The Law Was Given to Lead Us to Christ Jesus!

~ The law was given to show us our need for Christ Jesus and so that sin would actually increase and we become more aware of sin today. There are modern day Pharisees (hypocrites) that think they can somehow obey even the 10 today. They lie to themselves and God, saying they obey the 10 Commandments and don’t have a clue that God is looking at the heart. No one obeys the 10 Commandments or any part of the law. Furthermore, if anyone could obey the law, then Jesus died for nothing. In fact, people that say they are obeying the law of God, the word of God tells us that they are under a curse. The bottom line, the law is for the lost not the saved.

~ “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” ^{Galatians 3:24}

~ “Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound,” ^{Romans 5:20}

~ “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.” ^{Galatians 3:10}

~ “Well, again, Steve, the first five books of the Bible called the Pentateuch, is the law of Moses, and the interpretation by the Jews is really the book that they worship, their interpretation. And so making a statement that it’s a law book, that’s ridiculous. The law will always be with the lost, the purpose of the law, which only was revealed, after Christ’s death, burial and resurrection by Jesus, and through the apostle Paul, who was the real stalwart in the teaching of the difference between law and grace, is the fact that the law was given for the lost, it was not given for the righteous, but for the unrighteous. And so therefore, the law will always be there, pointing into the face of the unrighteous, in order to bring them to Christ, the purpose of the law was to lead us to Christ. And then there are many people who are blinded to that truth. And but, the law to the lost will always be there. But when we come to Christ, we’ve been freed from that law, in order to walk in the newness of life and anyone who’s still under the Law is under the curse of the law. You can’t separate the law from the punishment of the law, and the wages of sin is death, it isn’t a paddling or having your business going bad, it’s death. And that’s why it says anyone who’s under the law is under a curse. What’s the curse? Death! To this day, you got people sit down, they’re listening to me right now, they’re still under the Law. Bible says your dead can’t be under the law and be alive. Because the law kills you. That’s what it’s there for. Can’t make your righteous, can’t give you life, can’t justify you. All it can do is kill you. So the issue is that when you come to Christ, you’re freed from the demands of the law. We were held prisoners were told by the law until faith should be revealed in Christ Jesus. So the law will always be there with us but don’t don’t put your major emphasis as a Christian on the law. You put your emphasis on the salvation that’s been given to us in Christ Jesus.” ~ Bob George
