What About 1 John 1:9

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P1172 (10-09-26)

Un-Scrambling 1 John 1:9: Stop Begging for What Was Finished at Calvary

~ In corporate religious institutions, 1 John 1:9 is routinely weaponized as the ultimate transactional tool. Churchgoers are taught that salvation and fellowship with God operate like a relational “vending machine” or a “Christian bar of soap”: you stumble, insert an apology coin, beg for forgiveness, and trigger a fresh dispensation of grace to clear your account.

This completely distorts the courtroom reality of the Gospel!

When you examine 1 John 1:9 through its original Koine Greek grammar and historical context, it does not command post-cross believers to beg for daily clearance. Instead, it reveals an un-scrambled, courtroom declaration of a completed historical reality settled at the cross of Calvary where the debt was cleared!

1. The Epistolary Context: Addressing the Gnostic Heresy at Ephesus

You cannot rightly divide 1 John 1:9 without understanding the specific theological battlefield Apostle John was addressing. 1 John was written in response to an inquiry from a pastor in Ephesus regarding the rising heresy of Gnosticism.

Gnostics operated under a dualistic worldview, claiming that all physical flesh is inherently evil and only spirit is good.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Your Identity in Christ Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P1009 (02-21-25)

You Need to Have Your Identity in Christ Jesus

~ “Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3

~ Having a proper identity in Christ Jesus is paramount to living the Christian life. If a person has their identity as a Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, or any of the 1000s of denominations, then Satan has got them wrapped up in the lie of religion. And one of the key lies is that of ongoing forgiveness by God. They ALL teach it in one way or another. The Catholic religion teaches going to a priest for ongoing forgiveness by God, and Protestants teach of ongoing forgiveness by God by directly asking for what Jesus has already done.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Reconciled Us To God

Understanding Your Identity in Christ Jesus

~ If you are in Christ Jesus, you’ve got a brand new identity. You are a child of the Living God. You are no longer a sinner, you are a Saint in the eyes of God. So then, we need to understand our identity if we are in Christ Jesus. And that is part of the problem right there. Most don’t understand their identity, because they either are Not a child of God, or they are listening to the teaching of Man instead of listening to the Holy Spirit teach a person Truth.

And many of us today that are in Christ Jesus go out of our way to persuade people the Truth of the word of God. We don’t want anyone to perish. We want people to hear and understand TRUTH. Yet those are the ones that the world views as being out of our minds, crazy and weird, because they will say that hardly anyone teaches what we are teaching. And that is TRUTH, hardly anyone indeed is teaching the TRUTH of the word of God. They might be teaching what the word of God says, but they have not exercised faith in the Truth that has been taught.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Brought a Sword of His Word

Classic Christianity – Book of Hebrews P31 (11-07-23)

If You Are in Christ Jesus, You Are a Child of God

~ Jesus, wants you to know you are a brother and sister of Christ Jesus if you are in the body of Christ because the Holy Spirit lives in every true born again believer in Jesus. We are the body of Christ Himself down here on earth. However, Satan wants you to think your identity is in something else. He doesn’t want you to know your true identity as a child of God. He would much rather have your identity be in some religion, or some follower of some man. Because if your identity is in Christ Jesus, your walk with the Lord will be as bold as the Apostle Paul was in proclaiming the truth of the word of God. The Holy Spirit will be using you to proclaim truth. And Truth always divides. Jesus even said, he did not come into the world to bring peace, but came to bring a sword. And if you cannot tell that is going on today, then you might want to consider that you might not be sharing Truth with people today to begin with.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

We Have a New Identity in Christ When We are Saved

As a reminder to all our radio and online listeners, we are listening to edited legacy programs brought to you by Bob George Ministries. In order to bring these programs to you we sometimes need to repeat some of the previous program in order for us to bring you the entirety of the original program as to the best of our abilities and fit it in to the half hour format version we are in right now. We feel it is more important for you to hear the entirety of the original radio show (over a course of either two or three days) and in the original context as much as possible, as opposed to cutting off or dicing them up between the original broadcasts. So with that in mind, we review a little of yesterday’s lessen.

Bob continues on telling the story about his dad and that his dad was a lawyer. He tells the story of when his dad got cancer and the flying back and forth he was doing. He realized at that point in time that all the things he had placed such great emphasis were meaningless in comparison to eternity.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

In Jesus We Are New Creations

In Christ Jesus We Are a New Creation!

We continue on with our study of “A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection.” We want to remind you, that it is never too late to pick up your copy today from our ecommerce store at Shop.BobGeorge.net. We encourage you to join along as Bob teaches from the word of God. Listen in and follow along.

So let’s pick up with our study and review some of the things we have learned. Jesus has made us a brand new creation. The Apostle Paul explains in 2 Corinthians 5:17 the new creation has come if anyone is in Christ Jesus. The old has gone and the new is here!

2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

And furthermore Paul writes in Galatians 2:20 that I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Paul is telling us that the old Paul no longer lives, but Christ lives in me. So his new identity was “Christ in me,” my hope of glory, my hope of identity, my hope of everything.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
