Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P41 (01-21-25)

I Need 100% Jesus for My Life!

~ Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. John 6:35

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

Jesus is Life. We all need Jesus for Life. I don’t need a little Jesus only when I mess up. For without Jesus 100% of the time, I am nothing. “I am the vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are able to do NOTHING.” John 15:5 Yet we often hear people say, “I’m basically a good person” as though they are just a little bit bad sometimes, and that is what Jesus is used for for them. They use Jesus to get themselves cleaned up a bit, like “Scrubbing Bubbles” but only for when they think they need cleaning. They don’t think of themselves as bad at all. In fact, people say, to “look for the good in people.” Where in the bible does it say there is anything good in me or anyone? Where does the word of God say that people are good? “Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone.” Mark 10:18 “As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one.” Romans 3:10 Yet we give lip service to the words of God. Aren’t we indirectly calling God a liar when we say, “look for the good in people”? And if there is something good in people, why would they even consider turning to Jesus for life? Satan wants us to think that we are basically good people. He doesn’t want us to understand that we need the righteousness of God living directly in us. Nor does he want people to know that God can live in them for Life at this very moment in time. The enemy wants you believing that that is some sort of future event. Turn your eyes to Jesus. Listen to the Holy Spirit today for ALL TRUTH, and receive Jesus for LIFE.

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.

~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12

~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

~ I speak the truth in Christ. I am not lying. My conscience testifies for me in the Holy Spirit 2that my grief is great, and unceasing sorrow is in my heart. For I could wish myself to be a curse, separated from Christ for my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, whose is the divine adoption as sons, and the glory, and the covenants, and the lawgiving, and the service, and the promises; whose are the patriarchs; and from whom is Christ according to the flesh, being God over all, blessed to the ages. Amen.

And it is not as that the word of God has failed. For not all who are of Israel, are these Israel. Nor because they are seed of Abraham are all children. Rather, “In Isaac your offspring will be named.” That is, the children of the flesh, these are not children of God; but the children of the promise are regarded as offspring. For this is the word of the promise: “At this time I will come, and to Sarah there will be a son.”

And not only so, but also Rebecca, having conception by one, Isaac our father, for they not yet having been born nor having done anything good or evil, so that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling, it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger.” As it has been written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

What then shall we say? Is there injustice with God? Never may it be! For He says to Moses:

“I will show mercy to whom I may show mercy,

and I will have compassion on whom I may have compassion.”

So then, it is not of the willing, nor of the running, but of God showing mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: “For this very purpose I have raised you up, so that I might show My power in you, and that My name should be declared in all the earth.” So then, He shows mercy to whom He wants, and He hardens whom He wants.

Then you will say to me, “Why then does He still find fault? For who is resisting His purpose?” But rather, O man, who are you, answering against God? Shall the thing formed say to the One having formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” Or does the potter not have authority over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel unto honor, but one unto dishonor?

And what if God, desiring to show the wrath and to make known His power, bore with much patience the vessels of wrath, having been fitted for destruction, that He might also make known the riches of His glory upon the vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, even us, whom He has called not only out from the Jews, but also out from the Gentiles? As He also says in Hosea:

“I will call that which is not My people, My people;
and her not having been loved, having been loved,”

and,

“It will happen that in the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
there they will be called
‘sons of the living God.’”

And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the sons of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.

For the Lord will perform the sentence
He is concluding and bringing swiftly upon the earth.”

And, as Isaiah foretold:

“If the Lord of Hosts had not left us descendants,
we would have become like Sodom,
and we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

What then will we say? That Gentiles, not pursuing righteousness, have attained righteousness, and righteousness that is by faith; but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not attain to that law. Why? Because it was not by faith, but as by works. They stumbled over the stone of stumbling, as it has been written:

“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling,
and a rock of offense;
and the one believing on Him
will never be put to shame.”

Romans 9:1-33

Pray to God:

Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ “And that’s what people do. They say, I don’t need a lot of Jesus. They kind of got a brill cream theology. Just a little dab will do you. I’m about 80% okay. I just need a little dab of Jesus to be okay. No, you don’t. You need 100% of Jesus. There’s not one thing in the 10 Commandments that we’re not capable of committing, not a one. And the issue is, what we have to do is to realize that, and Jesus came when he was here on this earth, to amplify that truth. He amplified the law. He said the law says, don’t commit adultery. I say to you that if you that if you look at a woman with lust in your heart, you’ve already committed adultery. And all the men say, I’ve had it. He said, Yeah. And the women say, I’ve had it too, because you’re fantasizing same thing. And he said, the Bible says don’t be commit murder. I say, if you’re angry at somebody, you’ve already committed murder in your heart. And we say, how many of us have gone through this life and never been angry at somebody? What does that tell us about ourselves? If you’re capable of getting angry, you’re capable of murdering now, that shouldn’t be discouraging to us. That ought to tell us truth, and that’s what Jesus came to do. He came to prepare us for what he came to do. He came to take away the sins of the world and to give life to the dead. If I don’t see I’m dead, what I need with his life. If I don’t see I’m a sinner, what do I need of this forgiveness.” ~ Bob George

And that’s what people do. This Mel Gibson field that everybody comes out, people are talking about, oh, the Jews are offended because they say, the Jews killed Jesus. I killed Jesus. I’m not a Jew. My sins. Killed Jesus. Didn’t yours. He died for the sins of the world. Jews sins, Gentile sins. And people say, Oh, that’s going to make people if you think that the Jews were they behind the death of Jesus, absolutely. Paul said that he killed them. They were the instigators behind the death of Jesus. Who carried out the execution? The Romans, the Gentiles. That means we’re all guilty. And I say if you’re going to get mad, because Mel Gibson has a dramatic film on the fact, showing how Jesus died and who was instigating and killing him, then quit showing movies about the Holocaust, because that’s an offense to me, because I’m a Gentile, and you’re talking about Hitler, and he was a Gentile, that makes me look bad as a Gentile. That’s nonsense, and we have to understand that as nonsense. But that’s how people are. We’re so sensitive about these things. You know, I don’t care what Hitler did. I don’t have anything to do with Hitler. And just because the Jewish leaders back in there instigated the death of Jesus, that doesn’t mean today, if you’re a Jew, you’re a part of that. But there’s a lot of people who feel that way, and they’re scared to death that there’s going to be some kind of a retaliation against the Jewish people because of a film. Well, then how come there’s not a retaliation of the Gentiles over the films about Hitler? And so it’s time for us to sit back and to start thinking and using our minds that God gave us to think these things through and to be praise God that there is a film coming out that’s finally going to depict the death of Jesus as it is. In the Bible says, beaten as no man, tortured as no man. And I believe, from what I understand, this film depicts it. I can’t wait to see it.

Well, let’s get on with what the Scriptures are talking about here then. It says in verse 30 of chapter nine, what shall we say then, that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness, the Gentiles were not pursuing righteousness, they were pursuing fun and games, but they’ve obtained righteousness. Said, Yeah, that’s right, a righteousness that is by faith. Said, Yeah, you got it. But Israel, who precede a law of righteousness, have not attained it. Said, Yeah, you got it. Why not? Now isn’t that a logical question? Why haven’t we, who have been trying to be righteous? Why haven’t we obtained righteousness? When these Gentiles over here haven’t been trying at all, and you say they’ve attained righteousness, does that sound fair? It doesn’t sound fair. I’m trying. And you know, you get people today say, Well, I say you can’t obey the law, I know, but I’m trying. Well, that’s like trying to jump over 100 foot crevice you’re not going to make. It doesn’t make any difference whether you get two inches to the other side or you strip as you jump, you’re not going to make it. So trying is not the issue. The issue is, do you want to stand in the presence of God righteous? Because you’re not going to stand in front of a righteous God unless you are righteous. Are we together? So how many of you want to be righteous? Okay, how many are going to get it on your own? Nobody that you’re going to have to stand clothed, as it says, In the righteousness of Christ, Jesus and so to the Hebrews say, Well, we’re working at it, and they’re not, I know, but the working of it’s not going to get it, and you’re working it up, but you didn’t get it. You failed. And so we’ve all failed, All have sinned, all have fallen short, have we not of the glory of God? So it says they’ve not attained it. Why not? Well, because they pursued it, not by faith, but, as it were, by works. They were trying to work their way for acceptance in God. Folks, think about for a moment in relationships, if you have to work at being accepted, how many of you ever tried to work at being accepted, say, by your parents or by your mates? I’m going to work at it. Does it work? No, it seems like the harder you work, the more you get rejected, you can’t work at acceptance. You love one another. Is that a sign someone’s going to love you back? Did Jesus love people? Did they all love him back? No. So when we love people, are they all going to love you back? If you go out and do something nice for somebody are they going to say, Oh, that’s good. I’ll do something nice for you. Some might, some may not. So in other words, you have to keep your eyes off of results. Results are always in the hands of God. Never can you produce results. I can make up a decision that I’m going to go help somebody be nice to somebody. Well, what are the results? Are that going to be that’s up to God. That’s up to God. I can’t control that. And sometimes I like the results, and sometimes I don’t, don’t you?

And so he’s saying to us, it doesn’t make any difference how hard you’re working. It isn’t going to work. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. Now, who’s the stumbling stone here? It’s Jesus. They stumbled over him. They didn’t want to think that there’s a man that you can come to that will provide for me everything that my heart has ever wanted, every desire My heart has been met in Christ Jesus. It cannot be met in my wife. It can’t be met in my kids. It can’t be met in you. It has to be met in Christ Jesus. The desire every man has an insatiable desire to be loved unconditionally, to be accepted unconditionally, and to have meaning and purpose to your life. Every person sitting in this room has an insatiable desire for that to be loved unconditionally, to be accepted. Will somebody just accept me for who I am, and to have meaning and purpose to life. Why am I getting up in the morning? Am I right or wrong? Now, folks, here’s where the catch comes. Satan comes along and says, Oh, that’s a need of the soul. What you got for Mom and Dad, you’re you can get that met with people and places and things, and so we get married thinking, well, that you know, she’ll provide unconditional love to me. Is that true? I’m not talking about my wife, I’m talking about yours. Oh, they’ll accept me unconditionally. My husband will accept me unconditionally, so true, and when I get married, I’m going to have meaning and purpose to life. All my life, I’ve known full well, if I could just get married, I’d have meaning and purpose to life. I got some people sitting in my office saying, If I could just get married, I’d be the happiest person alive. And I got the next person come in and say, If I could just get divorced, I’d be the most happy person in life. And you feel like saying, I’d like to get you guys together, these two. Folks, the desires that we have to have meaning and purpose to life and to have unconditional love and acceptance is not a need of the soul. It’s a need of the spirit.

Now, what separates the human kingdom from the animal kingdom is the fact that a dog, as an example, has a soul. Your soul is your internal personality, your mind, your emotion, your will. The dog has a will, we know that. And it has a mind. That’s debatable, but sometimes and they have emotion. You can see their dog, their little tail wag when they’re happy. They have emotion, but they don’t have a spirit. A dog is not sitting around contemplating God. A man is not sitting around with a God shaped vacuum, or a dog with a God shaped vacuum in his heart. Man does. That’s his human spirit. We’re born into this world. As it said, there’s a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man that can only be filled by His Son, Jesus Christ. You walk through this life until the day that you came to Christ as your Lord and Savior. You walked through this life with a vacuum wanting to know something that you don’t know, knowing that something is missing. Am I right or wrong? And I don’t know what it is that’s missing, but something’s missing. And you go through life like that, and then all of a sudden, as I did with age 36 I accepted Jesus, and everything was fulfilled. And you sit and said, I could have done that when I was six. Why did I have to wait to 36 to come to Jesus? And it’s like the Lord said to you, you’d have some compassion on people who are lost. And that’s exactly right. Why do the things happen to us that happen to us so that we can take the same comfort that we’ve received from God and pass that on to others with that same comfort that we’ve received from God.

And so we realize that that’s a need of the soul. That’s not a spiritual it’s a need that cannot be met, excuse me, through the soul. It’s a spiritual need, and your need for unconditional love and unconditional acceptance and meaning and purpose to life is a need that can only be met in Christ Jesus period, that can’t be met out here. Now, when we don’t understand that, and you see, Hebrews says that the Word of God is sharper than a two edged sword. It divides asunder the soul from the Spirit. So we do need to argue whether there’s a difference between the soul and the spirit. There’s a difference and the spiritual aspect has needs, just like your soul has needs and your body has needs, and if you’re not met, you’ll die. So does your spirit have needs. You have a need to be loved unconditionally. You have a need to be. Accepted unconditionally, and you have a need to have meaning and purpose to life. Now Satan comes along and says, you can get those needs met out here. And God says, No, you can’t. You see when I don’t understand that that need for unconditional love and acceptance cannot be met in my wife or my kids. It can only be met in God. And if I don’t understand that, we become like ticks on a dog and married, sucking the life at each other, trying to get our mates to meet those needs. I got a need for unconditional love meet it. They say I can’t. Well, I gotta, need to be loved unconditionally and to be accepted. Will So will you just accept me the way I am? No, can’t be done. Can you give me meaning and purpose to life? Well, maybe go into the ministry that’ll give you meaning and purpose to life. No, it’ll give you headaches, but it won’t give you meaning and purpose to life. There’s only one person that’ll give you meaning and person with purpose to life, and that’s Christ, Jesus and folks, until you have come to rest in Him, and I’m talking about abiding, I’m talking about resting in Him, and you have come to him saying, Lord, there’s no one else that can give me unconditional love, unconditional acceptance and meaning and purpose to life, except you and you alone. And I am getting rid of these concepts that somebody else can do it, that my wife can do it, or my husband do it, or my kids can do it. I’m getting rid of that. It’s not true. It’s an unrealistic expectation, and I’m counting on you and you alone, to bring to me the needs of my heart. The basic needs of my heart are met in you. That’s why we talked about before I left, what did Paul say? I’m convinced of something. What’s he convinced of? Nothing can separate me from the love of God. Trials can’t, death can’t, tribulation can’t, hardships can’t, knowing all these things, he said, We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. And I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Bob George 14:09
What is Paul doing? He’s putting his dependency for meaning and purpose, to life, for acceptance and for love where? On God alone. Now, once that is done, then in marriage, you’re able to take a deep breath and say that needs met. Now I could start thinking about how to serve one another in love, which is what we ought to be doing in marriage. Don’t get married to get get married to serve. Here’s a woman that I want to serve for the rest of my life, and here’s a man I want to serve for the rest of my life. Why? Well, because my need for unconditional love and acceptance, meaning and purpose life has already been met in Jesus, so I don’t need to look to her to meet it. What I can do now is take a deep breath and think about how to serve somebody else in love. You see what we’re getting at.

Now, as an example, you come to me and say, Bob, I really need some counseling. I haven’t eaten in three weeks. Do you how interesting Do you think I’m going to be in your marriage problem? Give me a McDonald’s and a milkshake, and then we’ll talk about your marriage problem, because I’ve got a physical need that’s got to get met. I’m starved. Do you get what talking about, until that need is met spiritually, you are not in a position to serve one another in love. You’re just not. You’re not ready. And that’s why it’s so important for us to come to Jesus and to not just to come to him with verbiage and words, but to come to Jesus with our whole hearts and come to him to receive what He came to give you. I have given you everything that you need for what? Life and for godliness. I’ve given it all to you. Now rest in that. Love me back. I love you perfectly. Love me back. It’s the most natural thing for us to do, let that need be met in me and you will be free to love one another and to let the love that I’ve given to you spiritually flow through to the body of Christ, on the level of the soul and the body and marriage.

So he says, you’ve stumbled over this stumbling stone. You’ve tried to get religion. You’ve tried. How many times are people and we hear this all the time, well, I’m a Lutheran, or I’m a bad Well, I’m a Catholic and I’m a, I’m a, I’m a, I’m a, and I say, Why do you identify yourself for where you go spend an hour on Sunday? Is that who you are? I’m not a Baptist or a Presbyterian or a People to Peopler. That’s where I go. Tell people I go to the bathroom too, but don’t want to be called a toilet. You have to understand that this is that you’re not your identity is not based on where you go. Your identity is based on who you are. I’m a child of the living God. That’s the identity that God gave me. Presbyterians didn’t give that to me. Baptists didn’t give it to me. Jesus gave it to me, to as many as received me, I give you the right to become what? A child of the living God. That’s who I am. I’m a child of the living God who happens to be in the ministry. I’d be a child of the living God if I was a garbage collector, I’d be a child of the living God if I was an attorney, well, I’m not sure about that, but I’d be a child of living God if I was a medical physician. Because what those are just things I’m doing. And I tell people sometimes, who are you? I’m a surgeon. Who would you be if your hands were cut off? Who would you be? And you can’t answer that. You see, those are temporary things, but I’m going to be a child of the living God throughout eternity. And so are you, each one of you who are in Christ, Jesus, you have a destiny, and that you’re going to enter, one of these days, into the presence of God as a child of the living God. Come my son, come unto me. And that’s the good news of the gospel.

Now he said to the Hebrews, they were stumbling over this. They were trying to gain their acceptance through their religion and through their their acts of righteousness, and through their good deeds and through their tithing records, and just like us today. And he says, You stumbled, you’ve missed the point. It says, See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame, never. Now Paul is saying something that is almost that is amazing. He says, Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. Now Paul is saying that even though it is God’s will that none should perish and all should come to repentance, is that God’s will? We’re told that, aren’t we? It is God’s will none should perish, all should come to repentance, and yet are all going to? So even though that is God’s will, you see, some people put this sovereignty stuff and say, Well, wait a minute, if it’s God’s will, that’s it. That’s it. Well, that would be it. If we were all made robots. Were you made a robot? Were you given a free choice and a free will to choose right from wrong good from evil? Didn’t Adam choose? Didn’t he have the right to choose right from wrong, good from evil in the Garden of Eden, what did he choose? Chose the wrong way. And so you see, we were given a choice, and because God’s sovereignty gave his creation a choice that’s a part of his sovereignty is I gave you the ability to choose, just like I God can choose now that means that even though it is my will, if I was God, that you wouldn’t perish and all of you would come to repentance. That does not mean all of you are going to choose to come to repentance. That doesn’t mean that. That means some are going to say, I’m not going to do that. I don’t want to do that. I don’t need Jesus, even though it’s God’s will, and God is sovereign, but part of his sovereignty was giving man a choice. All of you have choices, all of us have choices. And so because we have the ability to choose, even though it’s God’s will that none should perish and all should come to repentance, he knows full well that our all aren’t going to and so does Paul. Unfortunately, there are people today that don’t know that, then they go out and teach and everybody’s going to be saved because it’s God’s will. That’s about some nonsensical teaching you can come up with.

Brothers my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. I would pray that they would be saved. You remember where Paul later, another point, said I’d give up on salvation for the people, my own people of Israel, for I can testify about them. They’re zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Folks, you got two camps of people, one who have a zeal for God but not in accordance with knowledge, and another that are always studying and never coming to truth. You got those two extremes, the peril of the pendulum. Some that are constantly studying never able to come to truth, and the others have a zeal for God, but it’s not according to knowledge. You can see that in denominations, I can I can name them, not going to take a name denominations, they have a zeal for God. They don’t have an ounce of knowledge. All is experience. Everything’s experience. And don’t have to make a difference whether it cares, whether it’s true or not. It’s all experience. Then you got people, it’s all tradition. I don’t know where it’s true or not, don’t care, but it’s tradition that’s our tradition. And Jesus spoke to that issue is you follow your traditions, but you don’t come to truth. And so you those, these kind of things that Paul’s talking about here, as it related to the Hebrew and Gentile is very much evident in our society today, since they did not know that righteousness that comes from God, and there’s the key from they sought to establish their own and they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

You got two kinds of righteousness, self righteousness and God’s righteousness. Self righteousness makes God sick of his stomach. People who walk around thinking they are so righteous. And again, guys, I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I have difficulty getting my arms around somebody, anybody thinking that we’re so good that God would accept us because of our goodness. I have trouble with that. Now, if you knew me, you’d know why I had trouble with that. But the issue is, I have trouble with that. I have trouble with how could anyone be so deceived as to thinking the of the purity of God and that I could walk into his presence with his purity, walk into there with no thoughts at all that I’ve ever done anything wrong. I’ve just been as good as gold all my life. Nothing wrong with being good, but if you think you’re good, something’s wrong with that. If you have led a life that have been sheltered from a lot of the things of the world, praise God for that. Praise God for that. Don’t sit around thinking, ooh, look at me, how wonderful I am. Just praise God for it. That’s the attitude of, I thank God I’m like a sinner like him. I’m pointing to Paul over here, thank God, and I’m not that attitude. And then the other guy that says, oh, Lord, have mercy upon me a sinner. Now, which one’s going to get into heaven? Lord, have mercy upon me a sinner, not that I’m so glad that I’m not a sinner like him.

And so we get these attitudes, that we kind of get our little standards, well, I’ve never done this and this and this, so therefore I’m better than you, because you’ve done this and this and this. And again, if you haven’t done this and this and this, praise God, you’ve been saved from some garbage in your life, if anything, that you’ve been saved from. Praise God for I’ve never used drugs. I don’t think you could tempt me with drugs. I think you could put me in a room, this room full of drugs, it wouldn’t tempt me at all. Never used them, never had a desire to. Now that’s the only thing I can think of that I’d never be tempted about. That’s the only I’ve thought about that too, given some thought about that, it’s the only thing I can think of, but it’s not a temptation. Well, what I sitting around saying somebody’s taking drugs, ooh I’m much better than you are. I don’t, I don’t take drugs, but you do. Now, what kind of an attitude would that be? And yet, there are people who carry those kind of attitudes. Yes, and folks we’ve those are the kind of attitudes that God wants to get underneath the skin and to show us they are not attitudes of God. If you have not done something, if you’ve not been tempted to do something, if you’ve not fallen into temptation to do something, Praise Jesus for it. Thank God for it. But don’t look down on others who have because they’re going to look down on your weaknesses as well. And we all have them, don’t we?

So he says, instead of establishing this righteousness that comes from God, they sought to establish their own. Now look at this next verse, folks. Verse four. Christ is the end of the law. The end of the law. Now, guys, how much clear does this statement need to be? I mean, do we need the Greek on this? Christ is the end of the law. How come Christ is the end of the law? What’s it say? Guys, so that there may be righteousness for everyone who does what? Believes. Will anyone ever be declared righteous in the sight of God through the law? Are we all together? Then that’s why Christ is the end of the law. Then what was the purpose of the law? To show us we don’t have any righteousness. The purpose of the law is to show a man his sin, so that he will turn to Christ for salvation. The law is like a mirror. You look into the mirror and it says, Your face is dirty. Have you ever tried to wash your face in the mirror? You can’t wash your face in the mirror. You hear a tapping on your shoulder, and you turn around and there’s Jesus, who says, Bob, what did the mirror show you? Said, my face is filthy. He said, Do you want it cleansed? So I sure do. He said, turn to me and I’ll cleanse you of all your unrighteousness and give you life. The mirror has done its work, and now he’s going to do his.
