Observations of Life Part 3

~ “For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life.” John 3:16

Everyone is given a choice today. It comes down to placing Faith in Jesus, God in flesh, or placing faith in Satan and the things of the world. The One Way brings eternal life. The other way brings eternal death apart from Jesus. People are more than willing to listen to the teaching of Man and demons, which is the wide road to death and destruction of souls. Yet very few are willing to listen to the Holy Spirit calling them to Himself. They make every excuse under the sun for not even listening to the TRUTH of the word of God. And they are content to sit on their couches, being entertained by the ongoing circus as long as they have bread for their bellies, and escapism for their minds, and all the while Jesus is saying, “Come to Me for Life.”

For in this world, there is nothing more important than knowing Christ Jesus. The Apostle Paul knew this Truth, that everything else is dung in this world, compared to knowing Jesus.

“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,” Philippians 3:8

Everything Is Futile

1 These are the words of the Teacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem:

2 “Futility of futilities,”
says the Teacher,
“futility of futilities!
Everything is futile!”
3 What does a man gain from all his labor,
at which he toils under the sun?
4 Generations come and generations go,

but the EARTH REMAINS FOREVER.

5 The sun rises and the sun sets;
it hurries back to where it rises.
6 The wind blows southward,
then turns northward;
round and round it swirls,
ever returning on its course.
7 All the rivers flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full;
to the place from which the streams come,
there again they flow.

8 All things are wearisome,
more than one can describe;
the eye is not satisfied with seeing,
nor the ear content with hearing.
9 What has been will be again,
and what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there a case where one can say,
“Look, this is new”?
It has already existed
in the ages before us.
11 There is no remembrance
of those who came before,
and those yet to come will not be remembered
by those who follow after.

With Wisdom Comes Sorrow

12 I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 And I set my mind to seek and explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a miserable task God has laid upon the sons of men to occupy them!

14 I have seen all the things that are done under the sun, and have found them all to be futile, a pursuit of the wind.

15 What is crooked cannot be straightened,
and what is lacking cannot be counted.

16 I said to myself, “Behold, I have grown and increased in wisdom beyond all those before me who were over Jerusalem, and my mind has observed a wealth of wisdom and knowledge.”

17 So I set my mind to know wisdom and madness and folly; I learned that this, too, is a pursuit of the wind.

18 For with much wisdom comes much sorrow,
and as knowledge grows, grief increases.

…..

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.

~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12

~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

Pray to God:

Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”

~ ”
And so we have a choice, and Solomon observed this. There’s a choice. He observes all these things that are true. Quite frankly, if I had to have Christ living in me, it’s what he says, no different than an animal going to die, same as they do, but because of what God did in his love and mercy, sending His Son to us, entering into our humanity with us, and being tortured by the very people that he created and crying out from the cross. Father forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing. If that isn’t mercy, then I don’t know what mercy is. If that isn’t kindness, then I don’t know what kindness is, and if that isn’t love, then I don’t know what love is. A choice. God gave us a choice. Let’s pray today,

Father, apart from you, Solomon was able to declare that the dead who had already died are happier than the living, who are still alive, but better than both is he who has not yet been, who has not yet seen the evil that is done under the sun, Father, we have a choice. We live in a spiritual warfare on this earth. And regardless of whether we’re young or old, we need to step back and think, just as Solomon is doing, think, think through things, observe things. And when you observe life, you recognize there really is no meaning and purpose to it, apart from being available to the living God to live his life in and through us. But before that can occur, we must have his life, and if there be one, in the sound of my voice today that has maybe been to church, maybe been religious, but you found out that also is meaningless. It doesn’t satisfy the deepest desires of the heart, and today I want to accept Jesus alone. Nothing added to him and nothing subtracted from him, but Jesus alone as my Lord and Savior, the one who took away my sins at the cross, so that you could offer eternal life to the dead. And I want to come alive today.

And if that is your desire in the quietness of your own heart, just pray these words. It’s not the words but your attitude of your heart. Lord Jesus, I thank you for taking away my sins at the cross, never to see them again, putting them behind your back and not dealing with them again. But you gave us life, and I want to receive you into my heart as my Lord and Savior. And to as many who has received him, he gave the right to become a child of God. You have a new identity. You know who you are, you know why you’re here, and you know where you’re going. And those age old questions that has plagued man for centuries has been answered in one person, and his name is Jesus, and it’s in His wonderful name that we pray. Amen.” ~ Bob George

Bob George 0:30
And by the grace of God, Amy and I watched the television program one night, and we saw a group of young people talking about Jesus, and weren’t talking about religion, talking about Jesus. And it stirred my heart when I saw it. Remember this one guy who was just won the Olympics in weight lifting, and he said, All my life I searched for power, and I found it in the person of Jesus Christ. What’s he talking about? I’d been around religion, couldn’t stand it. This guy’s talking about Jesus talking about a relationship. I didn’t know that. I did not have a clue that this emptiness inside of me was because I was empty of God. Because you’re not born with God living in you. You’re not born. Born alive. Spiritually. God is alive. God is a living God. Not living in you. So if he’s not living in me, I’m dead to him. I didn’t know that. I was going to church. I’d do that, but that was all empty, totally empty, probably one of the most empty things I did go to church.

So here’s this longing that’s inside of you for meaning and purpose to life, and you’re just crying out, God, what’s it all about? And in that television show, I saw that, and that led Amy and I out to talk to Dr. Bright, and that day he led us to Christ. Did you know Bob that Jesus, Christ died for you? No, I didn’t know that. I mean, did I know that Jesus died on a cross? Oh, sure. I knew that I can pass that test. Did you know he was raised from dead? Yeah, I can pass that test too. But then have a clue what it meant? Not a clue. Not a clue. Had no idea sat in church all my life. Never one time ever heard that there was such a person as the Holy Spirit of God. Never, ever, never even heard that. Never heard that I was empty inside. Maybe occasionally heard you were a sinner, but I kind of bypassed that one. But never that I was empty, never that I was dead. Never, ever, ever heard that word, and I was dead spiritually. What do you mean, dead spiritually? It means the Spirit doesn’t live in you. That’s all. You’re human. Got a human, but Spirit of God doesn’t live in you. Never heard that. And on that day, for some reason, I understood that truth. Because when I came to Christ, I didn’t come to Christ just to get my sins forgiven. I came to Christ because I wanted new life. I wanted a new Bob George because I knew there was something wrong with me. It wasn’t just because of what I was doing. It’s because there’s something wrong with me, something wrong in here, and on that day, God gave me a new heart.

But you see with Solomon, that new heart had either not occurred yet when he wrote this, or he’s looking back, just like we’re doing now on what he was before knowing anything about God. Now, here’s some of the things he found. I saw something else under the sun. Verse 16, in the place of judgment, wickedness was there. And in the place of justice, wickedness was there. What’s he saying? He’s saying that whatever man is going to be trying to be just and exercise judgment. There’s going to be wickedness, there’s going to be situational thinking going on. To me, we’re living in it.

Back a few years ago, everything around Michael Jackson was the child molestation. It’s all gone, forgotten. Now everything is how wonderful. And the issue is, guys, he isn’t wonderful. He’s dead, and he wasn’t wonderful when he was alive. Good entertainer, but wonderful? None of us are wonderful. None of us, we just adulate people for some reason that are not worthy of adulation. So judgment, when we make judgments, it’s always predicated on something.

I remember the pastor that we used to go to a church with. He used to pound the Bible down through the top of the pulpit on the evil’s a divorce, until his daughter got divorced, and when that occurred, that was the end of the message. That was the end of the messages. No more. Situational ethics.

See, my friends, we’re living in a time today, and I’ll guarantee you this is going to happen, because the plans are being made in Washington for it to happen, and that is to declare that this book is a hate book already getting ready to be passed, believe me, hate book and any minister or anyone else who teaches that Jesus is the only way to God is going to be subject to arrest. And anyone who teaches to have the nerve to teach that homosexuality is a sin can be thrown in jail. It’s in the plans right now. You just wait. That’s what we’re that’s what we’re up against. That’s the kind of stupid thinking and judgment that is going on in our government today. Now, that is something. Now, folks, the Scripture says to obey your government. But whenever the government comes along and says to a man of God or a minister of the gospel that you cannot teach this book the way it reads, This guy’s going to jail, and if you got any guts to you, you’ll be with me. We’ll have a good time in there. But again, you’re going to, I’ll guarantee you, in my lifetime, we’re going to see it coming, and you and I are going to have to make decisions as to what we’re going to do with that, because you see, when the government comes and tells you that you cannot do something that you know is of God, you have no option. Quite frankly, you have no option except to stand up for what is right and what is truth. Whenever you start saying that the government knows what is truth and the Bible doesn’t, you are in sad, sad shape, but that’s going to happen. That’s what he’s talking about here, with judgment, the places of judgment.

And he said, So Solomon said, but I thought my heart, as much as I see, that when man is doing judgment, you’re going to find it all over the place. We’re not going to find good judgment because it’s it’s prejudice. Our judgment, many times, is prejudice. But he said, so I thought in my heart, God will bring judgment. He’s the one that has to judge. He is the only one who can judge. That’s why, in the Garden of Eden, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was he said, that’s the only one that you can’t eat of. Out of the rest of it, you’ve got, you’ve got total freedom to do whatever you want to. And I believe God functions that way. You say, Oh God, where do you want me to work? A place you want to. Well, who do you want me to marry? Whoever turns you on. I don’t think he’s sitting there planning everything some people do. I don’t. I think God gave us a free will and said, just like in the garden, here’s the trees. He didn’t get there and say, here’s the trees, but I’ll show you which one you’re going to eat out of. Did he he? Didn’t say that, or here’s the trees, but, but I’m going to tell you where you’re good. No, no. He said, No. I’m going to give you freedom to choose. Going to give you freedom to choose. Now there’s a danger with giving man a freedom to choose, and that is that you’re going to choose the wrong thing. But he said the only alternative to that is making a robot out of man, and I’m not going to do that. And so the sovereignty of God was that I’m going to sovereignly give you a free will. Now, I know there’s a danger connected with it, but I’m not going to make a robot out of you. If you’re going to love me, it’s going to be your choice to do so I’m not going to make you do it.

And so whenever man is involved in judgments, because that was the problem. You don’t eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil man. You do not have the ability to choose right from wrong and good from evil on your own, it’ll be situational sooner or later, just like the divorce, sooner or later, it’ll be situational. You can stand up and say that this Bible is true, and I believe what it says, and it’s not that homosexuality is the only sin on the world. It’s just one that’s kind of prevalent today. Why? Because the homosexuals are out trying to make it acceptable. That’s the irritant trying to make it acceptable. I mean, you tell me why somebody because they want to practice homosexuality. And I wish I could get into the details of that, but it’s too disgusting. Would want to have a parade on Disneyland, at Disneyland, just what is there to be proud of what you’re doing as a homosexual. Quit. Quit calling just the name what you’re doing. What do you do?And I’m proud of that. Let’s have a parade to Disneyland. So if you think that I’m going to call homosexuality anything except what God calls it, and that’s a sin. So is adultery, so is lying, so is worry, all of those things are sin. I’m not going to call it a healthy concern. Worry is a sin. When you say all of a sudden, What if your son became homosexual? Well, then I’ll change it. Don’t be so hard on it. No, no, no. If that’s the case, you’re just going to have to say that my son is unbelievably confused and he is unbelievably on a path of destruction. But I love him and I’ll be with him. And I’ll minister to him and love him till the day he dies or I die. But I’m never going to call that anything except what God calls it, and that’s sin. Maybe not be able to do it myself, but I’m not going to call it something different than what God calls it. So that’s what he’s talking here. In regard to judgment. Man cannot, is not capable of judging just because of those things. All of a sudden, I’m judging this. And all of a sudden my family, well, my family members, does it. Now, what am I going to do?

So God will bring judgment both the righteous and the wicked, and there will be a time for every activity and a time for every deed. He said, I also thought, here’s a man thinking, guys, here’s a person using their mind thinking constantly. My wife is constantly thinking. Her most famous thought is, I was just thinking. And I thought, Uh oh, now what’s going I it. As for men, God tests them, so that they may see that they are like animals. Now that’s a real discovery. As for men, God tests them so that they may see they’re like animals. Man’s fate is like that of the animals. The same fate awaits them both. One dies, the other dies. That’s one of the problems with having pets. They die. Break your heart.

That’s why Archie Bunker said that his famous, his famous pet, was goldfish. You always die before you get used to them. them. I liked Archie.

But it’s what he’s saying. We’re no different than animals. You die. Animals die. All have the same breath. Man has no advantage over an animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place. All come from the dust and to the dust, all return.

Bob George 14:13
Now here he’s talking about to the lost man, who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and the spirit of an animal goes down into the earth. Who knows that? Now we know one of the answers to that. That’s where we go, but I still don’t know where a dog goes. There’s some I hope go to heaven, and the others hope to go to hell, to be real honest with you. But I don’t know. I don’t know. And no one who is lost knows. They don’t even know where they’re going. So he’s saying, in your lost condition, you don’t know whether you’re any different than that of an animal. So I saw that there’s nothing better for a man to just enjoy his work be. Because that’s his lot for who can bring him to see what will happen after him. In other words, no one knows what’s going to happen after you die. So he says, Just enjoy your work. That was the only thing that he could really accomplish, not what he made from his work, but just enjoy busy hands, which is what God said in the Garden of Eden, that man would be working all of his life. And it’s a good thing. Why? Because idle time is gives foothold to the devil. And so he says, who can bring him to see what will happen after his death?

And again, he said, I looked and I saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun. He said, I saw the tears of the oppressed, and they have no comforter. Power was on the side of their oppressors, and they have no comforter. Amy and her family lived in communist Russia back in Stalin’s reign, the power was on the side of the oppressor. Here was a man in power that was starving out an entire country of the Ukraine, starving them out, starving them out. They’re still trying to do the same thing today. The oppressor had the power. These were innocent people. Amy’s dad was an educated man, a smart man. He brought electricity to the village where they lived. They built, by their hands, their own home that they lived in. They brought wells and dug wells. He was a smart man. He was a good man, good family, oppressed having to eat grass to survive, to sell your wedding ring for a piece of bread to live in such utter desperation that Amy’s mom’s son stopped her as she was trying to hang herself in utter desperation, of a woman trying to care for three children with their father who had been dragged away to Siberia by the government, by the oppressors, by saying, by saying, we need to get rid of all the intellectuals. They know too much, then they ended up with no intellectuals, just a bunch of dummies running the country. So they had to go steal the Germans to even have any technology.

I remember being in the Ukraine. I remember one time in Kiev, we were walking down the street, and I saw this beautiful building, beautiful building. And I said to the guide, I said, Well, boy, the Russian sure built a good looking building here. Say, oh no, no, no, they didn’t build that. The German prisoners were here. They built it. That’s why it was beautiful. You went to the opera house in in southern Russia, and there were all of these building things outside of it still being built. About been there for about 15 years, never touched a thing.

So in other words, guys, you’ve got oppressors. And men want power. There’s something inside of us where we want power. We love to be able to control things and to control people. That’s a whole issue, my friends, that you’re dealing with when you’re electing officials, do you want to elect someone who wants to control you or to give you freedom to be yourself. Which do you want? Or do you like bondage? And you have men who want to control and you see the ultimate result of that in the Hitlers and the Mussolini’s and and the Stalins of the day. And we still have them in other people, people who want to control the world. Why? I don’t know, but they want to control it, and they become the oppressor, and the innocent becomes the oppressed. Is that right or wrong? And so he’s dealing here with something that he’s observed, because you say, Why Lord, do you allow that to happen? In that question there is it a legitimate question, why do you allow that to happen? Why did you allow a man like Stalin to starve out millions of Ukrainines? And why did you allow a man like Hitler to kill millions of Jews, not just kill them, torture them? Why God Do you allow that? And you know the only answer to that is, I gave man a free will. If I stopped one thing, I have to stop everything and control everything that you do and say, I gave man a choice, and man is going to live and make choices. And there’s going to come some who make a choice to follow me, and there’s going to be those that make a choice to follow satan. There’s two powers in this world, and we’re fighting against each other. We’re living in a spiritual warfare, my friends. We’re not fighting against flesh and blood, but it’s a spiritual warfare against good and evil. And you can make a choice which one you’re going to follow.

Well, you say, Well, I’m not doing so bad. That’s not the issue. If you’re dead, you’re dead. And if you’re dead, you need life, my friends, because one of these days your body is going to fall in a grave, and before you fall in that grave, you need to have these questions answered. Who am I? Why am I here? And where am I going? And only a Christian can answer those questions, only a Christian, only someone who knows, not, because God is narrow minded. God said you need salvation, and I’m going to provide it. I’m going to provide it with my Son. I don’t care what you are. I don’t care the Muslims. They didn’t come along for years and years and years again. There weren’t any Catholics in existence when God did this. There weren’t any Protestants in existence when God did this. There wasn’t any Muslims in existence when God did this. There weren’t any Buddhists, just people. We came in and made all that other junk, including Christianity, that has become, to me, an abomination to God in the what we have done to the perversion of truth. He said, This is a relationship. It’s not a religion, it’s a relationship. And this relationship is with my Son, and he who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. Cut and dry, very simple. Why? Because it’s the only life available to you. I’m not being mean, not being narrow minded. This is just the only life available to you. Do you want it? Or do you want to follow them, follow Mohammed or the Pope or Martin Luther or the Baptists or the Presbyterians or the Methodists, or do you want to follow my Son?

And so we have a choice, and Solomon observed this. There’s a choice. He observes all these things that are true. Quite frankly, if I had to have Christ living in me, it’s what he says, no different than an animal going to die, same as they do, but because of what God did in his love and mercy, sending His Son to us, entering into our humanity with us, and being tortured by the very people that he created and crying out from the cross.
