Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P12 (12-13-21)
God Makes a Believer a New Creation in Christ Jesus
God made man to be indwelt by God. He did not make man to be separated from God, but to have the Holy Spirit giving life to us. For when we come to Jesus, God in flesh, and place faith in Him, he exchanges our dead self and gives us His exchanged life in us. So that, it is no longer I that live but Christ (the one that gives life) lives in me.
Now we should realize and be basking in the fact that Jesus has taken all our sins away on the cross. All our sins were judged on the cross and the verdict was death. The wages of sin is death. It was not out of fellowship, but death!
But now, in Christ Jesus we have Life!
Galatians 2:20
20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Now there is no more condemnation and we are set free from the law of sin and death! This is amazing folks. Once you grab a hold of this truth, it truly sets you free!
Romans 8:1,2
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
So as a believer, when are you going to place your trust in what God has done for you? God has reconciled you to Him, so no when are you going to believe it?!
A Closer Look at The Reality of the Resurrection
The Holy Spirit is pointing to Jesus as the Word of God. Believe Him.
2 Corinthians 5:20
20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
Place faith in what He did for you. Believe that he reconciled you! Believe He did it. Be who you are – be reconciled. He doesn’t do reconciliation over and over again. He did it once.
Jesus is our only hope of glory.
Colossians 1:27
27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Place our hope in Christ Jesus. Don’t place it in religion. Don’t place your hope in your nation, or your investments, or a person other than Christ Jesus, the eternal One. For when we place our hope in Christ Jesus, our hope is eternal and secure.
Hebrews 6:17-20
17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
So how do we exercise this hope? By faith.
Hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Listen as Bob goes into detail in understanding our faith in our sure hope of Christ Jesus who lives in us. He is eternal. We are seated with Him. We live because He lives in us. Right now we live in a foreign world. But most assuredly, our Hope is coming.
John 3:3
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
