Faith Comes by Hearing, and Hearing by the Word of God

~ A person is saved by hearing the word of God. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God. When a person hears the truth of the word of God, and they respond to it by faith, then the Holy Spirit comes to live inside them and give eternal life the very moment in time. Faith is a very practical word. It is not just a biblical word. Faith is properly responding to truth. In the book of Hebrews chapter 11 we have examples of faith. For example, when God told Noah that he was going to flood the whole world and that he needed to build an ark, did Noah sit on his butt and not do anything? No, he did not. He followed God’s instructions and built an ark. Today, we are told that salvation is found only in Jesus and there is only ONE WAY to be saved. By placing faith in Jesus, God in the flesh, who took away the world’s sins (that includes your sins), and the same life that raised Jesus from the dead raises you and me from the dead when we agree with God. That is what true confession of faith is all about, agreeing with God. That is faith in a nutshell. Faith is NOT blind acceptance, but it is based on the Holy Spirit saying, “Come let us reason together. “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. Isaiah 1:18

Now that faith has come, faith continues on and on. It doesn’t stop at the point of salvation, but faith is from first to last. For the Holy Spirit will always continue to renew your mind and say to you in everything, “Come let us reason together.”

~ Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. ^{Proverbs 3:5-6}

~ Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. ^{Romans 10:17}

~ “And also Kristen for 2000 years people such as yourself him and myself, have experienced a, a born again experience in Christ Jesus. life change a time when we gave our hearts to Christ and something happened to us. It’s like, it’s like being a car, you’re like a car, who all your life didn’t have gas in it. It looked good. And, and you could sit in it. And you could have sought friends over. But it wouldn’t go anyplace. You weren’t going anyplace. And that’s what man is without God living in him. He’s a fun egg is a function be a functional being, but he hadn’t gone a place he has no meaning or purpose. Because God in the man is indispensable to the true humanity of the man, a man is not a true human, apart from God living in him. And so we we go through life, I went 36 years of my life, doing it my way, and did not know better. And then finally, someone will love me enough to tell me about the love of Christ. And that Christ died for my sins and was raised from the dead in order that that life that raised Him from the dead, can raise me from the dead, that I’m born dead spiritually. In other words, death is the absence of life. And the life of God is not living in me. And when I understood that truth, why then it’s the issue, do I want to remain dead? Or do I want life? And Jesus said, I came that you might have life? Why do you say they came at you, That You Might Have Life because we don’t have spiritual life apart from Jesus. And so, by faith, I thanked him for the fact that he took away eternally the cause of death, which was sin, never to see it again, to get away from the eyes of God never to see it again. And I thanked him for the fact that he was raised from the dead so that that life that raised Him from the dead, can raise me from my state of spiritual death. And I was born again, whole life changed. And that’s what must take place in a person’s life is individually, it’s just an individual time when God is tugging on a man’s heart. And he’s able to sit back and say, God, in order for me to be saved, there’s two things I need to know, I need to know what you said about me. And I need to agree with that. And I need to know what you said about yourself and agree with that. You said, I’m a sinner, I agree with you. You said that the consequence of sin is death, and I am dead spiritually. And I agree with you that I’m dead. You therefore said, I went to a cross to take away the sins of the world. And I thank you for that. And I was raised from the dead so that that life can that I was raised with can raise you from the dead. And I say, Lord, if I’m dead spiritually, and you want to come into my heart and to make me alive, that I’m asking you to come into my heart and to save me. And when that occurs, we’re born again. And when that occurs, Christian, everything starts clearing up. We have the ability to look at the word of God for the first time and starts making sense. Okay. Now Kristen, are you sure in your life that you have come to the point where you have done that, or you have accepted? Okay, Kristen, what I’m going to suggest is this, I’m going to suggest that you pick up our book, Classic Christianity will put you on hold in a moment and let you know how to do that. Your boyfriend needs to read through that book. And I think that if he’ll read through it with an open heart, it’ll answer all the questions that he has. And it’s been a great tool for leading people to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus, and I think that would be my recommendation for you.” ~ Bob George
