The Body of Christ is the Body of Believers

~ “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you;c do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-25

~ Understanding the truth of the Lord’s Supper is paramount to understanding Christ in you your hope of glory. The Lord’s Supper is not a place where you do introspection of one’s self, and getting yourself right with God, as though you are asking for more forgiveness. It’s a picture of Christ coming to live in you when you placed faith in Him. It’s a celebration and remembrance of when that occurs in our lives, when the Holy Spirit comes to live in you for all time. You cannot see the Holy Spirit, but He lives in you, and He is God. So Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Spirit are one, and we too become one in spirit with them. We have accepted His body and His blood completely and partake of it for ALL who are in Christ. We partake of the same body and blood of Jesus Christ for everyone, and then when the bread, representing His body and the wine, representing His blood is gone, and can be seen no more, He is now alive living in me and you who are in Christ Jesus.

John 6:28,29

28 Therefore they said to Him, “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?”

29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent.”

“Yeah, our picture. It’s a picture Michael of the day that we became a part of the body of Christ, and then the in Corinthians. The reason that he was talking about the Lord’s Supper is because the body of Christ was acting like a bunch of jerks, eating up all the food and drinking all the wine before the rest of the body showed up, and by the time the rest of the people got there, they were sitting there full and drunk. And so he was saying that he brought us back to the fact that, look, we all came out of one body. If you were to look for the body of Christ 2000 years ago, you’d had to go to Israel and find Jesus of Nazareth, and there you’d have found the body of Christ. But he said, I’m going away, and it’s going to be a mystery body here on this earth. You are going to become my body as I send my Holy Spirit to live in you individually, as you come to Christ by faith. And you are going to become a part of the body of Christ. So once that loaf is passed around, or whatever you use, and it’s gone, you say, well, where’s the loaf? Well, it’s gone. Where is it? Well, it’s in me. And that’s a picture of the day that you became a part of the body of Christ. And then of course, the cup is a celebration of the New Covenant where God, where he said to your sins and lawless acts, I will remember no more, and where these have been forgiven, there’s no longer any sacrifice for sins. To the Jew, he would be saying, Put aside your sacrificial system. To the Catholic, he’d say, Put aside your confession booth. To the Protestants, forget your first John one nine. It isn’t good for you anyway, and and trust in the fact that your sins have been taken and put behind the back of God never to see them again. And that’s a celebration that we should all do together. So at any rate, you can do that at home. You could do that with some other believers, wherever you might be. It’s a celebration that you’re aware of the fact that you’re a bond member the body of Christ, and that your sins and lawless acts he remembers no more.” ~ Bob George
