Understanding the Lord’s Supper
~ The Lord’s Supper has been perverted beyond measure. Hardly any church today explains the Lord’s Supper properly to people, and what has happened is that pastors that have been taught in ALL seminaries today, the lies of Satan, pass those same lies on down to their sheep. And it is nothing more than the spokespeople of Satan leading the sheep to the slaughter. And make no mistake about it, that it is indeed selling Satan’s lies. And this is because, most of the time, the people in the pulpit are just as lost as the people in the pews. Jesus said, it is the blind leading the blind. Most today don’t like hearing this, because they think they are getting proper training at their church. They justify the situation because they will think their pastor has gone to seminary, so he must know the truth. The bottom line is they are NOT teaching TRUTH at seminaries. They are teaching doctrines of demons and Man. For they all depend on what their schooling taught them, over that of the word of God. They have elevated the teaching of Man over that of the Word of God. Even the apostle Paul had to set the record straight back then to people. But instead of reading the Word of God in context, most pastors will simply take a snippet out of context when doing the Lord’s Supper and pervert it beyond understanding. For they themselves don’t even understand the word of God. And that becomes obvious as we see what is going on today. And you can tell it based on the pastor’s prayers, where they will ask for more forgiveness from God.
1 Corinthians 11:17-33
~ Now in this instructing, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better, but for the worse. For first indeed, of you coming together in an assembly, I hear there to be divisions among you, and in part I believe it. For also it behooves there to be factions among you, so that also the approved should become evident among you.
Therefore, of you coming together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s supper. For in eating, one takes first the own supper. And indeed this one is hungry, but that one is drunken. What! Have you no houses in which to eat and to drink? Or do you despise the church of God and put to shame those having nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you!
For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed, took bread, and having given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you;a do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise also the cup after having supped, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you might drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you may eat this bread and may drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He should come.
Therefore whoever should eat the bread or should drink the cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and in this manner let him eat of the bread, and let him drink of the cup. For the one eating and drinking not discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself. Because of this, many are weak and sick among you, and many are fallen asleep.
For if we were judging ourselves, we would not come under judgment. But being judged by the Lord, we are disciplined, so that we should not be condemned with the world.
So then, my brothers, coming together in order to eat, wait for one another. If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you might not come together for judgment; and I will set in order the other things as soon as I might come.

John 6:28,29
28 Therefore they said to Him, “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent.”

Bob George addresses a caller’s concern about worthiness for communion, emphasizing that salvation is by grace, not works. He criticizes the misuse of the Lord’s Supper, citing 1 Corinthians 11, where believers were taking communion without waiting for others, leading to gluttony and drunkenness. George clarifies that the unworthy manner involved self-centeredness, not personal unworthiness. He stresses that Christians are already forgiven and should not feel guilty about sin. George also discusses the biblical qualifications for pastors and deacons, emphasizing that they should be men, and explains that Hebrews 6:1 urges believers to move beyond basic teachings to mature faith.

“Iris. It’s it’s a sad it’s a sad thing that you have been taught that kind of nonsense in the first place. You never have been worthy. Worthy is the Lamb, not the sheep to think that I’m not worthy today means that at one time you thought you were and you never have been worthy. We’re not saved because we’re worthy. We’re saved because he’s worthy, and we’re saved by grace, not because we’re worthy, but because we’re unworthy. And so there isn’t anybody that is going to be saved or keep themselves saved by what they do. Jesus is the one who initiated our salvation, and Jesus is the one who sustains our salvation. Faithful is He Who called you who will also do it? And so the Lord’s Supper has been, my opinion, Iris has been abused and misrepresented in its teaching more than any single doctrine of the Christian faith that I know and I’d like to share with you, and take time for you to listen very carefully so that you can get rid of this guilt that man has put on you not God, but man has put on you through false teaching. And so I want you to listen to what the Bible says not to what I’m talking about, what the Bible says in chapter 12 of First Corinthians, okay, he says in the following directives, I have no praise for you for your meetings do more harm than good in the first place. I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and to some extent, I believe it. And he talks about the fact that when you come together, is it not the Lord’s Supper that you are a Lord’s supper that you eat? For as you eat, each of you goes ahead without waiting on anybody else. One remains hungry, another gets drunk. Now we know two things from this. First of all, they weren’t serving grape juice. They were serving wine. You know, the Bible doesn’t say, Be not drunk on grape juice, but be filled with the Spirit, but on wine. So we know that it was wine, and he’s saying, Don’t abuse the drinking of wine to get drunk. But here’s what the problem was. In Corinth, they were coming together for the Lord’s Supper, and one group was going ahead without waiting on the rest of the body of Christ to get there and have eaten up all the food and drank up all of the wine before the rest of the body arrived, and when they showed up, there was no food to eat or wine to drink, and in so doing, were taking the supper in an unworthy manner. They weren’t unworthy. They were taking the supper in an unworthy manner. What was the unworthy manner they were taking it, eating up all the food, drinking up all the wine before the rest of the body got there, not looking out for others, thinking of yourselves more highly than your ought, but instead merely gorging themselves with food and with wine, his solution to that verse 22 don’t you have homes to eat and drink in, or do you despise the Church of God? In other words, the people who are born again, people coming to share in his supper and humiliate those who have nothing. What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? Certainly not.
Now I’m going to go down to verse 27 I’ll come back to the other in a moment. Therefore, whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, what’s the unworthy manner they were eating the bread and drinking the cup of the cup? What was the unworthy manner they were doing that with they were not waiting for the rest of them. There you go. They were looking out after their own interests and ignoring the interest of others. Now it says, Therefore, anyone who eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body. In other words, you’re a part of the body of Christ, aren’t you, and when you’re eating up all the food and drinking the wine up before the rest of the rest of the body gets there, you’re sinning against your body and against the blood of the Lord. Now, what’s the blood of the Lord? Mean? Well, the Bible tells us that the life is in the blood, and so you’re sinning against the life that lives within the body. Christ, Jesus came to live within you, didn’t he? And that’s Christ in the body. So you’re sinning against the body other believers, and against the life of Christ that lives in those believers. A man ought to examine himself before he eats the bread and drinks the cup that isn’t sitting around in a modeling mood and Dimming the lights and having the Lord play just as I am, having the organ playing just as I am, as you sit there and try to hope that you got all your unconfessed sin out of your life so you don’t eat and drink judgment upon yourself, which is what you’ve been taught. It’s nonsense. He said to examine yourself. What do you mean? Examine yourself. Am I being a glutton, or am I waiting on the on the rest of the body before he eats and drinks? The cup for anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks, judgment on himself, judgment from who from the body. If you were going to show up at a Lord’s supper, and you showed up and here with all the people sitting over there, fat, dumb and happy and passed out from drinking too much and eating too much. Would you judge that group? Of course you would. Is there any judgment for you and your sins? No, no, you’ve already been judged. You were judged at the cross. So all Christians judged at the cross, the verdict was guilty, the punishment was death, and Jesus took it all. That’s why there’s none left for you. That’s why there’s no condemnation awaiting you, who belong to Christ Jesus, the condemnation of God towards sin has been placed on his Son, Jesus. So you’re the you’re eating and drinking judgment on yourself from the body.
Now I said that’s why many of you are weak and sick and a number of you have fallen asleep. That word can also be translated passed out. What are you doing? You drink too much and eat too much. Yeah, not that you’ve had that from experience, at least you you’ve seen others. Of course, that’s what happens to you. You’re just a glutton. You become a glutton. You drink too much, you pass out. Now, if we judged ourselves, now, what do you mean? Judging ourselves, Judge yourselves? Am I waiting on the body, or am I being a pig? We would not come under judgment from WHO? The rest of the body when we’re judged by the Lord which he is doing, here he is judging what they are doing, and his judgment is, you’re doing it wrong. When that occurs, you’re being disciplined. That’s what this book does for us. It disciplines us. That’s what the Bible does. It’s a disciplined book, a discipleship book. What for to teach us that we’re not thinking right. We’re not doing right. And so when we’re judged by the Lord, we’re being disciplined so that we’ll not be condemned with the world, so that the world doesn’t come in and say those Christians aren’t any different we are. Now, here’s a conclusion to this Lord’s Supper. Iris that has been so perverted that you wouldn’t even recognize it. This is the Lord’s Supper. So my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other. If anyone is hungry, eat at home. So that when you meet together, it may not result in judgment, judgment from who one another. Now that’s the Lord’s Supper. Can you believe what we’ve done with that? Yeah, isn’t something now does is there anything in there to cause you to be guilty? Is there anything in that that we just read that would say, Oh, I can’t take communion because I’ve sinned. Is there anything in there that even hint of that? No, no, not a thing. So what happened? You’ve been taught wrong. You’ve been taught error by people who want to control you by coming in and saying, If you key, if you sin, you better confess it. You better get forgiveness. When Jesus said, I’ve already given you forgiveness. That’s what I did at the cross. I took away your sins eternally from the eyes of God, and there is no more forgiveness of sins. You are a forgiven person. So how often should a forgiven person take communion? Is often. And as it’s given, what’s the purpose of it? To show you the picture of the day you came to Christ. Christ held up one loaf. He said, just this loaf represents one body. If you were going to look for Jesus 2000 years ago, you’d had to go to Israel and find Jesus of Nazareth. And there you would have found the body of Christ, wouldn’t you? He said, I’m going away, but when I do, it’s good for you that I’m going away, because when I do, I’m going to send my spirit to live in you, and you are going to become my body. Now this is the picture. Takes a loaf of bread, singular, you could have drawn it one piece, one piece of bread. We said, This is my body. It’s broken for you. So he breaks it and he passes it around, say, Take and eat. And as that piece of bread is consumed, it’s a picture of the day that you came to Christ, Jesus and became a member of the Body of Christ, the day of your salvation. It’s a picture of that. It doesn’t mean that’s when you’re saved. It’s a picture of it a visual aid after a while you pass the whole loaf around. And where is it? It’s gone. Where is it in you? It’s a picture of Christ, Jesus living in you, your hope of glory.
You then celebrate with the cup. What’s the cup? What’s the cup? Cup of the New Covenant. What’s the New Covenant? The New Covenant that went into effect at Christ’s death, where he said to your sins and lawless acts, I will remember no more. And where these have been forgiven, there is no more sacrifice for sins. To the Hebrew, you may as well forget the Day of Atonement. That sacrifice is over. There’s no more blood of bulls and goats that can cover sins. To the Catholic today, he’d be saying, I don’t know why he ever got a confession booth to begin with, but if you got one now, you ought to burn it because there’s no more forgiveness of sins. I took away your sins forever. To the Protestant, say, quit your stupid pride in thinking, Well, I don’t have to go through a priest to get forgiveness, I can go direct. No, you don’t. You’re already forgiven. That’s what Jesus did at the cross. God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting their sins against them. So Iris what the situation is is your sins have been taken away. There is no more sacrifice for sins. All of this stuff that people have been exposed to has been made up by man, but it’s not of God. There is no more forgiveness to be executed on your behalf. If there was, it says in the Bible that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. So in order to get more forgiveness. If there was more, Jesus would have to die again, wouldn’t he, right? So you got to do that. No, no. So what can you conclude about the one time that he did die? The only thing you can conclude is what he cried out from the cross. What’d he cry out from the cross? It’s finished, called paid in full. There’s nothing more that he can do. It’s done. He took away your sins eternally from the eyes of God in order to give you life called eternal life. And so you are a forgiven person if you’re in Christ Iris, and that only you know whether you’re in Christ or not. You’re not You’re not in Christ because you take a wafer. You’re not in Christ because you go to church. You’re in Christ because at a point in time in your history that you accepted by faith, the fact that Jesus took away your sins at the Cross forever, never to see them again, and that you accepted the fact that he entered into your death with you, so that raised from the dead, you could enter into His resurrection life with him. Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven. Salvation is getting saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life. And that’s his life, living in you, your hope of glory.
Now, if that has occurred in your life, then that forgiveness that was provided for you you know, 2000 years ago is received in Him in His resurrected life. That’s why it says In Him you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Where is that forgiveness that was provided received? In him. And so you’re a forgiven person. You’re not a person that has the capability of getting forgiveness. You are a forgiven person. Now that’s good news, isn’t it? Praise God, yeah. And so you should never, ever allow anybody to ever put you on a guilt trip again in regard to the fact that that you’ve sinned, we all have, and you’ll be sinning until the day you fall into the into the ground and die. And quite frankly, I think God left you with that capacity for a reason, and that is that our sins are what keep us dependent upon Jesus. You. Yeah, so Iris, just praise Jesus. You are a forgiven, redeemed, living Christian, Christian person in Christ, and don’t ever let anybody, as Paul says, put you back into the bondage of slavery under that legalism. Thank you. Well, you’re welcome, and I’m just tickled to death, Iris that you called and I’m and I’m thrilled with the fact that you’ve caught what was being said, and that’s why your heart is touched the way it is. It touches all of us. Okay, Iris, and same to you. You call anytime and you keep listening. Okay, okay. Iris, God bless you. God bless you. Bye, bye.” ~ Bob George
