Discovering the Grace of God Through His Word

~ There are people today that place the emphasis on learning about the grace of God by going to a seminary. Or hearing from someone that is a doctor of divinity, as though that piece of paper places a person on a pedestal of understanding in order to teach the word of God. There are even people today that want to know what seminary a person has gone to as to whether they are going to listen to that person or not. Once again, these all are a form of man’s teaching instead of being taught by the Holy Spirit.

The number one place to learn about the grace of God is through the Scriptures. Once a person has accepted Jesus, and the Holy Spirit comes to live in them, they will want to know more and more about Jesus. And the prime place to learn is the actual word of God. And the Holy Spirit will explain the meaning of God’s Word too. It all begins with the foundation of Jesus, and the meaning of the cross and the resurrection for Life. Once a person grabs a hold of that, it is impossible to remain quiet and not tell someone, especially when the Holy Spirit is leading you into All Truth and understanding. You will want to shout it from the rooftops.

So allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in what he would have you do. Simply make yourself available to him, to allow him to use you as he sees fit. That is your proper worship today.

~ Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ^{Isaiah 1:18}

~ Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. ^{Romans 12:1}

~ “Well, Jacob, I think as far as what you’re talking about, I think that if you’re in a situation, there’s basically in a church setting where a pastor is on board with the teaching of the grace of God and you’re not going to be in conflict with him. That it would be a wonderful opportunity for you regardless of the size of the church to begin in, in teaching in teaching an adult Sunday school class or whatever it might be, or home Bible studies, or begin to develop people to teach home Bible studies and and use the materials that are available we’ve got all kinds of materials for that type of thing that can help people but yeah, that’s that’s you will grow more in your knowledge of the grace of God teaching than about any other way I can think of the only way that you could I don’t think if you if you’ve got a good grasp on the grace of God, I don’t think you’re there’s any way in the world you’re going to fall back into legalism unless you got into an extremely legalistic church and then you know, that influence continued to, to grow in your life. But if you’re in a grace, teaching church, why you’re gonna, you’re gonna just grow and grace. So I think it sounds like a great opportunity to me.”

“There are, George, there’s no Bob George attitudes, and there’s all scripture. Yeah. And the the issue is that, you know, we’ve gone up against some pretty hard headed legalists. But when you sit there and just point scripture after scripture after scripture, you get down to the point or person and say, How can argue with this is what’s the Scripture saying. And so I think if you go in there with a kind heart, and we’re gonna go through and teach this, teach it in Sunday school, teach it from the pulpit, and just go from Scripture to Scripture to Scripture. And I don’t know whether you have PowerPoint that you can use, that’s an excellent way of having more groups. So just a small group, you might be able to use an overhead or whatever, but to have the scriptures in front of them, or to force them to open up their Bibles and read the scriptures, and they like to read their Bible. Yeah. So I think you’ve got a great opportunity there. And I don’t think I think that if you go in and just go through, just like we’ve done it, start with a foundation, the foundation is Jesus. The foundation from Jesus is the Word of God. And whether you’re gonna believe it or deny it, you get into the New Covenant that we live in today, which is vitally important for people to understand right off the bat, that we’re under a New Covenant, not the covenant of the law that kills but a covenant of grace that gives life. And, you know, what I’ve found is going through these things that we’ve we’ve had people out of the most legalistic churches in America that sat through one of our conferences and came out of it just totally with their life totally turned around. Because you can’t argue with scripture.” ~ Bob George
