Absent From The Body and Present With the Lord

~ “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” ^{2 Corinthians 5:8}

“Well, it says in Second Corinthians doesn’t it, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. And that’s talking about death. That’s when you’re absent from the body and present with the Lord. This is talking about end times. And so it says about brothers that don’t want you to be ignorant about the subjects now again, Andrew, we have to realize that punctuation is not there’s no inerrancy and punctuation. The Greek language in which the Bible is written had no periods or commas, do you understand that? There were no capitalization, there was nothing there was just written. So there’s no inerrancy, about punctuation. And so sometimes you have to be careful with where people in their translation put the periods and the commas. But let’s just go on with verse 13. There, I don’t want you to be ignorant about those who have fallen asleep or to grieve like the rest of them. And the question that would have been asked by the Thessalonians, well, if this rapture is going to occur, where we’re all going to go be with Jesus than what has happened to the people that were here beforehand? What’s going to happen to those who died before the rapture? And so he said, I don’t want you to be ignorant about those who have fallen asleep, I don’t want you to be ignorant about what happened to those people. We believe that Jesus died and rose again. So we so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. In other words, were absent from the body and present with the Lord. And at this event called the rapture. We’re gonna be with Jesus, we’re going to be back with him. Yeah, okay. And according to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, and who are left, till the coming of the Lord will not proceed those who have fallen asleep. So he’s telling us right there that we will be the first to go into the presence of God, those who have died prior to the Rapture. And certainly will, will not proceed those who have we who are left at the time of the rapture will not proceed those who have fallen asleep. In other words, they’re already in the presence of God, which ties into what he was saying that Jesus will bring with him those of us who have died, we call it died, he calls it just going to sleep. The Lord himself will come from Heaven a loud command and a voice from the archangel, with the trumpet call of God. And I think that’s where you have to put your period. The dead in Christ will rise first. That’s what he’s talking about that comes your physical death. And after that we who are still alive and left will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and will be with the Lord forever and therefore encourage each other of these words. So at the rapture, those who are left who obviously have not, died, therefore not absent from the body and present with the Lord will be caught up at that end time event, and they will meet the Lord and those of us who have died through natural means, and are already with the Lord.”

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
