The Law of Love

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P40 (05-10-21)

Synopsis

The one thing people are looking for is unconditional love and acceptance. We cannot give that to someone else, not in the energy of our flesh. So much marital strife is because one spouse has unrealistic expectations on another, expecting their partner to provide what he or she is unable to provide. Yet, the Lord Jesus Christ commands us to love one another just as He loved us. So what is Jesus saying to us? Is He telling us to do something that is impossible for us to do? Yes and no, because it is not us doing it.

The key to the Christian life is a life of dependency, of trust in the one who loves you perfectly, and only God can do that, for God is love. Jesus, as the second Adam, modeled perfectly for us how we are to live. He limited Himself in the use of His divine attributes in a manner that we would have to relate to God, after having the Spirit placed in us at a new spiritual birth. Was it not from His complete dependency upon His Father? … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

The disciples of Jesus recorded down the fulfillment of prophecy, of the things they saw and heard, what was fulfilled, as written down through the prophets. How can you not say, “This man must have been the Messiah!”? But as you look deeper into the scriptures, you realize the attitudes of the heart of all mankind is made known.

We look at the attitude of Judas, who obviously betrayed Jesus, but later recognized his wrong and tried to make it right. He was filled with remorse. Yes, he betrayed Jesus, and so did all the disciples, including Peter. What was Judas main problem? He thought he could manipulate God into doing what he wanted Him to do, which would cause deliverance of the Jews out of Roman rule. He had the mind of natural man but was blind to the things of God. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Bob George RadioWelcome to Classic Christianity radio from Bob George. From the original People to People radio, on the air for over 30 years, Bob answers questions from callers. He explains spiritual truth, applying such truth so men can walk in freedom in Christ for which Christ has set them free. Sometimes callers simply thank Bob for helping them understand truth and are deeply grateful. Other callers are bogged down in error from things they have heard or been taught in religion. Beth calls to ask Bob if it is a sin to not go to church. Bob tells her it is not a sin and explains what the church really is and explains the role of pastors and elders and the role of Jesus Christ as the head of the true church, which is His body. Lisa asked if under a New Covenant if man can have more than one wife. Bob answered from scripture that the answer is clearly no. And even under the Old Covenant and even from the beginning of creation, in Genesis God’s design has always been one man and one woman in what is rightly called marriage. Classic Christianity – Book of John p9 (10-30-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues teaching from the book of John, reminding people of the gospel that was preached to you. As believers, we have the wonderful privilege to share that same gospel message to others. He starts by sharing the mental roadblocks that prevents believers from sharing the greatest news ever. He reminds u again of how we would respond to truth when we were first lost in sin. Did we all accept the message upon first hearing? Some did. Others did not. So why do we not share? Sometimes we look to our insecurities, perceived lack of abilities in sharing truth, or even simply our fear of man in what they might think. Bob then shares some practical advice, from personal life experiences of God’s work in him, and finishes by sharing again what the gospel really is.

Bob George shares again the story of Jesus encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well and his testimony of how his unsaved preacher came to know Christ through a simple letter that touched his heart. Bob used the passage to explain how his friend, Charles Spurgeon, did not know God, but God knew … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
