Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P644 (06-18-21)
All of us need encouragement in this fallen world we live in. As Jesus warned us so many times, let no man deceive you. All of us have been deceived one time or another and are all subject to deception. Many of us grew up in some denomination or cult even, and some of us came to the knowledge of the truth. We came to realize God’s word is truth, and anything contrary to that is to be rejected as from men. Not all men are deliberately deceiving you. Many are simply passing on what they heard from others.
How grateful we are for those many people, the born again believers all over the world, who have understood God’s grace, the totality of the cross, of being made complete in Christ and salvation through receiving new life through the resurrection of Christ Jesus, who has offered all men the Holy Spirit to be placed in those who believe.
When we see another believer trapped in sin, what is our attitude toward them, knowing what God has done for us, and rescued us from, and we are all equal at the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

People can grow up in any number of evangelical denominations and not really understand what salvation is, the meaning of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, what that really accomplished for mankind and for you personally. If you were to ask a person what salvation is, some will say it is a process you have to go through while others will say it is that Jesus died for my sins, and that is it. Others will even say you can lose your salvation. People who say such things do not know what salvation is. So to help a person, first you have to know what salvation is, what truth is as revealed by the Spirit of God from the scriptures. Then to engage the person in conversation, you might ask him, “What is your understanding of salvation?”
To a person who says salvation is “Jesus died for my sins”, and that is it, Bob often responds by saying, “That is your problem. You have got half a gospel. Let me explain to you. Do you want me to explain to you the fullness of the gospel?” The gospel … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

All of us struggle with all kinds of things in this fallen flesh of ours. It is good to know the mercy and grace of God. No matter what you are going through, there is hope in God. What a blessing it is when you have someone to talk to, who has been through what you are going through, and has learned to overcome the flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit, having had his mind renewed with truth.
Whether you are struggling with depression or in the process of going through a divorce, there is practical wisdom in Christ to deal with these struggles. The apostle Paul addressed some issues in regard to divorce in terms of the grace of God, under the New Covenant that we live under now. Yes, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. So often believers have not come to understand that they do not live under the law any more. That changes the whole dynamic of how you live and understand those scriptures like the sermon on the mount, and those passages in the epistles of the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

You cannot escape troubles in this fallen world, and many people have gone through horrendous things in this life, abuse of all kinds, beaten and rejected by a spouse, or molested by a close relative, and they carry hurtful and very painful memories and scars. But God wants us to be set free with truth, to turn our eyes to Him and live in His wonderful grace. We choose not to recall those painful memories, except to the degree that we can comfort others, who are going through the same things we did, with the same comfort we received from God.
So let go of the past so you can live in the present. And at times, even the present circumstances you are in, you are an overcomer in Christ, who promised to cause all things to happen for the good to those who love Him and are called according to His good purpose. It is not that he will make bad good, but He will cause all things to turn out for your good. For example, if someone is so hard of heart, such as an unbelieving spouse, and … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Today’s callers asked for help in regard to marriage issues and even about how to quit smoking. A lady called on behalf of her older sister who is seeing another man. Another person asked for clarification on a passage of scripture in regards to a passage in regard to adultery and marriage in Matthew 18:8-10. A person called about clarification on a passage of scripture, in Colossians 1:21-23, that seemed to indicate you could lose your salvation, even though he knows you cannot. Then there was this question that you still her quite often today, “Is a Catholic a Christian?”
Many of the questions these callers asked can easily be answered when, first of all you have the Spirit of God living in you, and you know the difference between the old covenant of sin and death, before the cross, and the new covenant of grace, after the cross, that we are under today. So when Jesus is saying things in the gospel of Mathew, Mark, Luke or John, he is saying things to people living under an old covenant, and the new has not yet come.
