Stop Praying Like the Heathen Do

~ So many people pray the Lord’s prayer as though they think God likes it when they pray that prayer. The Catholics have their rosary beads, where they repeat the same thing over and over again, and the Protestants have their own vain repetitions of the Lord’s prayer also in their “church services.” And most don’t give it a second thought as to what Jesus said NOT to do. First of all, the Lord’s prayer is NOT for any of us. Jesus gave it as an example of how to pray, NOT what to pray. And furthermore, that prayer was actually answered by the Father in Christ Jesus. And if you think you can use the Lord’s prayer as a request to God, you’ve been deceived beyond measure by Satan. For we live on this side of the cross, the New Covenant, the New agreement between God and Man, where He said, “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more and where these are forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins.” God is NOT remembering your sins. ~ Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.” John 6:9 The will of God is first and foremost we believe in Jesus. That’s the main thing that counts with everything. And once a person believes and places faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit enters into a person and brings eternal life to them immediately. From there, we are to abide in the the Holy Spirit. We are to listen to the Holy Spirit teach us all truth. And folks, there is much much truth that needs to be taught to all of us. Don’t ever think you know it all, because that is the flesh talking. The Holy Spirit will also show you the meaning of everything if you study and pay attention to the details. Jesus gave an example of a woman who never stopped pleading for justice to an UNJUST judge. The judge finally relented and essentially was tired of her pleadings, and so he granted her justice against her adversary. A Closer Look at The Truth About Prayer

~ How do we pray? What are we supposed to pray for? Can prayer change things? Can prayer circumvent God’s will? Are your prayers of concern greater than God’s knowledge and will and his love for all? Can prayer cause God to do anything to change the outcome? These are some of the things that are discussed in today’s program.

First off, a prayer of asking for forgiveness from God is not even being close to a prayer of faith. As we have spoken in the past, faith is always a responder to Truth. Asking for something from God in which he has already done it, is a denial of what God did in the first place. That is NOT faith, but is unbelief in a very key aspect of God. So it is so important to understand this very truth in our understanding of God’s forgiveness before we can ever hope to understand the truth about prayer.
