“It is Finished.” Jesus Forgave You One Time, For All Your Sins – He Is Never Going to The Cross Again

People live today under the lie of ongoing forgiveness by God. They either think they have to keep short accounts with God by asking for forgiveness, or they think they get out of fellowship with God when they sin. Your sins have already been forgiven by God, once for all sins. Past tense on the forgiveness issue. Jesus is not going to keep going back to the cross over and over again, and He said, “It is Finished!” Now, quit asking over and over again for what He has already done. For if you keep asking for forgiveness, you are not living by faith. You are living by presumption.

In today’s first caller Hans, called from Eugene, Oregon. He was struggling with a decision based on cancer treatments and wondered if the bible had anything to say to that specific area of decisions we may face in life. Listen in as Bob gives insight from the word of God in regards to this. Keep in mind, that as a Christian, we have nothing to fear in life, or in death of our bodies.

1 John 4:18
¹⁸ There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

The second caller, Jesse, called from Atlanta, Georgia. He wanted to know how to go about sharing Jesus with his son that was mentally challenged. Listen in as Bob helps him to understand that his son does in fact understand some things. Don’t assume that someone doesn’t understand or can not accept the word of God. Share with them, and then place them in the hands of God, who loves us perfectly. Listen in as Bob shares this with him.

The third caller was Joe, calling from Bay City, Texas. His question was on having a better understanding of the phrase being “dead to sin.” Listen in as Bob shares information on the matter. We so often make the wrong connection to what the word of God means, and get off track in our thinking. Being dead to sin is one of those phrases that people think that means being dead to sinning, as though a person is going to stop sinning in this body of flesh. However, that is nothing to do with stopping a person sinning, but has everything to do with being dead to the law. Christians are dead to the law of sin and death, hence we are dead to sin. For sin no longer has its hold on us.

Our next caller was Mike calling from Pueblo, Colorado. He wanted to get Bob’s impression of Psalm 66:18 in regards to the Holy Spirit leaving David. And the second part of Mike’s question was in regards to ongoing the forgiveness issue. Listen in as Bob explains that we don’t live under the old Covenant. And then he also explains that ongoing asking for forgiveness is not faith.

The next caller was Jim calling from Little Falls, New York. His question was in Faith, Hope and Love. He wanted to know if faith was more important than love. Bob explains that we respond to God’s love through faith. Listen in as Bob goes into more detail in regards to this topic.
