Classic Christianity – Book of Hebrews P55 (01-17-24)
Build Your Foundation on Jesus and Jesus Alone
~ The so called “Christian” world is brainwashed today, by believing the lies of Satan. And make no mistake about it, the lies of Satan are so many that it is impossible to name them all. We are told in the word of God to build our foundation on Christ Jesus and Jesus alone, but quite frankly most haven’t. Oh, they say they believe in Christ Jesus, but then by their fruits it is obvious that they have NOT placed faith in Him. They have placed faith on their own foundation of what they believe to be the case, instead of the word of God. A foundation built on the teaching of man, instead of the teaching of God. We have been warned repeatedly in the Scriptures about being careful who you listen to, for Satan has transformed his ministers into ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works [2 Corinthians 11:15]. Yet most listen to ministers that are teaching the lie of ongoing forgiveness. And 99.9999% of the “Christian” world believes in ongoing forgiveness by God. It isn’t hard to see it. Their fruits are on display for all to see. They say it in their prayers. They say it in their vernacular. They show it by what they do, over and over and over again. They continue to go to their day of atonement, instead of resting in the finality of the cross. And it is so sickening to hear these self righteous hypocrites, pretending they are holier than thou.
Once you know the Truth, Jesus, He indeed sets you free. The Holy Spirit begins to renew your mind, and He will never stop. There are so many lies in the world today that have been fed to us, that when the Holy Spirit shows you ALL Truth, it is a waking up experience. Ask Him, a simple prayer to show all truth to you. He will. Time is short. Pay attention to the details. Details matter in EVERYTHING.
Satan is god of this world and has blinded the minds of the unbelievers. Satan controls all aspects of what you see in the physical realm of man. He controls ALL governments of the world. He controls the media, the entertainment industry, the music industry (including so-called Christian music too), and Satan even controls all the religions of the world, and so much much more. Satan has infiltrators everywhere, designed to pull you away in all different directions from the TRUTH of the WORD of GOD. Quit listening to the liars. Quit promoting Satan’s ministers to your friends. Start presenting the TRUTH of the Word of God. Jesus is the TRUTH.
~ “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” Romans 10:4
~ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4
~ “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

~ “Christ is the one who fulfilled the law. Christ is the one who was raised from the dead Christ is the one who came to give you his life so that his life could be lived through you. Only he can live the Christian life no one else ever could he never thought we would never said we could. So he said, I’ll live it through me. It’s no policy, Paul came to understand that folks, it’s no longer I who lives it’s one Christ who lives in me, I Paul am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live yet not I, but it’s Christ lives in me. And therefore, because it is Christ, who lives in me the life that I live now in this flesh of mine, I live by faith in Him alone, who loved me and gave himself for me, I don’t live in faith in me and what I’m doing anymore. He said, I want us to do that. And I consider all of that stuff dung. That’s pretty descriptive in comparison, in comparison to that of what? Knowing Him, knowing Him. And so you and I can’t do it. He never said we would, he said, Faithful is He Who called you who will do it. Now, this is what the, the writer of Hebrews is trying to say, folks, you, you should understand that you should have seen that. You’ve had 1000s of years of religious history of going out trying to live for God and fallen flat on your face, which he would have been saying to the Hebrews. And it also be saying it today to modern day, people practicing Christianity, and that’s what we’re doing practicing it. You’d be saying the same thing. How long do you have to fall on your face trying to practice Christianity before you find that you can’t? How miserable do you have to get before you realize it doesn’t work because God didn’t come to send you and me an it. He came to send us His Son.” ~ Bob George

Sixth Chapter of the book of Hebrews. We might just back up for a minute to the fifth chapter there and 11 will pick up there. The writer of Hebrews says we have so much more to say about all of these things that we just talked about in the first chapters. But he said, It’s hard to explain because you’re slow to learn. In fact, though, by this time, you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word over and over again. You still need milk, not solid food. Anyone who lives on milk, still being an infant is not acquainted with a teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use or usage have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Let us therefore leave the elementary teachings about Christ, the elementary teachings about him and go on to maturity, not laying again, the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and have faith in God instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. And God permitting we will do so. In essence is saying, if you don’t understand those things by now, when are you ever going to? It’s time to grow up. And to leave these and to begin to grow in your maturity in Christ to grow up.
It’s like a child growing up. I remember when we had little Debbie and Amy had tried to feed her, you know, her little baby food and put it in her mouth. And she’d go and spit it all back out again. You know, now I was cute when she was six months. But she’s 37. Now, if she did that now think she was an imbecile. Wouldn’t you? When you’re little that’s cute. But try to do the same stuff as an adult. And it’s an imbecile. That’s the same thing in our Christian life, that you see people still quibbling over things that we should never ever ever be quibbling over. They should be settled. There shouldn’t even be a question about it. It should be a foundation that is so strong that you’d never consider it again. Because if you don’t lay a foundation? What good is it do you to build the building? And if you build the building and your foundation isn’t laid, when the storms come, and the winds blow, the house falls down because it’s built on sand. Your foundation is built on nothingness. When you build your theology, on emotionalism, it’s built on the sand. Because I can feel one way one day and feel another way another day. And you’re seeing the media going after ministries. And you’re seeing people falling. And in every single case they that pray these preachers have been preaching a ministry of emotionalism. It is not based on truth. It’s not based on facts. It’s based on emotion. And whenever you base your life on emotion, you’re going to fall flat on your face. Because emotions go up and down like a yo yo. How would you like to base your own marriage on your emotion? When it goes up and down, like a yo yo.
Christ came to give us something called Truth. And then he said that truth will do what? Set you free. And then he said, I am the truth. And then he said, and if I who am the truth will set you free you shall be free where? Indeed. So the object of our faith is not in how I feel, the object of our faith is in what he did and what he is today doing in our lives. The object of a person’s faith is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Faith is like swallowing, you could say we have to swallow to live. And I can think about that for a moment say, Well, that makes some sense until I realized something that I can also swallow a poison and die, using the same mechanism that I swallow a food to live. And so swallowing is not what enables me to live, it’s swallowing food that enables me to live because I can swallow a poison and die. And so when you’re talking about faith, faith is like swallowing. Faith enables something out there to get in here. But what you get in here is dependent on what you put your faith in out there. And if your faith is in feelings, that’s what you’re going to be inside, just a feeling thing. But if your faith is in the fact of Christ, Jesus and His Word, then Christ becomes alive and real living in you, which is your only hope of glory. And you’ve got a foundation, a rock on which to stand. And that’s him, who alone is your life. And that’s truth. And that truth, he says, will set you free. It is the most freeing thing in the world to realize it’s no longer I who lives but it’s Christ who lives in me. Because what that says to me, if it is Christ, who lives in me that I can quit trying to live the Christian life. And if I can quit trying to live the Christian life, and that frees me from him to act like a phony, and walk around acting like something that I’m not, looking holy, every and all that other stuff that we do, and we get all this vernacular. And we talk holy. Until we get at home behind the doors. And you see, we put this front on this act, because we’re trying to act like something, thinking if I can act like it, I’ll be that instead of realizing that, isn’t it. That Christ came to change you and me he came to live with inside of us, giving his life for you, so that he could give his life to you so that he could live his life through you. That’s in that order. And so Christ giving his life for us at the Cross did something he for us it was done for a purpose, folks. And the purpose of Christ died on a cross was to clear the deck once and for all, not to cover sin, like atonement did but to take it away. Because until you realize Christ is taken away your sin forever, He isn’t seeing it anymore. Until you realize that you’ll never gain the most important thing you’ll ever gain in your life. And that is God’s acceptance.
We walk around say God loves you and you say, Oh, I know that but God is love. What choice does he have? Some people say, others say No wonder wonderful I am so wonder he loves me. I’m one obedient dude. You hear that one too. You know the only obedience at present would impress God 100% From the time you were born till the time you die. That’s the only obedience that would impress him. What would be the fulfillment of the law? 100% obedience from the time you were born till the time you die, that’s all it would do. The only obedience in the Bible is trusting Him who alone can live his life. Without what? Faith It’s impossible to what? Please God. Faith in who you are him? Him. To do what? What He alone can do. That’s live, he’s live. Every command that Jesus ever gave you and me, from our standpoint is a total impossibility. From his standpoint, totally, probable. not difficult at all for him, impossible for you. We say well I’ll go give it a whack. I’m sorry, but given our whack won’t do. It’s only as we understand it’s only what Christ did.
Christ is the one who fulfilled the law. He came to send us His Son.
Now he’s dealing in these verses with this area of forgiveness. And look at the Christian world today who have never matured, never grown up. Never experience what it is to have Christ living in him never experienced this unconditional love and acceptance that we’re talking about. Because, folks, is there such a difference. Love is one thing but to realize Christ accepts you just the way you are. You can’t get that from the world. We can’t accept each other unconditionally, can we? Or are we deceived enough to think we can? And yet that need to be accepted is as strong as horseradish. And yet, it can’t be met anyplace except in Him. When we don’t understand that only Christ can meet that need for acceptance and unconditional love why we go out to the only place we had to go to look for and that’s the world people, places and things. So we try to find acceptance from our parents, we try to find acceptance from our kids, we try to find acceptance from her husband, we try to find acceptance from from our wife, we try to find acceptance from our peers. And if we can’t find it there, well, we’ll go to the bars and quite frankly, you’ll probably see more acceptance here and you’re doing the average church. Or at least you’re rallying around a common interest getting drunk. And I speak from experience I’m not talking theory on that I’ve been there I know what that lifestyle is. But after a while, that isn’t the case either. You go all kinds of places for acceptance, won’t you. The whole hippie generation was built around a group of people looking for acceptance, someplace, couldn’t find it in the establishment. Let’s find it out here. And for a while it looks like it’s there. And then that falls on its face too.

Bob George 14:13
In your the depths of your in my heart is is a cry that says Is there anyone out there who will just accept me for who I am? And a loud voice comes there is it’s Christ Jesus, your Lord. To realize that Christ accepts you in your pits, in your bad moods, in PMS. Just accepts you just where you are. Where you are. Isn’t an unbelievable thing to know. Now, there’s no way for you and me to ever experience that folks if we do not come to grips with the cross. And that’s why you see the people rebelling against this message of the finality of the cross. Is because if that cross is final, then all the things that I’ve been doing to try to find acceptance, I’m gonna have to say that was stupid. And God forbid anyone ever think I’m stupid. mean I’d rather be wrong than dumb. And so here’s these people try to jerk this security blanket away from me and made me look dumb. Well, Paul didn’t have a problem that he said, all the stuff that I got involved in man, I was the Pharisee of the Pharisees. You couldn’t improve upon me. If you were talking about legalistic form, I was it. I consider all that stuff dung compared to knowing Christ, he wasn’t afraid to let go above it. He in essence is saying that is stupid, sincere, but sincerely stupid. It doesn’t have any meaning to it, the only they’re gonna ask meaning is my relationship with the Lord Jesus.
I looked for acceptance in religion. And folks, I did too. I came out of the business world where I got my acceptance in my business success. And I became a Christian and I didn’t merely carry that baggage right over into the religious world. And I desperately looked for acceptance in the religious world. And I worked like crazy. When I think back on what my mind was, my mentality was, It’s almost scary. Because I was so desperately wanting someone to pat me on the head and say, good job Bob. I found out that I could get some pets on the head by witnessing and, and doing all the things that the Christian world told you that you’d be a good little Christian, if you did, and I am man, I set out to do it. And I was in bondage. And you put everybody else in bondage around you too, because you expect them to perform like you do. What was wrong? Well, a subtlety. I grew up in Christ, with this mentality that every time you sinned, you were out of fellowship with God. You see there is another group that teach if you sin bad enough, you will be out of relationship with God. In other words, he’ll just walk away from you or that you can walk away from him. And so that’s that’s totally broken relationship. Well my group didn’t teach that they just go be out of fellowship with God and kind of God can’t look on sin, you know. And so if he can’t look on sin, and I sin, guess what he has to do? So here he was on a swivel chair and heaven. There and see what so you say, Well, how do I get him face to the well you ask God to forgive you? So I asked him, so he’s back again. And now it’s then and back again. Pretty soon I had him twirling up there. Oh, man, and alright, what what’s going on in here? Why? Well, because you see, folks that cuts at the very core of your acceptance. You see teaching someone you can lose your salvation cuts at the very core core of the love of God. Because you can’t believe God loves me if he’s going to throw me out if ultimately, I behave badly enough. And like I said, we perceive salvation, like the guy bobbing up and down in the water, you know, and you see him bobbing up and down, and you come up in your motorboat, and he’s about ready to go down. And so you say, I need to save that guy. Now, there’s a group says, Well, you know, you’re gonna save him Bob by your good example. Oh, okay. So I jump out of the boat and say, Watch me. And all of a sudden, the guy’s gone. As I’m trying to be a good example to him. Now I want to save you but I’m gonna reach down to water and jerk him out of the water and put him in a boat aren’t you? Let’s say boy, that guy loved me. Saved me. Thank God, He loves me. He saved me. But on the way back to the shore where the guy did act very nice. In fact he says a couple bad words. And, and he just said one bad word too often. I just pitched him back in the water again. Have I saved him. No, he’s a reprieve. I haven’t saved him. Saving him, jerking him out of the water pick up in a boat heading back to the shore. But you see when I jerked out of the boat. The guy says Oh, Bob, thank you so much. I say brother. I love you. I saw you bobbing up down out there and I loved you. I felt so sorry for you pull you out of the boat. I really love you. Well, on the way back to the shore. Why again? That guy is saying those bad words and he says Bob thanks again. I didn’t even speak to him. How come well my back is turned to him, I don’t like him anymore. How come? We he says bad bad words cusses probably drinks to. Probably put some music on this boat, he might even dance. So I saw, I don’t like him. So he thought that I words I loved him enough to put him in a boat the dang slob no option had to stick him in there don’t want to see him drown. But But I don’t accept him. Well, you can get to shore that way. Now I’ll tell you the rides a rough one. And it’s a long one.
Now when Christ saves you and me, he pulls us out of the water and puts us in the boat that’s love. And on the way to the shore, he turns and has total fellowship with you, even in your misery, that’s acceptance. Christ accepts you just exactly the way you are. Your faults and all warts and all. He accepts you exactly where you are, and is able to say you’re not all that you will be, but I’m not through with you. And there will come a day that you will continually learn the depth of my love and acceptance for you. And when you do, it’s gonna change your life. And I’ll stick with you to the very end. I’ll never leave you I’ll never forsake you. I will always be your friend. I love you, and I accept you.
Now, we’ll never get to that folks until we have come to grips with the finality of his cross. And that’s what the author of Hebrews is trying to tell us. We need to go on to maturity, but you can’t go on to maturity if you haven’t finalized this thing. And so you were dealing with people who had been steeped in Hebrew tradition, that the way you got your sins forgiven was going back to the Day of Atonement and getting your sins forgiven getting your sins covered. But you see, that’s forgiveness. And you can say, well, that’s love, but God provided something like that for me. But then I turn around and sin on the way back from the altar. And I gotta wait till next year in any interim period. I got sin there. And then well, we’ve carried that over we said it’s unconfessed sin your life and boy, you got that that’s terrible. Just terrible. NOT SIN just unconfessed just haven’t fessed up to it. And so what does that say about God and you? What does that attack? Well his acceptance. How can he accept me when, you know I got unconfessed sin there? Now we say, Well, he can’t. That’s what you need to get it get it cleared, get that debt clear. So if you buy that, what do you spend the rest of your life trying to do? Well keep your debt cleared, so that you will be what? Accepted by God. As the same thing with a Hebrew. He said, folks, it’s impossible for those of you who have been enlightened, who’ve tasted the heavenly gift, shared the Holy Spirit tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the powers of the coming age to fall away, to be brought back to repentance. Now why can’t you be brought back to repentance? Because you’ve never repented to begin with, you’ve never changed your mind. You can’t be brought back from where you haven’t been. You’ve tasted something, you’ve shared in it. But you’ve never believed it. A person coming and saying I believe Christ died for my sins. say great. Where you going? No, I’m going to Jerusalem. What for when going back the Day of Atonement. What for? What to kill a lamb. What for? Why to get my sins forgiven. Well, I thought you just got through saying that Jesus died for the forgiveness of your sins. Oh yeah, I do. Well, let’s go with that again. Where are you going? Go back to Jerusalem. What are you going to do back there? kill a lamb what for? Get my sins forgiven? Where are you going? I’m going to confession booth. What for? What to get my sins forgiven. I thought you just got through saying you believe Jesus died for the forgiveness of your sins. Oh, I did. Well were you going? Back to confession. What for? Get my sins forgiven. I believe Jesus died for all my sins. Good, where you going? Gonna go to the altar call. What for? What to get my sins forgiven. I just thought you just said that you believe Jesus died for all your sins? Well I did. Well were you going? To have the altar call. What for? Get my sins forgiven What are you doing? Well I’m confessing my sins for forgiveness. I thought you just said that you believe Jesus died for all your sins. I do past, present and future. What are you doing? Well, I’m confessing my sins to get forgiven. I thought you said that you believe Jesus just died for all your sins? Yeah, I did. What are you doing? Confessing my sins for forgiveness. Does any of that make sense? Does it? How come? Because you’ve never repented. You see, Repentance is a change of mind. And there are many people who have tasted, touched, professed, but never possessed. We’ve given lip service to what we said Jesus did. But it’s never been converted into our heart. To the point of being able to say, Lord Jesus, I’m tired of playing religious games. When you hung on that cross and said, it’s finished, you meant it’s finished. And as long as I keep resisting that message, I will never ever, ever be able to plug into the very thing you want me to know. And that is I love you. And I accept you, just as you are.

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
