Jesus Forgave You on The Cross Forgiveness is Finished

Classic Christianity – When Hope Was Born – 7-22-26

— Atonement vs. Finished Forgiveness ~

In the Old Testament, God gave Israel a system of atonement through animal sacrifices (especially seen in Leviticus 16, the Day of Atonement).

  • The blood of bulls and goats could cover sins for a time, so that God continued to dwell among His people.
  • But these sacrifices had to be repeated continually, year after year.
  • Scripture itself says they could never truly take away sins or make people perfect before God (Hebrews 10:1–4, 11).

This whole system was a shadow—a temporary picture—pointing forward to something better.

In the New Testament, Jesus is presented as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).

  • By His one sacrifice on the cross, He did what animal sacrifices never could:
    • He took away sins (not just covered them).
    • He perfected forever those who are made holy by His offering (Hebrews 10:10–14).
    • God now says under the New Covenant, “Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more” (Jeremiah 31:31–34; Hebrews 10:16–18).

So the difference is:

New Covenant in Christ = once‑for‑all removal of sin, full and final forgiveness, with no more sacrifice needed, and God promising not to remember sins against us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is Received by Faith

Classic Christianity – The One True Gospel – Part 2 – 7-21-26

~ I am amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse! As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!

Jesus is the Gospel Warning

Believers are the Body of Jesus Christ the Church

Classic Christianity – Gifts For The Church – Part 2 – 7-15-26

~ Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

— We who are in Christ Jesus are all part of the body of Christ. And as such we each are placed here for the common good of the body itself. God has assignments for each of us. He wants us to use our spiritual gifts as He sees fit. And many take that to mean some form of funny talk with speaking in a babbling language that no one has a clue about. Holy Spirit

Classic Christianity – Gifts For The Church – Part 1 – 7-14-26

~ Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were pagans, you were led even as to mute idols, being led astray. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking in the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed,” and no one is able to say, “Jesus is Lord,” except in the Holy Spirit.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, and the same Lord; and there are varieties of workings, but the same God who is working all things in all. 1 Corinthians 12:1-6

— God wants us to know exactly what our spiritual gifts are and what they are for. They are not for ourselves, but they are gifts for others. That is eye opening when you understand the Truth of this. We are gifts to each other in the body of Christ. We are to be available to be used by God, with our spiritual gifts at His disposal to be used by Him when He wants to use us. Salvation is Through Faith in Jesus

Classic Christianity – Justification by Faith – 7-13-26

~ Only through Faith in Jesus is anyone saved. Not by works of the Law. Because no one can do the works of the Law. That is the key point. And salvation for both HEBREWS and Gentiles is Exactly the same way, through Faith in Jesus. This is why we are all of one body. There is NOT a HEBREW body and a Gentile body, but only ONE Body of Christ Jesus. Don’t get caught up in the legalism crowd or the crowd that says, Hebrews are saved one way and Gentiles are saved another way. Because all of that is a lie of Satan.

— What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has discovered? If Abraham was indeed justified by works, he had something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now the wages of the worker are not credited as a gift, but as an obligation.
