Absent From The Body And Present With the Lord Jesus Christ

~ Pay attention to the details. When we die, if we are in Christ Jesus, we go directly to be with Him. And we also know that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. So we have to be changed. And we will not be taking our OLD flesh bodies with us. We have a new body that is prepared for us. The new body will never decay. It will never hurt. Nothing will be able to harm the new body. And the Holy Spirit is a deposit of that guarantee. For He set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. [2 Corinthians 1:22] And the Holy Spirit is a Seal, a Mark in all who are in Christ Jesus, so that we may know for sure we are His. And the Holy Spirit testifies to our spirit that this is so.

~ And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. ^{Ephesians 1:13}

~ We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
^{2 Corinthians 5:8}

~ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. ^{1 Thessalonians 4:13-18}

~ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. ^{1 Corinthians 15:50-58}

Bob George:
~ “We’re talking about two different things let’s take the Thessalonians passage first again, it talks about the fact that and beginning in verse chapter four, verse 13, at brother’s eye, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who have fallen asleep. So obviously the question was asked, as Paul had explained the fact that a rapture of the saints was going to occur Well, what about the people who died before this Rapture occurs? And so that’s what he’s saying, I don’t want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep or grieve like the rest of the men, who have no hope, over, grieve over who? People who have fallen asleep or what we call died, prior to the Rapture. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, he didn’t rise again. 1000 years later, he rose again, after he died, right. And so we also believe that God will bring with Jesus, those who have fallen asleep in him. Now you go over to the third chapter of First Thessalonians. And it talks about the fact that in verse 12, may the Lord make your love, increase and overflow for each other. And for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May He strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our Lord of our God and Father, when our Lord Jesus comes with all of his holy ones. Now, how can he come with us who are that’s how we’re referred to as the holy one set apart by him? How can we come with him unless we were already there? Which ties into that Jesus will bring with us with him, but God will bring with Jesus, those who have fallen asleep in him. Those are the holy ones. Okay, how’s he gonna bring them unless we’re there already? Right. And so, so, when you’re when you have this passage of Scripture, according to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive and who are left, till the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep, right? Well, why? Well, because the ones who have fallen asleep already in the presence of God, we’re already there, the minute that we are absent from the body, we’re present with the Lord. And I do not think that we’re there. In complete, I think God said, I’ve been made complete here. And I don’t believe that when I die, I suddenly become incomplete with no body I think we get our glorified body, at the very moment that we are absent from the body and present with the Lord. And then it says, The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command and with a voice of the archangel and with a trumpet call of God need to put a period there, okay, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Well who are the dead in Christ, the ones he was just talking about those who have those who have fallen asleep in Christ and and that And those of us who are left until the coming till the coming of the Lord will not proceed those who have fallen asleep. So the dead in Christ is the first arrives, they’re the ones who rise at the time of their death. After that night you see Joseph in interpretation of Scripture again, you if you’ve got a before and after, that can’t be a split second. And the rapture is a split second event. This is talking about, as he said, according to the law, the Lord’s own words, we tell you that we who are still alive and left, we they’ve been left until the coming of the Lord. That means there’s a before and after. So after that we who are still alive, and our left will be ratchet, right will be caught up together with them, that who are the them, the holy ones that have come with Jesus. And we will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever, therefore encourage each other with these words. Well, it’s very encouraging to me to read these words and to realize that I also know that the Bible says to be absent from the body is present with the Lord. And I also know as you do to Joseph, that flesh and blood will never inherit the kingdom of God that we know that. So there is no way for me to think that this body of mine is going to go into the presence of God, this body of mine is gonna go where it came from, and that’s the grave. And that’s why I need a glorified body.” ~ Bob George
