Salvation is Eternal Life Through Faith in Jesus, God in Flesh

~ Salvation is being born again of the Spirit of God. When we have placed faith in Jesus, God in flesh, for having completed forgiveness for me, and placing faith in Him, God gives us His Holy Spirit for eternal life at that very moment in time. There are those that teach eternal life comes later, and they are wrong in their teaching, because John says that he writes these things so that you know you have (present tense) eternal life. Most don’t understand what eternal life is. Most think eternal life is still future, as though that is something you get in the future, after you physically die. It’s one of the main reasons that people believe they can lose their salvation, because they don’t understand what salvation really is. And for those that believe this way, there is a good chance they are not saved to begin with. And that manifests itself in many ways. The person that believes in law keeping is an indicator they do not have the Holy Spirit living in them. The person that believes they are saved to begin with, but then they believe they are sustained by works of the law, is another indicator of a person that is lost. They haven’t died to self righteousness, but instead are trying to stand in their own righteousness before God. Even Paul got upset with this form of Galatianism.

Lord Jesus, teach me the TRUTH of the world we live in today and the Truth of You.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. _{Romans 6:23}

I have written these things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life._{1 John 5:18/sub>}

Question from John: “How does one know they are saved?”

“Well, John, the way you know is again God has given us the way to salvation, and then we have the option to either reject that truth or to accept that truth. And when you have accepted that by faith, you’re saved. You’re born again. What God has come to provide for us is what we could not provide in any way, shape or form for ourselves. There is no way for man to have forgiven himself, and if the wages of sin is death, there is no way that a dead man can bring life to himself. And so God came to this earth and walked on this earth for some 33 years and fulfilled the law of righteousness of God, and then went to a cross in order to take upon himself, himself the sins of the entire world, and in so doing, die and enter into our spiritual death with us, so that through his resurrection we could enter into His spiritual life with him. And that’s the dynamic of the completeness of the gospel John, His death, burial and resurrection. His death, for us, is what took away eternally, the cause of spiritual death sin. His resurrection is the correction to the wages of sin, which is death by the gift of God, which is eternal life. Now when we see that package together His death, burial and resurrection, and what that meant to me. Christ didn’t just that’s just not a historical event to put your faith in. It’s this is what Jesus did for me. He took away my sin at the cross. He entered into my spiritual death with me. I was born dead spiritually, he entered into that death with me through sin, so that through his resurrection, I could be raised into the newness of life. And Lord Jesus, if that is what you came to do, I want to thank you for the forgiveness that was provided for me, the taking away from the eyes of God, eternally the cause of spiritual death, and now offering me your resurrected life, and I now receive you into my heart as my Lord and Savior. When that occurs, you have the Son, and when you have the Son, you have life. So it’s one of those things that only you and God know, but there is a manifestation of that life John that enables other people to know. It’s called the fruit of the Spirit. And if you truly are abiding in the resurrected life of Christ, Jesus, that life is going to start being manifested through you, slowly and surely, but absolutely uniquely, and that’s how you know you’re saved.” ~ Bob George
