Behold Jesus the Lamb of God Who Took Away The Sins of the World

~ We still hear people today that want to tell you that your sins are not forgiven until you ask God to forgive you, or they will say, “you have to repent of all of your sins in order to be saved.” Others want to focus on water baptism, as though that saves a person. All of these are lies of Satan, because he has exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and have believed in something they themselves have to do in order to be saved from the consequence of sin, which is death. They still equate salvation with getting their sins forgiven. And all of that is a lie. So a person needs to be brought into the knowledge of Truth and be presented with the fact, that Jesus forgave (past tense) the sins of the whole world. When John the Baptist was water baptizing people (identifying people of Israel), he was pointing toward the coming of Jesus, the Messiah for the people of Israel. Today we get to say, “Behold Jesus, the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world.” Water baptism doesn’t save anyone. Only the baptism of the Holy Spirit, saves a person, by giving them life from the dead.

~ “Well, the whole issue was that these were not born again, people. That’s why they asked him Did you receive the Holy Spirit just so you can’t be saved apart from the Holy Spirit coming to invade your life? Remember, in Romans where it says that the Spirit of God does not live in you don’t belong to Him. So these were people that had merely been baptized for repentance, John’s baptism of repentance, but they had no clue as to the indwelling Christ. And so he asked him, he told the people to believe in the one coming after him, and that’s Jesus. That’s all they knew. And so they were baptized for a baptism of repentance, of saying, I believe that he’s coming. And when He comes, I want to accept him. That’s not salvation. Now On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, when Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them. And they spoke in tongues and prophesied and are about 12 men at all. So it just merely say, and hearing this, they were baptized into the name of Jesus. Now, does that mean water baptism? What did Jesus say, John baptized you with water, but one coming after John the Baptist said, one coming after me, will baptize with the Holy Spirit. And Jesus said, that John baptized you with water, but I will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. And so this was not a baptism of water.” ~ Bob George
