has commanded us to do, to love one another even as He loved us. That is … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

How can mortal man know God? Who can know the thoughts of God, the one who created all there is, who spoke the world and the universe into existence, and who created us? What is it about mankind that we ponder things of eternity, asking questions such as “Why am I here?”, “Where am I going when I die?” and “What is the meaning and purpose of life?” There is a general notion of emptiness, of a certain longing inside of mankind, to be made complete.
Why does mankind form religions to attempt to answer these questions of life? There is a conscience built into mankind, knowing that murder is wrong, knowing that stealing is wrong? So man instinctively knows the law. But man, being weak in his natural self, cannot obey the law. He thinks he can improve himself and ultimately appease some God out there, a God he does not personally know, but instead substitutes a god of his own imagination, not based on truth.

Let us learn what it means to build on a new foundation. That also means we need to destroy the old foundation, whatever it is made of, denominational sand, New Age thinking, worldly thinking, whatever it might be, and replace that foundation with the bedrock of Jesus Christ. As an analogy, you can liken that to erasing a chalkboard of false mathematical equations with the correct mathematical equations, otherwise you are easily confused when you have old information mixed with new information, and are tempted to use the old information you are so comfortable with. Your mind is hindered from being renewed when you are fed error and poisonous doctrine mixed in with the truth. So be sanctified, be set apart from the thinking of the world.
We have a solid foundation to be built upon Christ Jesus, who spoke to the apostles, brought everything He said to them back to their remembrance, so they could write down the thoughts of Christ. So that is how we have the bible we hold in our hands today. Jesus Christ is the source of all grace and truth … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
