Your Victory Over Depression is Through Jesus Himself!

When a person is in Christ Jesus, victory over depression unfolds through a divine process of internal transformation. Because Christ literally lives within the believer, individuals no longer have to battle emotional darkness, fatigue, or despair using their own limited human strength. Instead, the Savior who carried our griefs on the cross provides a supernatural anchor from the inside out, offering true rest to the weary and breaking the heavy chains of isolation.

This victory is realized as Jesus actively begins the process of renewing the mind. Depression often relies on deceptive, looping thoughts of worthlessness, hopelessness, and permanent defeat. By abiding in Christ, the believer’s mind is systematically rewired and transformed, allowing them to take every destructive thought captive and cast down the mental arguments that breed despair.

Crucially, this renewal is anchored entirely in absolute TRUTH, which cannot be found in human philosophy or abstract concepts. True freedom comes exclusively from the author of Truth, Jesus Himself, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. As His living Word floods the mind, it exposes lies, heals the brokenhearted, and restores a sound mind, proving that those in Christ are ultimately more than conquerors.

The first process is making sure you have the Holy Spirit living in you. Listen to the broadcast to here someone come to understanding the TRUTH, Jesus God in the flesh and what He did for them on the cross. Become born of the Spirit through Faith in the faithful One of God, who took all your sins away at the cross and is not counting any of them against you today! Become free in Christ Jesus. Let Him take all your burdens and give you rest for your soul.

The Process of Renewing the Mind

Romans 12:2: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
The Reality: Victory over depression involves a daily transformation of thoughts, replacing hopeless scripts with God’s active promises.

Christ Living Inside the Believer

Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
The Reality: You do not fight depression in your own limited strength; Christ Himself lives inside you to provide supernatural endurance and life.

The Source and Definition of Truth

John 14:6: “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
John 1:14: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The Reality: Truth is not an abstract concept or a human philosophy; Truth is a person, Jesus Christ, who authored all reality.

Setting the Mind Free From Captivity

John 8:31-32: “Then Jesus said to those HEBREWS who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’”
2 Corinthians 10:5: “casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”
The Reality: Depression often relies on deceptive thoughts of worthlessness. The Truth of Jesus breaks those mental chains and sets your mind completely free.

Bible Study Books

- She feels God doesn’t care about her anymore.

- Bob explains that her view of God is based on her own understanding, not on what God has said (e.g., “I’ll never leave you nor forsake you,” “Nothing can separate us from the love of God”).

  - Misplaced dependencies (relying on people instead of Christ) and

    are at the root of much depression and emotional pain.
- He uses analogies:
  - A light bulb that can’t function without electricity → Humans can’t function as intended without God’s life in them.
  - He describes himself before conversion (at age 36) as constantly searching for love and never finding it until he came into a true relationship with Christ.
Presenting the gospel:
- Bob explains:
  - All have sinned; none are righteous.
  - Christ died to take away sins from God’s sight and rose again so we can receive His resurrected life.
  - God living in us is indispensable to our true humanity, and without that indwelling life we are always searching and frustrated.
- He invites Tracy to accept Christ by faith, emphasizing:
  - This is about receiving Christ, not performing religious works.
  - The result is becoming a child of God, with love, joy, peace, and other fruit of the Spirit becoming hers.
Prayer and new identity:
- Tracy agrees and repeats a prayer after Bob:
  - Acknowledging her need for Jesus.
  - Thanking Him for dying to have forgiven her sins and taking them away from God’s sight.
  - Thanking Him for giving her His resurrected life.

  - She now has life, because “he who has the Son has life.”
