Jesus is the Gospel Warning

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P697 (01-06-22)

What is the True Gospel?

Many topics of conversation came up in today’s program. These topics of conversation are extremely relevant for today. There are so many pastors that have huge church followings for prosperity gospel teachings. This is not the gospel! And that is where we begin today.

The first caller, Ken called from Frisco Texas. He had a question about searching for a church in their area. Also, he noticed that a lot of the pastors taught the prosperity gospel. In addition to that he wanted to know Bob’s opinion on the husband and wife team being lead pastors at a church.

Bob explains out of the Book of 1 Timothy chapter 6 in regards to these false teachers that preach a prosperity gospel is of a corrupt mind.

1 Timothy 6:3-5
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt

Present With The Lord

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P687 (11-11-21)

Absent From the Body and Present With the Lord

Join Bob as he talks with callers about a time for all things. Being absent from the body and present with the Lord when a believer’s body dies. We have this glorious hope before us!

Another caller asks Bob about Jesus turning water into wine. Understanding the timing issue too. Very interesting. Jesus does nothing other than what the Father tells Him to do. Jesus lived as the perfect Man, following all what the Father had told him to do.

John 5:19
19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

Another caller asks about multiple wives in the Old Testament. Today we are told one man and one woman in marriage.

1 Corinthians 7:2
2 But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.

A followup caller spoke of sex before marriage. Bob explains this as what it is, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Faith in Jesus is What Counts

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P16 (03-15-21)

Synopsis

As you read through chapter eleven in the book of Hebrews, you will read about several Old Testament people and events that happened during their lifetime. We read about these men of faith, some that conquered kingdoms and others that were conquered for the cause of Christ, some were strong and did great exploits whereas others were sawed in two or wandered around in holes in the ground. But all of them were commended for their faith.

So you ask yourself, why would the writer of Hebrews think it important to write about these people and events? Certainly he believed they were real people and real events. Then you also have the apostles Peter and Paul also writing and referencing people and events, and sometimes the same people and the same events. Did they think they were real people and real events? What about their enemies? Did they think they were real people and real events? As you ponder over these things, you must conclude they were real people and real, and not fairy tales.

There were real events recorded in the Old Testament and substantiated … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Bob answers questions from several callers, mostly calling for clarification on the scriptures that they had struggle with understanding. Kenny, relocating due to his job, was trying to discern where to spend time with a new local body of believers. He was exposed to hearing teaching on the prosperity gospel and women pastors and what the word of God had to say about those things. Teachers of the prosperity gospel are charlatans in accordance with what one reads from 1 Timothy 6. Bob explains that they are using godliness as a means for financial gain, among other things. As far a woman pastors, God designed woman as a helper suitable for man, and, according to scripture are not to be put in a position in authority over a man. That has to do with God’s choice in creation and not a matter of equality but one in purpose or role. Andrea had a question about deathbed conversions and also what about those … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
