What is Faith in Regards to Salvation? Place Faith in Jesus, Not Ourselves.

~ “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

~ So many times we want to initiate things ourselves, instead of realizing that God is the initiator and we are responders. We respond to the Holy Spirit’s drawing all men to himself. We also respond to Christ putting it on our hearts to pray for something or someone.

~ “Jesus said, If any of us had faith, the size of a mustard seed, we could move a mountain. And I don’t think I’ve seen too many people do that recently, which shows us that our faith is somewhat smaller than that of the smallest seed known to man, a mustard seed. I don’t have big faith, I have a big God. Friend, my faith does not do anything except enable me to enter into what God has promised me. And I don’t need big faith for that. I’ve got a big God when God says to me that I’ve given you everything that you need for life and godliness. My faith says thank you for that and I’m gonna walk into truth of that. So faith is not changing anything. Faith merely enters into what God has already provided. For us. It’s a means of latching on to what God has proclaimed. There isn’t anything I put my faith in unless it’s false faith, except what God has revealed to be Jesus died on a cross to take away my sins, my faith says, Thank You, Jesus was raised from the dead. So that in order to give me life, because I was born dead, and I say thank you. And so in all of those things, it is, He is always the initiator, and we’re the responder.”
