Thank Jesus For What He Did at the Cross!

~ We ought to thank Jesus for the forgiveness he provided at the cross for us. If we are still asking for forgiveness to God, then we are not resting in His forgiveness. We in essence are saying, I don’t believe my sins were forgiven at the cross. Some are doing this because they don’t know any better. Others are doing it out of a prideful heart. They think their forgiveness is higher than God’s forgiveness. Jesus said it is finished. Everything was taken care of at the cross. There is nothing more for anyone to do. When a person realizes the TRUTH they say Thank you to God. Thanking him is our true confession of faith. Thanking him is the same meaning as Confess in the Greek word for Confess used in the Bible. Asking for forgiveness is the complete opposite of faith. Faith always says thank you.

~ When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. ^{John 19:30}

~ “Yeah, no, it’s a confession that we’ve talked about is confessing to get forgiveness, that to me is an abomination to God is thinking that I’m going to activate forgiveness because it’s already been done. Agreeing with God that I just blew it. That’s a part of the Christian life. I mean, if I insult you, it says, go confess your sins one to another. And so if I insult you, God’s already taken that sin away. But he what he wants me to do is to go to you and say, Jeff, look, act like a fool. And I’m sorry, forgive me. And so we thank God for what he has he has accomplished and then go to your brother and straighten it out. Or whatever happened if you went and stole something of God’s forgiven, that sin behind his back, never to see it again. And so what would you do with that? Well, you Thank You, Lord, I thank you that in the midst of what I just did, that you took that sin away and was punished for it 2000 years ago. Now, what do you want me to do? And he says, go back to the place where you stole something and return it, and try to pay for it if you can. Okay, so we’ve spent so much time Jeff trying to keep in fellowship with God that we’ve ignored what he said to do. And that’s better to to confess our sins one to another. Because that’s, that’s basically who we’re sitting against. Is each other.” – Bob George
