Classic Christianity – Book of Galatians P22 (09-16-24)

A Dead Person Needs Life

~ Today, many many people think they are alive, when in fact they are still dead in their unbelief. They do not have the Holy Spirit living in them for Life. They have not believed that Jesus is God in the flesh. They have not believed that God took away all their sins at the cross. They are the walking dead. Oh, they say they believe in Jesus, yet the Jesus they have placed Faith in is NOT the Jesus of the Word of God. They don’t understand that Jesus is actually God in the flesh. They don’t even realize that Jesus is actually the ONE who spoke everything into existence. He is the Creator of everything seen and unseen. They will say, Jesus was simply the son of God, having no clue what the “Son of God” title actually means either. They have placed Faith in what Man has taught Jesus to be, but they discount the word of God and what is said throughout the whole on the Truth of who Jesus actually is. And most will not even read the word of God today, because they think they know it all already. They may have even read through the whole Bible, and think, “okay, I’m done with that book, now let me get on to my next novel, written by a well know author that is on the New York Times Best Seller’s list. After all, that is much more interesting than reading the Word of God. Besides, I get my weekly dose of being taught religion from going to church, or listening to someone else teach online. I don’t need to read the Word of God for myself now.” They have never exercised Faith in what they are hearing. When the word of God says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5 we ought to pay attention to the details, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning.

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.” John 3:36

“For Christ is the end of the law, to bring righteousness to everyone who believes.” Romans 10:4

Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else. For each one should carry his own load. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor.

Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith.

Final Warnings and Blessings

See what large letters I am using to write to you with my own hand!

Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. They only do this to avoid persecution for the cross of Christ. For the circumcised do not even keep the law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

But as for me, may I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation.

Peace and mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of God.

From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers.

Amen. Galatians 6:1-18

Pray to God:

Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ “Okay, spiritually, it’s the same thing. We got a problem. It’s called death. Just as you have natural life, you have spiritual life, just as you have natural death, you have spiritual death. The difference is you’re born alive, and then you die physically, spiritually you’re born dead with the option to choose life. But I want to ask you another question, medically, if you could cure death, and let’s say you had a cure for physical death, but you didn’t cure disease, which is what caused death. How much sense would it make for you to exercise your cure for death and then let people get sick again and die? Would that make any sense? I got this cure for death. Well, marvelous. That’s wonderful. Did you cure what caused death? No, no, I didn’t cure that. You’ll get that again and die again. So now you’re Dracula, dead today, alive tomorrow, and back and forth you go. So the question is asked, if there was a cure for death, what would you have to do in order to give a person eternal life, not temporary life, eternal life, well, you’d have to cure the cause of death. Correct? Now, that’s what the Cross did. The cross is what took away the cause of death, sin. The wages of sin under God’s law, is what? Death. So you have to cure the cause of death in order to cure death, otherwise, you’re bringing a person alive and then dying again the next time you sin. So just as physically, you cannot cure death, physically, you also cannot cure spiritual death. Only Christ did that, and that’s what he did in his resurrection, He gave life to the dead. You and I are born into this world dead as a hammer.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a good corpse or a bad corpse. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Muslim corpse or a Buddhist corpse or a Presbyterian corpse, or a Baptist corpse or a Catholic corpse, it doesn’t make an ounce of difference. You’re dead as a hammer. And it doesn’t make any difference whether you’re a good Baptist or a good Presbyterian or a good Muslim or a good Buddhist, you’re dead. And there’s only one solution to spiritual death. It’s not Mohammed, it’s not Buddha. It is not the teachings of Jehovah’s Witness. It is not the teachings of Mormon. It’s not the teaching of Baptists or Presbyterian or Methodists. It’s Jesus period. It’s Jesus. That was God’s solution to Man’s problem.” ~ Bob George

Well, if you’ll turn to the last chapter now in the book of Galatians, about living by the Spirit. And God is Spirit, and you must worship Him in spirit and in truth. And we have to understand that. And one of the reasons that people have such difficulty with God is we try to put flesh and blood on God. That’s why people can’t understand the Trinity. They try to put flesh and blood on him. The fact is, God is Spirit. Now He revealed Himself to us in the person of Christ Jesus, when He sent His Son to this earth and put upon himself our Earth suit so that we could relate to him. How do you relate to spirit? How does a human being relate to spirit? And the answer to that is, you can’t. You can see the work of God in nature. You can look at nature and see his handiwork. But how in the world are you ever going to know what God is like? Is he merciful? Is he loving? Is he kind? Is he forgetful? We don’t know any of those things. And so he came to this earth taking upon himself our flesh and blood so that we can know what God is like. And that’s why Jesus said, If you have seen me, you’ve seen the Father. If you know me, you know what the Father is like. If you want to know what God is like, take a look at me, and you will know. And everything that God wanted us to know about himself has been revealed in Jesus, no one else. And in Hebrews, we’re told in time past that God spoke to us in various and sundry manners, but in these last days, he has spoken to us through His Son in whom we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. And so the revelation of God is over. The final revelation of God was over in Christ Jesus, who came to this earth and provided for us everything that we needed. Forgiveness at the cross, life through the resurrection.

We were born dead. And when you’re dead, you’re dead. And there’s no solution to that except life. I was talking the other day to a doctor work works with my son in law at the aerobic center, and I said to her, I said, Look, in the medical profession, have you ever been able to cure death? I mean, you’ve been studying medicine for 1000s of years. Have you ever cured death? And the answer to that is no. I said the problem with sickness is not sickness. The problem with sickness is it causes death. And until you’ve solved death, you haven’t solved anything. All you do in medicine is to try to curtail sickness. Hopefully it’ll extend the life a little longer, but to curtail sickness, maybe put some some restraints on it, but you never cure death. And ask, do you understand that? Yes, I understand that.

Okay, spiritually, it’s the same thing.

It’s Jesus. That was God’s solution to Man’s problem.

Now we don’t want to listen to God’s solution. So what do we do? We form religions. And you got the Muslims formed. You got the Buddh form. You got the Catholics formed. You got the Protestants formed. Everyone’s got religions formed to do what? Say, God, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Don’t tell me I’m dead. Why? Look at how good I am, and look at how alive I am, and look at like I saw I could not believe my eyes. Amy and I were driving to breakfast the other day here, pulled up the side of this great big Cadillac, and the license plate said, I tithe. I said, I wish I had one on a back of mine, saying, I don’t. How idiotic can you get? How prideful can you get? Is to put on your license plate, I tithe. Why don’t you put down I love? That’s the only thing Jesus said was important, was faith expressing itself through love. Why don’t you put I love on your license plate? So those kind of things have been going on and are going on today, and you see an influence of this constantly today, increasing in volume, and the more people keep talking about Muslims and this, the more you’re going to see more religion. And in religion, you got to compromise. If you’re going to practice religion, and let’s get everybody together, then you’re going to compromise. What separates you is what you believe. And when you stop believing anything, in order for to get unity, you have not you’re left with nothing. It’s like the church that I saw an ad in the paper. It said, Come to us. You’ll feel comfortable. We don’t believe in anything. You’ll feel real comfortable there.

And folks, we have to understand that what separates us from the world is Jesus. You can talk about God, the good boy upstairs, the man upstairs, the good Lord. But you mention Jesus and you gag on it, unless you know him. You can talk about God all day long, but if you don’t know Jesus, you’ll gag on his name. And my friends, I want to tell you something. We’re in a war, and the ones who are going to come into more problems than you can shake a stick at in the coming years. Are you sitting in this room right here, who call yourself Christians because we’re the only intolerant ones out there. Everyone else wants to be tolerant. Folks, I am not tolerant of error. This doctor I talked to said, Well, you know, I came from Singapore, and we got all kinds of religions over there, and we everybody gets along just real well and everything. And I said, you know, the guy that I know that got along better with anybody was Jesus, when they beat him half to death at the cross, he looked down and said, Father, forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing. That’s pretty tolerant to me. And they said, you know, the issue is that the issue isn’t how well we get along. The issue is, are you alive? Have you come alive? And folks tell me who else can give us life, except Jesus. Tell me that if you’re I mean, we’ve got to believe a couple of things. The first thing you have to believe is you’re dead spiritually. Do you believe that? Have you come to a point of understanding you’re dead as a hammer spiritually, until you have life? Are we still functioning in this religious realm of Who cares whether have life or not, I tithe, I go to church, and I have activities in church, and I go to church and church and church and church. And you hear more and more about that, don’t you?

And now prayers. And you got the Prayer of Jabez, and you see that 2 million copies of that thing sold, and say, what’s going on? Have you ever read that thing? What’s going on? Since when do we get the idea? A person said, it works. It, it. It works. What does it mean? I got my way. I prayed it for 30 days, and I got my way. Folks, think about your mind. Use your head. Think about it for a minute. Who is God, You or him? Now, if he is God, who’s the initiator? You or him? God is the initiator of all things. We don’t pray to him to get we already got. You don’t pray to Him expand my territory. That was to Israel. What’s that got to do with us? Well, if you prayed for 30 days, a formula, pray it for 30 days, it will work. One girl said, I prayed 30 days I got pregnant. I got news for her. She didn’t get pregnant by praying. There was another activity taking place there someplace.

But that’s how we’re thinking. If I do this, God’s got to answer. If I ask God, he’s got to forgive. Is that the way it goes? Or is did God say, I forgave. Now, enter into it. I’ve given you everything that you need for life and godliness. Now enter into it. I’m the boss. You’re not. I am God. You’re not. If you think you can call me up and influence my decisions, you’re nuts. I have already called you up. I’ve already given you everything you need. I gave you my Son. I’ve given you my Spirit to instruct you. I’ve given you my Spirit to counsel you. I’ve given you everything that you need for life and for godliness. Now, enter into it by faith and quit trying to deal in formulas to get me to do what you want done, as I’ve asked people, do you want your prayers answered, or do you want God’s will for your life? If you want God’s will for your life, then you better go to him to find out what it is.

Bob George 13:48
Now, he is saying to us, I took away the sins of the whole world. Do we believe that? Do you believe that there is any sin that you have or will commit that God has not taken away? How many believe that there’s no sin that you could commit that he hadn’t already taken away at the cross? Is that true or not? Did he go to a cross to cover sin like atonement, or did he go to cross to take away sin? And when you put God’s blood on the same par as a bowl and goat, you’ve diminished him down to the point of an animal, God’s blood was not the blood of a bowl and goat that covered sin called atonement. God’s blood was God’s blood, and that took away the sins of the world. God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting their sins against them. Do we believe that? There is no sin that I’ve ever committed that God has not taken away. Why did he do that? It because he loved me, because he loved me, and that’s what forgiveness is about. When we refuse to forgive a person, it’s because we don’t love them. Because when you love somebody, you forgive them. That’s why we are so lenient with our children when they do wrong. Don’t blame my kid. He is basically a good person. Why? Well, because we love them, and when you don’t forgive, it’s because we don’t love them. Now if we don’t forgive, then we sit there and say, I can’t forgive. I can’t forgive. No, that’s not your issue. That’s not the problem. The problem is you don’t love, and what did God command us to do? Love. So if you can’t love, go to God with that problem. God, I can’t love, I can’t love. And he says, I know it’s because you don’t understand my love for you, because it’s not that you love me, but that I loved you first, and until you’re grasping a hold of my love for you, you may think you’re grasping a hold of it, but you’re still under the Law. And the reason we cannot love people is because we’re not we have not resolved this fact that the sins of the world have been taken away. That’s why you can’t forgive. And so he’s saying you got a love problem. And if you got a love problem, you got a love problem. That isn’t a big deal to God. It isn’t taking him by surprise. Ooh, I didn’t know that. He knows we got a problem. And so he’s saying, I want to put love in your heart that is so of such a value that there’s nothing left for you to do except love one another. But you see, our hearts, our pride, is so strong that we can’t do that we want to hang on. It feels good to hang on to our resentments. It feels good, doesn’t it? Going to have me a pity party, and you have people who who live in such a way that they say, as marvelous as I am, the world ought to be treating me wonderful and I and I don’t deserve to be treated this way. So I’ll just go get drunk. I’ll show them, or I’ll go commit suicide. I’ll show them. Well, you really show them, all right. That doesn’t prove anything to anybody, but that’s the way our pride is. I’ll just show them. What is it? Pride.

Now, folks, what is he dealing with in this last chapter of the book of Galatians? It’s an attitude. He’s saying, brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, and what does that mean? Does that mean I caught you, or does it mean they’re trapped? You’re trapped in a sin. Now, if you’re trapped in a sin, what do we normally think of, trapped in what? Now normally we think, what? Alcohol, right? Drugs? Yeah. What else? Sex? Is that what you said? What?

What else we trapped in, the what? Yeah, materialism. We get trapped in that. But basically, what do we normally think of? Well, I’m trapped in a sin, drugs, alcohol, sex, you know, right? That’s, that’s a big three, and that’s what we think we’re trapped in. You say, my goodness, if that’s the case, why didn’t he just say if someone’s caught in sex, drugs or alcohol? He said, If you’re trapped, if you’re caught in a sin, trapped in a sin. What can you get trapped in? Can you get trapped in the sin of worry? Can you get trapped in a sin of critical spirit? Anybody trapped in that one? What else can you get trapped in, lust, fear? Good one, trapped in fear. Does any of that come from God? No. Fear doesn’t come from God. God didn’t give you a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind. What else do you give? You did what God didn’t give a selfishness. But all those are traps, aren’t they? So folks, again, we just have to realize that when we look at ourselves, we have to see something about our flesh, and that’s what we were talking about last week. There a good thing in it, and it isn’t that God came to save me a little bit. He came to save all of me. Why? Because all of me is a mess. You don’t need 10% Jesus or 20% Jesus. I call it a brill cream theology, where a little dab will do you, your whole thing is messed up. And that’s what he had to come to save, is you, not just what you’re doing, but to save you.

And so he’s saying, because of that, as we have grabbed a hold of that truth, here’s how we should respond to one another, brothers, if someone is trapped in a sin, you who are spiritual. Now, what does that mean? Those of you that had your quiet time this morning, or have I tithe on my license plate? Or walk around with your Bible under your arm, looking holy? What does it mean to be spiritual? It’s the opposite of being natural. Are you in Christ? Are you in Christ? Then what are you called? A spiritual being. So it’s like saying, If you who are in Christ, who have the Spirit of God living in you, that’s something real, you should restore him. Do you hear the word restore? Did you not hear condemn? It says, restore. Jesus said, I did not come to judge the world. If we are in Christ, and Christ is in us, what are we doing judging the world? What are we doing judging whatever sin this man is or woman is caught in, remember what the scripture said, hypocrite before you take the speck out of your neighbor’s eye. Take the log out of yours. Why does he say that? Because we all got logs. We could keep the fires burning all winter long with our logs. And he’s saying you are hung up on one sin. What about yours? What if people were as unforgiving towards your sins as you are toward theirs. He’s saying there’s an attitude that we should develop as a child of God, and that is quit judging each other, quit being so surprised when we sin. Should that surprise any of you when you sin, should you be? I mean, seriously, does anyone of you like that? Then why should you be surprised when someone else sins, when he says your flesh is always going to sin? Do you think God’s surprised when you sin? Ohh, I didn’t know you’re going to do that one. That’s a new one. Paul, he’s not surprised. I’m not surprised. So why do we act the way we do? He says to us, if you’re in Christ, you should restore a person how? Gently. Now? How gentle is it? How did you do that? One is that gentle restoration? If you have a gentle spirit, you have a spirit that says, we’ve all sinned. We’ve all fallen short of the glory of God. There is none righteous, no, not one. And my heart is deceitful above all things. And who can know it, but God gave me a new one. I have the ability to grab a hold of that divine nature that lives within me, and also have the ability to grab a hold of this old, yucky thing that I was born with, and the choice is mine, and sometimes I make a good choice, and sometimes I make a bad one. How about you? So he’s saying, restore gently to be gentle.

Bob Davis tells that story sometimes of a guy that’s got a talk program. Certainly I don’t call it biblical, but it’s a talk program that some young lady called in one time and talked about the fact that she was living, she had come to Christ, but she was living with her boyfriend, and who’s kind of eating her lunch, and this guy comes back and says, You’re nothing but a whore. Is that restoring gently? Is that judging? Is that self righteousness? Person like that ought to be taken off the air. If you, who are spiritual, see someone trapped in a sin, he says, restore him gently.

I’m going to ask you a question, folks, if you’re trapped in a sin, are you happy with the sin you’re trapped in? How many of you have a sin that you’re kind of trapped in? And say, oh, boy, you. It. You see, if you were happy with it, you’d be telling everybody about it, but you don’t tell anyone about it, because it’s eating your lunch. It kills you. And so we have to understand that we don’t need more beating up. We’re already beating ourselves up, enough that what we need is restoration, not condemnation. Christ is not condemning you. Why are we condemning each other? Why should this be such a big shock to us? It’s pride.

I had a lady on the air one time was talking and her husband had gone out and had an affair, and all can she just mad as wet hen. And my question to her, Would you be that mad if that was someone else’s husband, we wouldn’t be mad at all with someone else’s why you’re mad? Because it’s mine, and I understand that, but you’ve got to also understand why you’re so angry is because that’s mine, and God says, No, it isn’t. No folks, do you know that we should hang on to our relationships loosely, that the only relationship that we hang on tightly is him. You know why you’re not going to be married forever. As a matter of fact, the minute one of you die, that marriage is over, and when both of you die, it’s really over, and there’s not going to be marriages in heaven. That’s why some people call it heaven. There isn’t going to be any marriages up there. And so we have to understand these truths, that this is all temporary. It’s wonderful and marriage is a wonderful thing, but it’s temporary.
