Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P625 (04-15-21)

Synopsis

Sometimes we can get off focus on what is really important in life, what God has called us to do in regard to being fishers of men, to reach out with love and truth for the souls of men. We can spend endless hours trying to figure out end time prophecies, and as interesting as that might be, the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Yes, we should read Revelation and not avoid it, but everything in proper perspective. God’s word certainly tells us that anyone who reads the words of the prophecy and takes it to heart what is written in it is blessed. So He certainly wants us to read it with that in mind. God wants us prepared but not scared.

Then there is our neighbor or relative who does not know Christ. If you got a call from a friend, who at one time in his life rejected God, or even mocked the things of God, but all of a sudden there is a change in attitude in him. He is being drawn by the Spirit of God, expressing to you an emptiness he is feeling in his life, and how he has been recently listening to things of scripture and is beginning to wonder if he should accept Christ into his heart. But he is afraid of the unknown. Would you make yourself available to the Lord, if He has called upon you to talk to him and encourage him into entering into a new relationship with the living Christ? Certainly you would, for he just called you on the phone, expressing these things. That puts life right back into its proper perspective, doesn’t it?

Or are you among friends and family, where all of you once attended a false church. God has brought you out of that faulty thinking, from out of that preaching of a false gospel. But you have concern for your friends and family. Have you grown to maturity enough in Christ Jesus to be able to share the gospel of good news to them, to help them see what they truly need? If you are unable to communicate the message to them, do you know mature believers in Christ who can help you with that?

Listen today as Bob George explains the gospel. So if you are a person being drawn by the Holy Spirit, you have the opportunity to take this message to heart, become born again, to have the Holy Spirit of God placed in you, of being restored to true humanity, so you can truly live, to have meaning and purpose in life, to have peace with God, and become a new creation with God Himself instructing you along life’s many challenges. If you are born again, listen again, and you too can learn how to share the message of Christ, to point people to a relationship with Jesus Christ, that you are experiencing. You are a witness of Christ, alive living in you.

Sometimes, people can incorrectly think that because someone looks nice on the outside, goes to church, knows the bible and even has books of the bible memorized, has a seminary degree, they think they are saved. But it does not matter how good you are but how dead you are. There is no one alive today who is without excuse, who can be saved without knowing about Christ. We have the word of God available to us, especially in America, and anyone can just pick it up and read it. The Holy Spirit has also gone into all the world and there is nowhere His voice has not been heard.

Even in the end times, it is amazing to read of God’s great mercy in the midst of judgment. Here are two witnesses and 144,000 Jews preaching the message of the gospel in the midst of the Great Tribulation. And even prior to the mark of the beast system being implemented, you have three angels that give a strong warning to men of the earth to not take the mark of the beast. So God is always at work to seek and save the lost. The humble of heart will hear, receive and believe, but the proud, the hard of heart, will hear but reject the message, and if they remain in that rebellion they will die in their sins.

If you are a child of God, and have a heart to equip the saints through preaching or teaching His word, then first of all you must be born again. Then you are the gift to the body of Christ as you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you the meaning of His word, and you make yourself available to God before men, such as in home bible studies or along the path of life, to hear what the Lord is teaching you. Then as you rightly handle the word of truth, you truly are the gift to men. Remember that your job as a believer is as a minister of reconciliation, that God has reconciled all men unto Himself, so the appeal to men is to be reconciled to God, and as a minister of the new covenant, life by the Spirit of grace and not by the letter of the law. So learn what reconciliation means and what the new covenant you live under today means. Then you can be fruitful and effective in the things of God, as you allow the Holy Spirit of God to work in you and through you. Remember, apart from Christ you can do nothing, and the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) is what God produces in you and through you.

Eric from Vista, CA

Eric: I would like to, first of all, address the first caller in regard to end time prophecy and how the church is preoccupied with it. I recently read a book on the end times. After I was finished with that book, I was at such peace, whereas most are frightened. The reason I was in such peace is because I finally realized God is a God who is true to His promises. He fulfills His promise. A lot of Christians I see that are saying rapture me up now. It seems they are in a hurry. When we accept Christ, we begin our eternal life at that point. What is the hurry? There is a lot of work to do. So I would like to speak to all the Christians out there. There is a lot of work to do. Do not get preoccupied in getting raptured up and getting out of this hideous world.

Bob: A lot of times the lost world says, “I want to commit suicide”. The Christian world does not want to say that so they just say, “I wish the Lord would hurry up and get back”. It is the same thing. They want to get out of here. I think so too. End times teaching is in the scripture and you have to address it but you can get so hung up on the press and the pros.

Eric: Times tables.

Bob: It is. You have to be careful not to overdo it.

Eric: I kind of fell into that, and now I have come full circle. Now I am trying to focus on my family.

Eric: My question was concerning this attitude and this fear nowadays that we are in the holidays again. We are down in San Diego with the symbols of Christianity being torn away. It seems like an exercise in futility. God said that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. It just seems to me frivolous to put so much effort into saving a cross on a field or whatever.

Bob: I think what you are dealing with there, Eric, is the attitude behind those things. If the Christian should just sit back and do not do anything, there are elements out there who would like to take Christianity out of everything and God out of everything and make this into an atheist country. The only people who will stand up against that are people who are Christian in one form or another, and maybe not even born again, but at least people who have an appreciation for God or Christ Jesus. I get tired of watching the atheists.

Psalm 53:1
1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.

Bob: A man is a fool who claims there is no God. Since I believe the bible is infallible I believe they are fools. To allow them to continue to want to denigrate everything about Christ, I think sometimes you have to stand up. You do not have to get out and fight and have gun battles, but you stand up. I am glad for some of the news media in the past that have stood up and said, “enough is enough”.

Bob: There is nothing wrong with celebrating Jesus’ birthday. These people are crazy. I wish these people would go out and get a life. There was a Jewish Menorah out there. That was not an offense to me. That is a Jewish delicatessen in there. What do you expect? A Buddhist temple?

Eric: I have a twelve year old son, and I am teaching him about the mind of God. If I do not and he is an observer of what is going on, he is going to fall away. That is true with other religious faiths. If you do not fight back and preserve these cultural values, then a lot of damage will be done. I just see the atheists, and agnostics, and those in the apostate church, they are just kicking against God. It is tragic.

Bob: It really is, Eric. It is unnecessary. We have got a lot of evil in this world. We do not realize how evil people can be. So, the main thing we have to do as Christians is to keep proclaiming this good news. That is the only thing that is going to change hearts is the gospel. Nothing else will bring peace to the world unless people are being indwelt by the prince of peace, just like you said.

Eric: Absolutely.

Bob: I appreciate your call, Eric. Give your family our love, will you?

Eric: Same to you.

Amanda from Lubbock, TX

Amanda: I am calling in to see. We were brought up in a church that does not teach salvation. I went back there a couple of Sundays ago. You just heard it clearly that he said that we would all like to go there, and we wish we could know but cannot know. I have two brothers stuck in there who believe that. It is hard for me to talk to them. They just think I am completely turned upside down. They have a drinking problem. How can I help them? How do I communicate with people like that?

John 8:32
32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Bob: Truth is what sets you free and error is what keeps you in bondage. A person who is turning to anything to alter his mind is not free. He is in bondage. The reason he is in bondage is because he has listened to error. If he is in a church or believes what that nonsense is teaching, then he will remain in error because he has no source of truth. The only source of truth we have is with the one who claimed to be the way, the truth and the life.

John 14:6
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Bob: That person is Jesus Christ. The only truth we have on the earth today is the scriptures. That is the only source of truth we have. When a person refuses to listen to what the scriptures say, then he will be functioning in error. The only thing you can do to help a person in that particular shape. They have a worse problem than drinking. That is, they are listening to lies out of a pulpit some place. That needs to be corrected.

John 10:9-11
9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

Bob: I do not know how to tell you to go about that. I do not know how mature you are or how able you are to communicate truth to people. If you are not, then there are people there in Lubbock that you could certainly get to help you with that. We would be glad to give you some names of people there. Otherwise, you will just have to share the truth of the gospel with them and pray God will open up their hearts that they may respond to Him. They may or may not. That depends on where their heart is.

Amanda: For the whole group. It is a big church. They are trying to help them with clothes and everything. If I want to talk to somebody, they just completely withdraw from you. How do I appear to them so I get a chance to talk to them?

Bob: Talk to who, Amanda?

Amanda: I have a lot of friends. All my family and relatives all believe like that.

Bob: What kind of a denomination is it, teaching that?

Amanda: It is the old Mennonite church.

Bob: Mennonites. I do not know what to tell you about that. The only thing you can do with people is to communicate truth and leave the results in the hands of God. You cannot produce results. All you can do is share Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and leave the results to God.

John 6:44
44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Amanda: Okay.

Bob: As long as you are dealing with truth out of the bible. I would start with that premise. The reason that you know you have eternal life is because of the eternal consequence of the cross. A person doubting eternal life is doubting that Jesus did not die for the sins of the world. That is a big sin, to deny that Jesus did not die for the sins of the world when the bible says He did die for the sins of the entire world.

1 John 2:2 (KJV)
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Also Jessus Christ cried out from the cross, “it is finished”, meaning there is no more forgiveness to be executed.

John 19:30
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Bob: A person who believes you can lose salvation is denying the sufficiency of the cross. That to me is the biggest sin they can commit. As long as they keep committing that sin, they will never enter into the kingdom of God. There is no Jesus that died for only some sins, only a Jesus who died for the sins of the whole world. If they say they believe in Jesus, then they are not believing in the Jesus of the bible because the Jesus of the bible did not die for some sins. He died for all sins.

John 16:9 (TLB)
9 The world’s sin is unbelief in me

Bob: So the reason I know that I have eternal life, which is what salvation is, is the receiving of life, is because of the eternal consequence of the cross, because sin is what caused spiritual death, and once God gives me life, the only thing that can cause that life to depart from me would be sin. The reason that is an impossibility is because of the cross, where He took away the sins of the world.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.

Bob: So you have people there with a deep problem, a deep problem of unbelief, of not believing in what they say they believe in, and that is the completeness of the cross, of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures

Amanda: In that church, everybody goes there. Do you think a person can go to heaven without knowing?

Bob: No. They are being exposed and they have a bible. They have the ability to be born again at any time. They are without excuse.

Romans 1:19-21
19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Amanda: Okay.

Bob: You are without excuse. There is no excuse for anyone in this world today, especially in this country, of saying “I did not know” or “I did not hear”, because they can go to the bible and read it.

Amanda: Okay. For someone to go to heaven, they have to know they are going there?

Bob: They have to know Jesus who tells you that you are absent from the body and present with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8
8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Amanda: Okay

Bob: The only reason you are going there is because of eternal life offered to us by Christ Jesus. He did not offer us temporary life. He just offered us eternal life.

John 3:14-16
14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Amanda: Okay. Thank you very much.

Bob: Thank you, Amanda. Good bye.

Mark from Clovis, CA

Mark: Hello and God bless you.

Bob: Thank you, Mark. Same to you, brother.

Mark: I am an aspiring minister. I am taking an online bible ministry school. I ran into something I am a little concerned about. The problem is, Bob, that a lot of denominations, they frown upon a person who has been divorced before. I was divorced several years ago. My wife was committing adultery. She was the one who filed the divorce papers. I eventually became divorced. Years later I met a wonderful woman and got married to her. Everything is fine, but what I am told is because I was married before, a lot of denominations are not willing for me to be a part of their organization because of that history. The thing is it was not my fault. She did what she did. I did not even file the divorce papers. Are there particular denominations that are, not even lenient, but understanding of my situation?

Bob: Mark, there is a degree in which you are blessed. What I mean by that is this. You are blessed that you are not accepted. Because somebody who takes that stance without ever listening to the situation. It says in the bible that a man who judges without hearing a matter is a fool. You do not want to be involved in that denominational work.

Proverbs 18:13
13 To answer before listening – that is folly and shame.

Mark: Amen.

Bob: I got out of denominational work. I was embedded into denominational work. By choice, I got out of it in order to get out on neutral ground in order to teach the word of God, and not with the bias of a denomination but with the conviction of the Spirit. I do not want to have anything to do with denominationalism. I do not want any part of it because I do not want to be bogged down in it. If I was in a particular church teaching truth, I would be praising God for that if it was other than ours. What I am saying is, I do not want to be the pastor or be involved in that because of the denominational persuasion that a person may be saying to you that if you do not preach what we are saying, you cannot work here.

John 17:17
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

Mark: I hear you.

Bob: There are plenty of places to go, Mark. There are places you can go that you do not have to go to what I call a cemetery rather than a seminary, in order to be their pastor. You do not need to do that. There are plenty. Again, you need to make very sure that God is calling you or sending you. The calling of God is to come unto Him and then He sends you. There is no call to be a pastor. People ask, “Are you called to be a pastor?” No. You were called to Jesus and He will send you where to go.

John 20:21-22
21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

1 Timothy 3:1-3
1 Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

The calling is unto Him and He will do the sending. In your heart is whether or not you have the heart of a pastor-teacher. The pastor-teacher is not a spiritual gift. The teacher is the gift from God to the church, to the local bodies, or to the people of God.

Bob: So, you need to ensure that is what you really want to do. There is a world of difference between being a pastor and a teacher. So, as an example, you want to be a teacher. You love to teach the word of God, then there are all kinds of opportunities for people. I would not worry about being hooked up to being in a denomination at all. Ultimately that would be a detriment to you.

Bob: I do not mean to say that in a bad way, Mark. I am saying that, many times, the organizational structure chokes out the power of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives. I have seen that over my long lifetime of being not only in Christ but being in a situation of being around churches and pastors. I have seen people get so burnt out and beat up by people that it seems to me that, many times, the structure itself becomes the strangling arm that absolutely destroys spiritual life. I would not desire that at all. If you want to learn as much as you can, study as much as you can of the word of God, depending on the Spirit of God to reveal the meaning of it to you. Then begin to teach home bible studies. Gather people around you in home bible studies and then teach them. If you cannot do that, then you will not become a pastor.

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Okay Mark, I hope that helps? Again, my advice to you, as somebody who has been in ministry for a very long period of time, is to study the word of God, find yourself approved unto the Lord, be sure you are depending upon Christ and have depended on Christ for your understanding, not from denominations you have been involved with. I do not want to believe the word of God because of some denomination. I want to believe it because God taught it to me. Then reach out to others in ministry.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 3:5-6
5 Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. 6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant – not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Bob: A pastor should be a minister. We have been called to be ministers of reconciliation, ministers of a new covenant, not of an old one that kills but of the new that gives life. Be dedicated to be a pastor of a new covenant. Gather people around you and see how it grows. God will do the building of the church. If He gives you a church, He will build it, and let Him do so.

Colossians 1:17-18
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

Matthew 16:18 (TLB)
18 You are Peter, a stone; and upon this rock [Jesus] I will build my church; and all the powers of hell shall not prevail against it.

Mark: Bob, thank you for that clarity on that. I appreciate all that you share.

Bob: Good to talk to you, Mark. You keep in touch, brother.

Mark: Thank you and God bless you, Bob.

Bob: You too, my friend. Bye bye.

Mike from Colorado Springs, CO

Mike: Good evening,Bob.

Bob: Hi, Mike.

Mike: Thank you for taking my call. In the past few days, I have listened to this radio station. I was tuning to a sports radio station and happened to stop on this. I have been enlightened to say the least. I live in beautiful Colorado Springs and I am surrounded by Focus on the Family. In the past, I denied God and denied religion. I would not consider myself an atheist, but definitely a non-believer. I found myself extremely lost and confused and out of control with who I am, as a father and a husband and a member of society. My question is this. I so much want to give myself to God and to give myself to Jesus. I am scared. I do not know why. Fear of the unknown? I am not sure. My question to you is should I feel reserved? Is there something wrong with me?

Hebrews 2:14-15
14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death – that is, the devil – 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

John 3:17
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 12:32
32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Acts 17:26-27
26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

Bob: There is a spiritual battle that is going on. Bless your heart in your life right now. I do not know how old you are. I was thirty six when I went through that conflict. I had all the things the world had to offer. But again, I found out I had nothing and I was empty inside. I was just totally empty inside, with no meaning and purpose to life at all.

Ecclesiastes 2:17
17 So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Ecclesiastes 3:11
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Bob: That is basically what you are experiencing. It is God pulling you to Himself. That is the unknown taking place in your life. It is because it is God tugging at your heart for you to come to Him. From the sound of your voice, it sounds to me like you are ready to respond to that call.

Bob: If you are, I would like to just explain to you briefly what the gospel is. It is a man in that lost condition. We were born into this world without the Spirit of God living in us. In other words, we are on our own to make our own decisions. And then we find out it is not working. It plain just does not work.

Romans 5:12
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned

Bob: God in the man is indispensable to the true humanity of the man just as electricity in a light bulb is indispensable to its function or gasoline in a car is indispensable to its function. It can be a car but it will not run properly. That is how we are. We are living without God living in us, doing the best we can, with a total realization it is not good enough. God made a solution to that.

Romans 5:15-19
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Bob: There is sin that enters into our lives. That is what had to be taken away. That is what Jesus did at the cross. Jesus bled and died and suffered the punishment of God for our sin for us and took them away from the eyes of God through His sacrifice. He did that for the entire world.

1 John 2:2
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Bob: Then He entered into our spiritual death with us. The separation that we have. He entered into that so that through His resurrected life, He could give us life. That is where our problem is. We are dead spiritually and in need of spiritual life and Jesus said, Mike, “I came that you might have life. I am the resurrection and the life and whosoever believes in me though you were dead yet shall you live. Whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11:25-26
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Bob: So, Mike, what we do is we come into a relationship with the living God. He is calling unto you, saying “to as many as receive Him, I give the right to become a child of God, Mike.”

John 1:11-13
11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Bob: If that is your desire tonight, to enter into that relationship with Christ just as I did some forty years ago, I would love the privilege of praying with you, but I think that is happening in your life. God is tugging at you. He is ready for you to come and you are ready to come and meet Him.

Mike: I appreciate that. Thank you. I tried to be intellectual through Christianity, to fight it. To tell you the truth, I tried to use every tool to prove it wrong. It is amazing to me it has come around a full circle. I am literally humble. My body is shaking. I am teared up just because I know that it is right in my heart. I have known it for my life and yet I always said that evil follows the path of least resistance. I believe that I have allowed evil to consume me through alcoholism and other issues. I have overcome those obstacles but yet I still find myself pulling. I am afraid. How come I do not feel a spark? How come I do not feel? Sometimes I listen to ministries. I love your teachings. They are strict. They are a father figure. This is how, and it makes sense. When I hear others who say Jesus loves you, why is it that I roll my eyes? It makes me feel scared. I think to myself that I am mocking it. I guess I am confused.

Bob: Well, Mike, you have been in a habit of that. You have been in a habit of rejecting, like the apostle Paul. The apostle Paul not only rejected Christianity, he helped people kill Christians. But there comes a time when you are hitting your head against the goads.

Acts 22:3-5
3 “I [Paul] am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. I studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law of our ancestors. I was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. 4 I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, 5 as the high priest and all the Council can themselves testify. I even obtained letters from them to their associates in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished.

Acts 26:13-15
13 I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions. 14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’

15 “Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’

“ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied.

Bob: You are bucking up against something you cannot butt up against. It comes down to the point where you say, “I am ready to quit fighting. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I am ready to quit fighting. What I want to do tonight is accept the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart as my Lord and Savior.”

1 John 4:18
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Bob: Perfect love casts out fear and when you come into contact with the perfect love of God, then that fear you are experiencing will no longer be there because the love of God overwhelms that fear. It is a tug you are going through and it is a decision you have to make, and when you make it, you will wonder why you were ever resisting. I can tell you that in total assurance.
