Understanding the Fullness of the True Gospel

~ There are many many people today who do not understand the true Gospel. They have been taught satan’s lies about the forgiveness of God. They do not understand that the sin debt was paid in full at the cross. They think more forgiveness is needed. And it is sad, because most who believe this, are not saved to begin with. Why is important that we understand this Truth? Because without understanding this key part of the Gospel, everything else will be off in our understanding of Law and Grace, Death and Life, Flesh and Spirit, Presumation and Faith, Atonement and Propitiation, and a host of other key differences between the Old Testament and the New Testament. When we understand the Truth of the Scriptures in regards to forgiveness having been fulfilled in the Person of Jesus, God in flesh, to have taken (past tense) the sins of the whole world, then we can live in the freedom of Christ, knowing that He lives in us and through us when we are in Christ Jesus, and nothing can separate us from Him, not even our ungodly fleshly actions.

“And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life” 1 John 5:11-13

Bible Study Books

Bob George discusses the joy of salvation, emphasizing that true joy comes from knowing one is a child of God and forgiven, not from works. He addresses letters from listeners, including Brett from Compton, California, and a global audience, highlighting the universal impact of the gospel. Bob clarifies that there is no such thing as a carnally Christian and that the only unforgivable sin is the rejection of Christ. He refutes the idea that the Church Age has ended. Bob also explains that forgiveness of sins is a completed act and fact, not something to be continually sought after.

Well, my questions for you today are, I agree with what you say, that when we’re saved our sins past, present and future are forgiven, but I really don’t have a scriptural reference for that, and I don’t have an answer for people who ask me, if that’s true, then what part does the First John one nine play in our Christian life?

“Yeah, the answer that is none, because the text of First John one nine answers first John one eight, and that is, if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. That’s a lost person. That is a person who Sandra is called a Gnostic they were practicing Gnosticism. Their two main doctrines of Gnosticism was that Jesus did not come in the flesh, and the second was that you do not have a sin nature, therefore you don’t sin. So in order to correct that heretical teaching that was permeating into the some the bodies of Christ, this letter was probably written to the church in Ephesus, where John lived prior to being exiled and and so he was dealing with the Gnostic heresy. Now they said about Gnostics that anyone who claimed that Jesus did not come into flesh is an antichrist. Well, the same thing would be true. Anyone claiming to be without sin would be an antichrist. They’re the same people, aren’t they, and they’re lost. You don’t call someone a Christian antichrist. So they’re lost. So that’s the this is addressing people claiming to be without sin. So the literal translation of that is, if we claim to be without sin, that’s that’s what the Gnostics were doing. We deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we agree with God concerning our sins, that is evident, that you do have a sin nature, he is faithful and just. And the literal Greek translation of that is to have forgiven your sins once and for all, and to have cleansed you of all unrighteousness once and for all. The interpretation of that is, it’s a snapshot. It’s not a moving camera. It’s a snapshot. It’s done once. It’s done for all. It’s done forever. And that’s why scripture after scripture after scripture in the Scripture teaches the finality of the cross when you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you a. Alive with Christ. He forgave all of our sins. God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not counting their sins against them. Remember John the Baptist when he identified Jesus? Behold the Lamb of God, who does what, takes away the sins of the world. Now, why did he say take away? Why didn’t he say covered them? Why didn’t he say atoned for the sins of the world? Because Christ didn’t come to atone for sin. He came to take away sin. Atonement was what took place at the Day of Atonement. That’s called a covering. He didn’t come to cover our sins. He came to take them away, to deal with them once, to judge them once, to pay the penalty for them once, and that’s why there’s no penalty left for you and me. So we have dragged that one verse of scripture, Sandra, over into the believer’s life, and in so doing, paralyzed us to the joy of the finality of the cross. And then people hide behind this thing by saying, well, when Jesus died for you, and you know, in fact, I was just reading some man’s commentary on that, and it’s the most double talk you ever want to get into, that God died for all your sins, took them away, never see him again, isn’t dealing with them anymore. Well, that’s that’s all true. It says when Jesus returns, he’s not coming back to bear sin, but to bring salvation for those waiting for him. Why isn’t he coming back to bear sin? It’s already done. It isn’t going to do it again. So they come in and say, Oh, well, that was judicial forgiveness, but, and then the but comes in, but when you sin down here, then you need to ask for forgiveness. Well, you see, that’s double talk, if I have in other words, if you go judicially and someone says you are not guilty, well it’d be like that guy being your father’s the judge declares you’re not guilty, but then he drives home and says, Now I’m going to beat the daylights out of you. And you see that there is nothing in the Bible about judicial forgiveness and parental forgiveness. There anything there the you have to you have to read into those to come up with that conclusion in the Scripture, we walk by faith. Sandra and by faith, he said, I have forgiven all of your sins, never to see them again. What does faith say? Thank you. Thank you.” ~ Bob George
