Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P4 (11-16-21)

The Wages of Sin is Death, But the Gift of God is Life

Most pastors are teaching a half gospel. Many teach that a person “gets” their sins forgiven when they ask God for it. Yet without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Hebrews 9:22). Jesus forgave your sins on the cross so that He would give you life, His eternal life when you place faith in Him. Forgiveness is found only in Christ Jesus. No one gets their sins forgiven today apart from Christ Jesus. The only thing a person can do is receive His forgiveness when you receive Him and He gives you eternal life the moment you place faith in Him.

Romans 5:9-11
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Jesus gave His life for you, so He could give His life to you, so he could live His life through you.

Jesus gave us eternal life. He did not give us a temporary life, He gave us a permanent eternal life. Sin does not cause God’s life to leave you. Once you are in Christ Jesus, He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He has made you perfect for all time. Rest in Him!

Hebrews 10:11-18
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

God is no longer remembering your sins. Rest in His forgiveness for you. The cross was a turning point in all of history. The cross took away the sins of the whole world. Now if His life lives in you, He wants to live His life through you.

When we were physically born in the world, we were born in the image of man. We were born in Adam. We were born dead. When we become born again, we are born in the image of God. His Spirit comes to indwell our spirit, giving us life. No one is born a believer to begin with. A person must be born of the Spirit.

Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ Jesus

Romans 5:12
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

The law brings death but the Spirit brings life! We were dead and then Jesus made us alive in Christ Jesus when we placed faith in Him.

colossians 2:13-15
13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Jesus took away all our sins! Jesus fulfilled the law for us.
