The Peace of God

Classic Christianity – Right Now! – Part 2 – 5-19-26

~ “But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you⁺ soon, that I also may be of good spirit, having known the things concerning you. For I have no one like-minded, who genuinely will care for the things concerning you. For those all seek the things of themselves, not the things of Jesus Christ. But you know his proven worth, that as a child with a father he served with me in the gospel. Therefore indeed I hope to send him immediately, when I shall have seen the things concerning me. Jesus Wants His Love to Flow Through Us

Classic Christianity – Right Now! – Part 1 – 5-18-26

~ “Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in Spirit and purpose.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Phillipians 2:1-4

~ Jesus Himself is our Spirit of Love one to another. We are to encourage each other in Christ Jesus. We are to comfort one another with His Love living in and through us. We are to have fellowship with the same Spirit, for all who are in Christ Jesus. Be like-minded by understanding His Love and forgiveness that was given to you. Extend that Love and forgiveness to others. Know and understand the Truth about the word of God. Share with others. Consider others more important than yourself. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride in self.

Jesus Will Give You a New Heart

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P9 (06-14-21)

Synopsis

As you read the book of Hebrews, you will come to understand the New Covenant we are under today, with so many precious promises for us. The writer of Hebrews contrasts this covenant with the Old Covenant that it replaced. The Old Covenant was conditional in nature, and was to the people of Israel, that if they could keep all the requirements of the law, the law of Moses, with all its ten commandments and regulations, God would be their God and they would be His people. But man could not keep that, and neither could you and I today, who think we can do better in obeying the ten commandments of Moses, and come up with our own religious system that we might approach God.

So to understand the need of the New Covenant, you have to understand the problem of all mankind. You have to understand what caused our death, and that there is only one solution to death and that is life, but not a temporal life, but eternal life. Synopsis

As we ponder over understanding the word of God in regards to interacting with other people, we have this wisdom from God in dealing with anxiety and worry and also dealing with a critical spirit toward others. What is our tendency when others do not think like us? Do we want to just write them off and have nothing further to do with them? Thank God Jesus is not like us. When a woman was caught in adultery, all these men were picking up stones to stone her to death. What did Jesus do? He told them that if any one of them is without sin, he is to be the first person to cast the stone. Jesus, being the only person without sin, what did he do? He told her to go free and to sin no more.

So we need to realize that we are no different than other people. Why are you tearing down another person, discrediting another person, or being critical of him? What is true of another person? In this world, we will have trials and tribulations. Jesus told us that in His word. Now, we have learned that His word is living and active, and if you are a child of God, He is living in you. The Spirit will guide you into all truth. And if you are not yet a child of God, the Spirit, who is love and who cares for you, is drawing you unto Himself.

Have you ever been depressed or overcome with worry or fear? Have you found yourself in a hotel room and you open a drawer and find a Gideons bible there. Inside the cover is all kinds of promises from God’s word, organized by topic. So you read the category on worry and fear, and as you read you begin to read about a God you do not yet know, but you are being drawn to this person because of all the wonderful promises and the hope laid out for you in His word. Synopsis

As we read in Philippians, concerning the attitude in Christ Jesus, there are three basic attitudes that God wants to form in us, the attitudes of servitude, humility and dependency on the Father. When we come to Christ by faith in his death, burial and resurrection for us, we are on the starting line, where for the very first time the Spirit of God is placed in us. The mind of Christ is what we now have, to discern the things of God.

We need the mind of Christ so that our minds can be renewed with truth to replace the error of the world, the philosophies and the thinking of the world that has kept us in bondage and is contrary to the life God has given us. We are instructed to renew our minds with the new mind God has freely given us, to be able to walk in the new life. We have this option to participate in the divine nature. We are to have this attitude that if not for the grace of God, there go I.
