Forgive One Another As Jesus God Forgave You

~ “Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

~ “Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

– Time to move on, if someone is not willing to forgive you, and you’ve gone out of your way to deal with the issue with them, and yet they refuse to forgive you, there is nothing more you can do. Part of the problem is most people have no clue that Jesus forgave them completely at the cross. This goes for both the lost and the saved world. They have forgotten that they have been cleansed completely from ALL their sins, including the sins they commit in the future. They were forgiven at the cross. When Jesus went to the cross, He who knew no sin became sin for us so that we could become the righteousness of God in HIM. Once a person realizes that, then forgiveness towards others becomes a matter of our life in Him. The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit and says, “I have forgiven each of you, now forgive one another as I have forgiven you.” The issue at times is that one or the other, or maybe both are not in Christ and have not accepted the Gospel of Truth. For the Gospel is hardly taught today. And thus many do not understand that their sins have been forgiven. They have forgotten that. “For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.” 2 Peter 1:9

Bob George addresses callers’ questions on prayer, forgiveness, and church membership. He emphasizes that prayer should be a response to God’s initiations, not repetitive. Carol from Tennessee is advised to forgive and move on after her friend refuses to do so. David from California learns that all foods are permissible if cooked properly. Todd inquires about John 20:23, and Bob clarifies that forgiveness is already granted in Christ. Vernon shares his experience of being asked to resign from his church due to his divorce and adultery. Bob encourages him to leave such a judgmental church and find a supportive community.

“Prayer isn’t something to do. It’s an outcome of who you are. God gave us two ears and one mouth, and I think says, use it proportionately. And most of us are using two mouths and no ears. The reason that I have two ears and one mouth is he wants me do twice as much listening as he does talking. We’ve placed way too much emphasis on my talking to God, and very so little emphasis on how does God talk to me? When you look at the life of Christ, Jesus, Ted, and here is God in the flesh, showing us how to live as a man. He put aside the prerogative of Godhead and functioned as a man in order to show you and me how to function as a man. I can’t function as God. I never will be God. He’s God. I will always be in an inferior role to that. But in my humanity, he took on my humanity so that he could show me how to live. And he said, I don’t do anything unless the Father tells me to do it. I don’t say anything which would include prayer, unless the Father tells me to say it and how to say it. And so he is the initiator of all things, including what I pray for. He’s the initiator of my actions, the initiator of my thoughts, and I’m the responder. We’ve put a reverse on that Ted. We’ve become spiritual dyslexic, and we believe that we’re in a position of telling God what to do. Well, if I can tell God what to do, making him the responder to me, and I’m the initiator and he’s the responder, then I’m greater than God. There is a law called the law of causality that we live by on the earth that basically says that the effect of something is never greater than the cause of something. In other words, the warmth of the sun is not greater than the sun, the builder or the house is not greater than the builder. Well, if it’s true down here, it’s also true in the heavenly realms that that my salvation is not greater than my savior. He is the initiator. He initiated salvation just like he initiated creation, and He wants us to learn to respond to him. And so my prayer should be in response to what he’s putting in my heart. And so again, if God, if God is putting in your heart a spirit of dependency, my talking to God, it in the morning, in the evening, I talk to him all day long. He’s my best friend. Why wouldn’t you? You know, if you’re on a if you’re on a trip with your best friend, you’d be talking to him all day long. And if, and if you’re not talking to him, no big deal. He you know, I think we do way too much talking and not enough listening. I can’t, I can’t emphasize that enough that we do not listen to the voice of God so that we know what to pray for. But as far as my life is concerned, I can say to you that by the prayers, my prayers are basically prayers of praise, thanking Him for His mercy, His kindness, I’m amazed Ted through the day of His faithfulness to me.” – Bob George
