The Law Brought Death ~ Jesus Brings Eternal Life to All Who Place Faith in Him

~ Many today practice law keeping, as though they think they can actually keep the law. They are only fooling themselves, and puffing themselves up, thinking they are better than someone else out there. Those that think they can keep the law are not saved, because the law has not done its work in them. For the law has not lead them to Christ Jesus yet. People need to understand the stringency of law keeping, for if you break any part, ANY PART, of the law, from day you are born till the day you die, you will die dead. They will not have the Holy Spirit living in them to give them eternal life. If the law has done its job, it would have shown a person the fact that they are dead and in need of Jesus for life. Only by placing faith in Jesus will a person have eternal life. Nothing else will do. Trying to keep the law is NOT good enough, because no one keeps the law, and no one keeps the 10 commandments either. They are hypocrites, those that believe in 10 commandment keeping.

~ The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ^{Romans 5:20-21}

~ For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. ^{Romans 8:14-17}

~ Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one. Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. ^{Galatians 3:19-25}

—Andy, that’s just what you’re saying it just playing dead wrong, that it’s being taught by somebody that does not, doesn’t have any understanding at all of the Scripture, the 10 commandments, the law was given to lead you to Christ. So are the 10 commandments still applicable to the lost person? Absolutely. That’s what it says the purpose of the law was added because of transgressions or sins until and when you see and until Andy there’s a before and after. Right? So again, the Scripture, the Scripture that I’m reading to you right now is out of Galatians 3:19 through 24. And that’s how it starts. What then was the purpose? Not is the purpose was the purpose of the law? And I think that’s interesting that it doesn’t say what is the purpose? But what was the purpose? We’re talking now in the book of Ephesians, over in the New Covenant. And so the question is, what was the purpose of the law? It didn’t say it is added, it was added because of transgressions, until the seed that’s Jesus, to whom the promise had come. And that was the promise of Abraham, that, that he believed God and it was credited to him his righteousness.” ~ Bob George
