Created Anew
~ Jesus is Head of the True church. The temple (the people of God) is NOT built by human hands, but by God Himself, AND we are the temple of God, if we are in Christ Jesus and He lives in us. “Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16. This Truth is hardly taught today. Because many are believing in the lies of another temple to be built, and forget the TRUTH that Jesus has built the temple of God with His church. Jesus is above every other name today. Jesus is King of kings, and Lord of lords, yet people dismiss that Truth and trust in everything else under the sun. And God wants us to know this Truth, so that we will understand this together with ALL the saints.
~ “Because of this, I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus among you, and the love toward all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes your of heart being enlightened, in order for you to know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us believing according to the working of the power of His might, which He worked in Christ, having raised Him out from the dead, and having set Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, above every principality and authority and power and dominion, and every name being named, not only in this age, but also in the one coming. And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of the One filling all in all.” Ephesians 1:15-23
…..
And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.
~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12
~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
~ “So we have to understand that these were religious people tenaciously involved in the proclamation of the one true God, in comparison to the entire Gentile world that was worshiping statues, 30, 50, foot statues that fell out of the sky and landed in their temple, and every other type of superstition that you could ever come up with today, folks, this type of thing seems unique to us, but in some respects, this type of thing comes into today’s Christianity, where people are superstitious. They love the mystical. Man, you tell somebody that you dip a hanky into the Jordan they’ll answer your prayer, and they’ll buy hankies all over the place. We just love mystical stuff. And that’s exactly what God had to come in. I didn’t come. He said, to bring a bunch of stupid mysticism. I came to bring you truth, and let that truth set you free. Mysticism will never set you free. But yet today, that that old human heart of ours, we have a bent toward miracles, and let me see miracles, and let me see little mystical stuff. And that’s why today you turn on your television, you see the psychics and people flock into that stuff. And obviously, if it wasn’t making millions, they wouldn’t be there on television.” ~ Bob George

Well, let’s all turn to the book of Ephesians. All right, let’s pick up in the first chapter one and the 15th verse we have been studying this, these passages together, guys, this Book of Ephesians has been brought forth through the ages. And many, many people have said it’s the finest piece of literature that has ever been written in the world, behind the finest piece of scripture, because it really just takes the entirety of the Bible and and puts it in its finished form, beautifully written. We talked about, as we opened up our time together as to the place of Ephesus, the type of place that it was the heathen worship that was there, the contrast between the Gentile and the HEBREW, remembering once again and reminder that when we’re talking about the Gentile world, it is a totally different world than what we would think today as Gentiles is kind of a bunch of halfway decent church going people. Back in those days, the Gentile community were heathen worships worshipers the city of Ephesus as an example. Had your temple there to Diana, known as the goddess of fertility. There was the prostitution worship. All of these type of things were all a part of being a Gentile. So when we want to know what our heritage is, that’s our heritage, and you want to get back to your roots, forget it. And so the only voice that was really in the world at that time with a proclamation of the one true God was the Hebrew Voice. And so it was into those surroundings that the apostle Paul came with the gospel of Christ. One of the things that you have to again keep in mind is the fact that to the Hebrew for all of these hundreds of years, as the only voice with the proclamation of the only one true God, not understanding the complexity of God, not having a clue of the Trinity that we know today as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, but to them as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the one true God. That they were, they were the ones who were given the covenants. They were the ones who were given the Word of God. They were the ones who God preserved, and is doing so today, through whom the Messiah was going to come and into whose nation he’s going to return.
So we have to understand that these were religious people tenaciously involved in the proclamation of the one true God, in comparison to the entire Gentile world that was worshiping statues, 30, 50, foot statues that fell out of the sky and landed in their temple, and every other type of superstition that you could ever come up with today, folks, this type of thing seems unique to us, but in some respects, this type of thing comes into today’s Christianity, where people are superstitious. And obviously, if it wasn’t making millions, they wouldn’t be there on television. So you see that the Gentile world has just kind of calmed down a little, but the root of the Gentile world is still there. And so again, we then see how God had to come in with a proclamation of a gospel that was going to include both the HEBREW and the Gentile, an unthinkable thing to the HEBREW, that these heathenistic Gentiles would come into salvation the same way that they would. The only thing was, the problem was they didn’t know what salvation was, because they weren’t accepting salvation. Salvation through Jesus, they were accepting salvation through the obedience to their own laws, and the Gentile could have cared less about anything. So to both of those groups, Paul had to take them and to in essence, when you’re talking about repentance, change of mind to the HEBREW, change your mind in regard to your self righteousness, and accept the righteousness of Christ and to the Gentile, get rid of your heathen ism and come to Christ Jesus. Both of them had to let go of what they were holding on to in order to grab a hold of something brand new.
So let’s pick up in the 15th chapter or 15th verse here. For this reason, Paul said, every every since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you. Remembered you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know him better. Why does he want you and me to have revelation so we can go out and do miracles? No, so we can get to know him better. Why does he give you Revelation? Revelation about what? About himself. Why? So that you can get to know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened now again, folks, and that’s why I believe so much in marking your Bible. Some people think that a Bible is this pure thing that’s supposed to sit there without a mark on it, but you’re never going to learn it that way. And whenever you see things like in order that that’s the reason for it, he just doesn’t tell you something. He says, in order that something can occur. Here’s the cause in order that an effect can take place. So I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened. How come? In order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Now that power, he said, is like the working of his mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every title that can be given, not only in this present age, but also in the one to come, there will be no title higher than the title of the Lord Jesus, Christ. And God placed all things under his feet. Now how many things are placed then under the feet of Jesus? All things under his feet, and he appointed him to be head over everything for the church. Now, what’s the church? Is that the building with stained glass windows? What is the church? Who is it? People. People, when it’s talking, which we will in a moment, about him building his holy temple. It’s not something over in Jerusalem. His temple is being built. His temple has been being built for 2000 years. The temple that God is interested in is not the one sitting over in Jerusalem, the temple that God built is the temple where he is the head, the cornerstone built upon the foundation, which we’ll study in a minute, or the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And you and I are the pieces of the of the temple of the of God himself. It is not a building of bricks and mortar. It is a building of flesh and blood. And so he’s talking about. He is the head over that temple, over that the church, the ekklesia, the called out ones, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.
Now let’s go to chapter two. Now, folks, here is where I want you to see as to this difference between HEBREW and Gentile that is being clearly portrayed here in this book of Ephesians. We talked about that in the first chapter, that this thing of election, predestination, all of that has to do with HEBREW and Gentile, nothing more, nothing less. It is not a reformed as a reformed theology gets into that God doesn’t love you, but he loves you, and you’ve been elected, but you haven’t been elected. That is the most nonsensical theology, quite frankly, that I think is in existence today, and yet it is being perpetuated in multitudes by people who call themselves. As intellectual theologians, it has nothing to do with that. It has only to do with HEBREW and Gentile. And all you got to do is read the book of Ephesians, and it’s as clear as the nose on your face that the Gentile was predestined to be conformed in the image of Christ, the identical way that the HEBREW was predestined to become conformed into the image of Christ. Now, why is that important? Well, see today, it’s not that important because there’s not much difference between HEBREW and Gentile.
The average J@@ doesn’t believe much in God, and the average Gentile also doesn’t believe much in God. You’ve got some BORN AGAIN J@@s. You’ve got some BORN AGAIN Gentiles. We’re told that there been more J@@s come to Christ in the last 20 years, and then the entire history, since Pentecost, and that can and that’s probably true, but you see, so to us, it’s not that big a deal. Think about the context of when this was written back, when Gentile was totally heathenistic, and HEBREW was totally religious. And so you’re you have to see that and get that in your mind.
So he now, Paul is saying, As for you, now, Who’s he talking to? The gentile? As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and the ruler of the kingdom of the air. Who’s that Satan? So who were they following? Satan. The Spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient? Is there a Spirit at work in this world in order to get us to do what? Live in total unbelief or disobedience. It’s still here. It didn’t disappear. So he said, Gentile, that’s who you used to be. Now he’s saying all of us also lived among them at one time. Now, Who’s he? All of us. He’s talking about? The HEBREW as well as the Gentile. Who was, what was Paul a HEBREW or Gentile? HEBREW. So he’s saying, Gentile, you were dead, you were following this. But he said, You know what? All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature or our flesh, and following its desires and thoughts, the desires of the flesh and the thoughts of the flesh. We were following just like you were. We were looking better, but under the skin where we live, we were also doing the same things. Now look what it says like the rest we. Who’s that? the HEBREWS were by nature, objects of wrath, but because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ. Now that’s all of us he’s talking about now, made both of us alive in Christ, even when we were dead in transgressions. It is by grace that you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ, Jesus. How come? In order that in the coming ages, he might show the incomparable riches of his grace expressed in his kindness to us in Christ, Jesus.

Why did He raise them both up? Why did he make the two as one? In order that in these coming ages, which could be right now, that he could show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed it in the kindness of Christ Jesus. How many years have the HEBREWS lived in rebellion? Too many to count. How many years has the Gentile lived in rebellion? The same amount. And you see what he’s doing is saying that in the midst of this attitude of rebellion in both HEBREW and Gentile, the HEBRW not in rebellion against God, but in rebellion against God’s revelation about his Son. And the Gentile just continuing to live in rebellion one way or the other, and yet, in the midst of that, I have brought the two of them into a oneness, so that in these coming ages, you and I might be able to see the riches of his grace expressed in the kindness to us in Christ, Jesus. People will say, sometimes, well, how long will God put up with us? What’s the answer to that? I mean, has God given up on me? Man, he’s been putting up with the HEBREWS for 1000s of years and the Gentiles in rebellion for 1000s of years. That’s why Paul said, How many times should we forgive seven times? No Peter, seven times seven. And all of these examples, all of the example of the Old Testament, all of the examples of the New Testament are examples of God’s faithfulness and his kindness and His mercy and His riches of grace in the midst of our internal rebellion, so it shows His love and His grace.
Now he says, For it is by grace that you have been saved through what? Faith. Now what saves you faith or grace? It is by grace that you have been saved by whom? By Christ, Jesus. You’re saved by the blood and the resurrected life of Christ, Jesus. Why did how did God give it? What was the motive of giving us Christ Jesus? Grace. Now again, remember what we talked about last week, that or not last week, two weeks ago, I guess mercy. What is Mercy? Mercy is withholding what you deserve, death. Grace is giving what you don’t deserve, life. So you’ve got those two things working at the cross and the resurrection. The mercy of God withheld eternal punishment that we deserved from us, and grace gave us eternal life that we did not deserve. So mercy withholds what we do deserve. Grace gives what we don’t deserve. So it is by the grace of God that you and I have been saved through faith. It’s not that of ourselves, it salvation and folks, that’s not faith. Many people look at that and say, Oh, faith is a gift of God. He’s not talking about faith, talking about salvation. Salvation is the gift of God, that it’s not from ourselves. Salvation is a gift of God. It’s not by works so that no one can boast, so there would be no one ever being able to boast in regard to I was good enough to earn salvation, I have done enough to earn salvation. I am a HEBREW and therefore am saved automatically, or I am one of the elect and saved automatically. You are saved through faith in the One who saved you.
Now again, is there a difference between belief and faith? Belief, you must believe something before you can put faith in it. So if you’ve got faith in something, obviously you have believed in something, but you can put believe in something and not put faith in something, can’t you? So we have to realize that faith is the beginning, or excuse me, belief is necessary for faith, but it is not automatic in the faith. And so when you’re talking about salvation, you’re not talking about just believing on the name of Christ Jesus, because I would venture to say that most of us believed in Christ Jesus from the time we were little kids. I believed in Christ Jesus. I believed he was the Son of God. I believed he was raised from the dead. I believed he died on a cross, but I was not was not saved. Satan believes that shudders at the thought of it. And so we have to understand that just saying I believe something is saying I believe, like saying I believe Abraham Lincoln was shot in the Ford theater, say I believe that. And they say, Well, do you have faith in it? Well, probably do, probably do I believe that now, why I wasn’t there, but there’s been enough written about it to make me read and say, Well, I believe that to be true. And so I can say, well, because I believe it, I can put faith in that, I would probably stand up and give a pretty good argument on that, on that particular aspect of history. But you see, if we’re talking about this thing of Christ, we can believe something, but have we put our faith in it? Now, our faith is not just in this name. It’s name of Jesus. You know, just Well, I believe in his name. It’s what did this Jesus come to do for you and me? Who is this Jesus? You’ll have people who say, well, it doesn’t matter where Jesus was born, of a virgin or not. I remember in my early in the church that I was in when I became a Christian. Now, when I say that, don’t ever think that I became a Christian in that church, because that church didn’t preach salvation, the pastor would say something like this, that what does it matter whether Jesus was born of a virgin or not? That’s not important. The important thing is that he is. I’d sit there and scratch and say, What in the dickens does that mean? So he didn’t believe in a virgin birth. But that’s okay, he is. Well, you see, if Jesus wasn’t born of a virgin, then the Bible lied to us. And if the Bible lied to us about his birth, then it probably lied to us about his death. And how are you going to believe anything? And the other thing, if Jesus was not born of a virgin. He would have been born out of the seed of Adam, just like you and me, and would have been born into this world dead as a hammer, just like you and me. So his virgin birth isn’t up for grabs. So it isn’t one of those things that you that you can just kind of go in another direction. So a person who says, I believe in Jesus, but I don’t believe in his virgin birth. What do you have to conclude about that? You’ve got a different Jesus. You’ve made up your own person and called him Jesus, because that Jesus is not in the Bible, the Jesus who went to a cross to die for some of your sins. What are you gonna have to conclude about that one? You got a different Jesus, that Jesus is not in the Bible. So you’ve made up your own Jesus, and then put your faith in your own Jesus, because that Jesus is not in the Bible. I believe in Jesus, but I don’t believe in resurrection. What are you gonna have to conclude? Well, you may believe in Jesus, but it’s not the Jesus of the Bible. That Jesus is the one who was raised from the dead, and I could go on and on.
So faith has to have an object, and the object of our faith is not in the Jesus of our making, but in the actual Jesus, who was on this earth. And as John said, That which we’ve seen with her eyes, touched with her hands, heard with her ears, that is the one we proclaim, the one that wasn’t here. We don’t proclaim Him. We only proclaim the one that we saw. We touched. We saw him die, we saw him buried. We saw his resurrection, and we communicated with him after his resurrection. That’s the Jesus we proclaim. Any other Jesus is one of your own making. Now you say, Okay, I have faith in His name. I have faith in him. Well, then if he came to take away your sins, and you say, I have faith in Him, then what would you have to have faith in? In the fact that he what? Took away your sins. So if you say, I believe in Jesus, but I don’t believe he took away my sins, you have to ask, what Jesus Do you believe in that Jesus is not in the Bible. Now you can paint pictures of them, which nobody knows what he looks like, and you can put crosses with with this man, Jesus hanging on it, and nobody knows what he looks like, and say, Ah, there’s Jesus. Well could say, well, that probably is the one you believe in. It’s like called an idol. But you see, if I’m teaching that I believe in Jesus, then I’m going to have to say, I believe in Jesus, the one who took away my sins. And if I don’t believe in the one who took away my sins, then I have to ask, what Jesus Do you believe in? Because it’s not the Jesus of the Bible. So I believe in Jesus of the Bible, but I’m going to have a prayer booth or a confession booth. I believe in the Jesus of the Bible, but I’m going to go back and to my Day of Atonement. I believe in Jesus of the Bible, but I’m going to keep teaching people that boy, you just need to keep asking God to forgive your sins and forgive your sins and forgive your sins and forgive your sins. I say, I’m sorry, but the Jesus The Bible said, I’ve already forgiven your sins. I’ve already taken away your sins. So which Jesus do you say you believe in? It’s not the one of the Bible, the one of the Bible took away your sins, never to see them again. Put them behind his back, never to see them again. Died in your place, so that you could live in his place. That’s the Jesus of the Bible.
So folks, many times on some of these doctrinal issues, we want to, we want to bring these down to a doctrinal issue. It’s not a doctrinal issue at all. It’s an issue is, have you placed faith in that Jesus of the Bible? You can say, I believe in that Jesus, but I don’t have faith that he did what he did. Well, if I don’t have faith in what he did, then I don’t have faith in him. Any more than I can say I believe and I have faith in him, but I don’t believe he was raised from the dead, then you do not have faith in Him. So it is not a little issue to me, folks. It is a very, very strong issue because we are talking about the person of Christ, Jesus, and to believe in Him, and to believe in his name, is to believe in everything and have faith in everything that he said, that he accomplished for you and me. Otherwise, we’re discrediting the one we say we believe in.
Okay, so it is not by works. No one can boast about it. Now look what he said about us. We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ, Jesus. How many of you were born in Christ Jesus, physically? Remember we have talked about before that Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. Man was not Adam and Eve was created in the image of God, but in the fifth chapter of Genesis. It says when Adam and Eve had Seth, Seth was born in the image of Adam.
