The Work of God is to Believe in Jesus

 ~ Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?”

Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.” John 6:28,29

~ There are numerous people today that come up with all types of doing good works requirements for being saved, and yet when you question them, what are the good works that must be done to be saved? They have no answer. The legalists love using this doing good works argument to point out to others, you’ve got to do “good works” in order to be saved. Okay, if that is the case, how many and what are they? Most of the time you will get silence from them when you question them. Other times they will quote Scripture out of context, and repeat something from the book of James, James 2:20-26 yet will never provide the examples of works represented in the book of James itself.

God is the Initiator, We are Responders

 ~ “In response, Jesus said, “This voice was not for My benefit, but yours. Now judgment is upon this world; now the prince of this world will be cast out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw everyone to Myself.” He said this to indicate the kind of death He was going to die.” John 12:31-33

–  God is drawing everyone to Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to take away the sins of the world. “That God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:19 He initiated the process of salvation. We respond by faith by saying thank you to God. Thank you is agreeing with God and responding to Him with thanksgiving in our hearts. When we agree with God, we confess (agree with Him) and receive His Life living in us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Forgive One Another As Jesus God Forgave You

 ~ “Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

 ~ “Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

–  Time to move on, if someone is not willing to forgive you, and you’ve gone out of your way to deal with the issue with them, and yet they refuse to forgive you, there is nothing more you can do. Part of the problem is most people have no clue that Jesus forgave them completely at the cross. This goes for both the lost and the saved world. They have forgotten that they have been cleansed completely from ALL their sins, including the sins they commit in the future. They were forgiven at the cross. When Jesus went to the cross, He who knew no sin became sin for us so that we could become the righteousness of God in HIM. Once a person realizes that, then forgiveness towards others becomes a matter of our life in Him. ~ The message of Truth is seldom taught today. Every Christian denomination is teaching the lies of Satan left and right, and it doesn’t matter which one you name, they are all teaching the lie of ongoing forgiveness by God for example. And that is the very heart of the gospel message. How can we trust anything a pastor says if they are not preaching the True gospel in the first place? You have people thinking they are worshipping God based on how high they raise their arms up, or how wonderful they sing, or how much they pray, or what special words they say, or what day of the week they meet, or being baptized by water, or going to the confession booth, or saying their 1 John 1:9s or how much they give, the list is endless. ~ Once you understand who you are in Christ Jesus, and that nothing can separate you from the Love of God (for Jesus is LOVE), then you begin to realize that He is there with us at every moment of the day for us to talk to Him and ask questions of Him. He is there to teach us, to renew our minds, and conform us to His image. He is NOT there to beat us up, or to take us to the woodshed, or to kick us out of the fellowship when we do a sin, and he is not there waiting for us to ask for forgiveness either, because forgiveness was completed at the cross for everyone, for all sins for ALL time. With that in mind, our prayer life is completely free to talk to Him ALL the time. He already knows what we need. You Are Reconciled to God

But God demonstrates His love to us, that of us being still sinners, Christ died for us.

Therefore much more, having been justified now by His blood, we will be saved by Him from wrath! For if, being enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved in His life! Most people don’t understand reconciliation by God. They think it is an ongoing process of getting a person’s sins forgiven. They have fallen for the teaching of Man instead of believing in the word of God. They have not exercised faith, because most will teach Satan’s lies.
