Classic Christianity – The Mystery of God Part 2 (04-15-25)
Bob George Presents: The Mystery of God Week Two Part 2
~ Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and not all members have the same function, so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another. Romans 12:1-5
God is the one who made us Holy, when we stepped out of Adam and stepped into Christ Jesus. We cannot make ourselves holy. Today, we don’t follow Jesus, but are led internally and directly by Him, through the Holy Spirit, at every moment of time, for ALL those who are in Christ Jesus. He is our guide who lives in us. And remember, we cannot change the past, nor can we change the future, all we can do is live in this moment of Now, and the things we do and say, we are to allow Him to do and say it through us, and not live in the energy of the Flesh. For we are to LIVE by Faith from first to last, and only those in Christ Jesus can do that.
It’s interesting when you see a legalist and confront them with their false doctrines, they will end up lashing out at you. They will call you all types of things, and even bring false witness against you. That should not surprise us, because that is the same thing they did to Jesus too. So when you point out to a legalist that they are not doing everything that they claim someone should do under some sort of following what Jesus did routine, you need to remind them, that Jesus walked on water, and changed water into wine, and overturned the money changer tables, and miraculously fed the crowds, and healed the sick, and physically raised the dead. And ask them if they are doing those things too? They will also claim that you need to tithe and be water baptized. And then ask them the questions, what brick and mortar church are we to tithe to? And be baptized in what church and by whom? And you will most likely get crickets from them as an answer. For they can’t answer it. For they will be exposed for the lies they are claiming right there. And then they even pull the obeying the “Sabbath” argument out of their hats, as though they think they are obeying it themselves.
“Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a feast, a New Moon, or a Sabbath.” Colossians 2:16

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One having blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world for us to be holy and blameless before Him, in love having predestined us for divine adoption as sons to Himself through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished upon us in all wisdom and understanding, having made known to us the mystery of His will according to His pleasure, which He purposed in Him for the administration of the fullness of the times, to bring together all things in Christ—the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth— in Him, in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His will for us, the ones having first trusted in Christ, to be to the praise of His glory, in whom you also, having heard the word of truth, the gospel your of salvation, in whom also having believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance to the redemption of the acquired possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:3-14

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.
~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12
~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26

Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
“~ So what we have to come to grips with was with all of these things, I am already blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. I want to ask you a question, if you have Christ, Jesus, how much more blessed do you need to be? Just think about that. Well, I got Jesus, but I’d like to get blessed. I got news for you, friend, you just got blessed when you got Christ, Jesus, and you’re not going to get any more blessed, any more than you’ll get any more holy, or you’re going to get any more righteous, or you’ll get any more forgiveness, you’ve got it all. Do we understand that, guys? We’ve got it all in Christ, Jesus. So Paul says that we’ve been blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing.” ~ Bob George

You see grace is giving you something that you don’t deserve mercy is withholding something that you do deserve. Do you understand the two on that? So you see, when you’re dealing with mercy, you’re saying yes, you’re guilty and yes you deserve punishment, but I’m going to withhold that. I’m not going to exercise that. And Grace says, Not only that, I’m going to give you my life. Now is that something? So he says, in regard to the sin issue, I’m not going to punish you and the grace issue, besides that, I’m going to come live in you. I’m going to give you something that you didn’t deserve, and I’m going to withhold something that you did. And that’s mercy and grace working hand in glove with each other in regard to this thing called salvation.
And so when God went to the cross, and there it says, He who knew no sin became sin for you and me. He took upon himself the punishment that I deserved. Why? So that in him we could become the righteousness of God. So what’d he do? Give me something that I did not deserve, but he did that only after he withheld something that I did deserve, punishment. And so by that one offering Hebrews, 10:14, we have been made forever, perfect, complete in the sight of God, all of you whom he has made what? Holy. Could you make yourself holy? No no. Many try. And there’s many people in the Christian world today trying to improve upon what Jesus said, or don’t have a clue that he ever made you holy. So they’re really trying to make themselves holy through what they’re doing. But you see, none of us could ever be found acceptable in the sight of God through our own works, or through obedience to the law or through our good deeds, because he said that all of our good deeds are as filthy rags in comparison to what Jesus accomplished for you.
And so we have to realize that if we’re going to walk by faith, folks, we our faith is not in what you and I are doing. I do not have faith in the fact that if I do something, God will do something. I would hate to have that kind of faith, and yet that is what most people call faith today. If I tithe, God will bless. If I am good, God will do something good for me. And if you’re obedient, God will really bless you. How many times have we heard this? And folks, it’s the very opposite. God has already blessed you. We just got through told you’re blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing. So how in the world are you going to get away with this? If you do this, God will bless you when it says you’ve already been blessed? Faith is not if I do something, God will do something that’s ridiculousness. Faith is God has done something, and I’m going to walk by faith in that. Now, when we don’t understand that, folks, the attention of Christianity is always on what we are doing and what we are not doing, rather than on what he has done, and what he has accomplished, and what he has accomplished was in the mind and the plan of God, before the foundation of the earth put into existence at the time, in his timing, when Jesus came to this earth, in order to save both The HEBREW and the Gentile and make one man out of the two. And so there is no such thing. If you do this, God will bless you. Because again, how would you know that, folks? And you know how most people think along that? When they get a raise, or when all of a sudden you start making money, you’ll hear that, oh, God’s blessing me, not necessarily. It could be Satan cursing you. So don’t ever think because you’re making money, that God’s blessing you. Because who’s blessing you are your clients or the people you’re selling your merchandise to, and unless you’ve got some kind of a weird business, you had to do something to get that back. That’s not blessing. Blessing is when you don’t do something and get something you see.
So what we have to come to grips with was with all of these things, I am already blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. So Paul says that we’ve been blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing.
Now here’s how all this came about. He chose us in him. This is where it all happens in him, before the creation of the world, to do we what? To be holy and blameless in his sight, period. I’m going to provide a way whereby I can look upon you heathens, you people that have no righteousness of your own, who have fallen beyond the depths of imagination. And I’m going to provide a way whereby you can be holy and blameless in His sight. Now, if we don’t recognize we’re a heathen, why that’s not such good news. Look at that and say, cause God, I’d do the same thing as good as you people are. I mean, when someone says, God loves me, I agree. No wonder. I love me too. And if me loved me, I know he loved me. Folks, we have got to see how destitute Man is before we’re going to appreciate how wonderful he is. And guys, if we’ll just use our heads not to be thinking about what I’m doing. Think about what you could think, just your own thinking processes, just what some of you have thought in the last five minutes, possibly. And we realize, apart from Jesus, I can do nothing, I can be nothing, I am nothing. Apart from Him. Why? God made us that way, He made us in such a way whereby God in the man is what makes the man. And when God is not in us, we’re not complete, but when Christ is in us, we are complete. Been given everything we need, for life and for godliness. So he chose us to be holy and blameless in his sight. So you see, now we got this word chose. Now He also predestined us. Now, what was his predestination to be adopted as his sons through Christ, Jesus. Now, let’s stop there. Now, what’s the difference between a natural son and an adopted son? I mean, if you were a natural son, could you be called an adopted son? No, who were the natural sons? The HEBREW who did the gospel go to first, the HEBREW who were given the ordinance of God? The HEBREW. Who were given the laws of God? The HEBREW. Who was given the knowledge of God about the Messiah coming? The HEBREW. Did the Gentile have that information? No, they’re worshiping Diana. They’re over there wallowing in heathenism, worshiping temple prostitutes. So who’s the natural children? The HEBREW, who’s the adopted children? The gentile. Who’s he talking to here? The Gentiles. You’re talking about Ephesus. You’re not talking about Jerusalem. You’re talking about Ephesus, a city full of heathenistic Gentiles. Were there some HEBREWS there too? Sure, they had been there for quite a while with the message of HEBREWISM. And so he’s saying, in God’s sight, in his mind, he also predestined that the Gentile was going to be adopted into the family of God, the same way that the HEBREW was elected into the family of God
Now is that good news? Now, folks, this predestination we’re talking about and choosing has nothing to do with yous and mes. It has to do with the body of HEBREWS and the body of Gentiles. There’s only three categories of people from God’s vantage point on this earth, HEBREW, Gentile and the church called the ecclesia. The Ecclesia made up of born again people, both out of HEBREW and Gentile background. Now a child of God, an ecclesia, a church which is people indwelt by the living Christ. That’s the only three designation of people. There’s no slave, there’s no free, there’s no black, there’s no white, there’s none of that stuff in God’s economy. You’re a Gentile, you’re a HEBREW, or you’re born again, one of the three. Now He predestined that, in other words, is that pretty much the world? God so loved the HEBREW, God so loved the Gentile, that he gave his only begotten son. That’s another way you could put that. The Bible just says, God so loved the world. He not only died for the sins of the HEBREW, but he also died for the sins of the Gentile. The Bible puts it, he not only died for our sins, but the sins of the whole world as well. So what you’re talking about is the entirety of the population of the entire world was predestined by God that through His Son, they would be conformed in the image of His Son. So He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with and you keep seeing this in accordance with the pleasure and will to the praise of his glory and His glorious grace which He has freely given us in the one that he loves.

Bob George 13:06
So folks, where when we were adopted, when the Gentile community, along with the HEBREW community, was predestined by God for salvation that was in accordance with His pleasure and his will. So we have the will of God. We have the pleasure of God. So what does that tell you about God? Does he? Is He pleased to do that? Yes, gave him pleasure. I you know, we talk about pleasure. He had pleasure in saving the world. And that’s what this is talking about. In Him. We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, again, in accordance with the riches of what? Your confession is, that what it says in accordance with the riches of what? God’s grace. Now let’s go back again when you’re talking about grace. What is grace? Giving you something that you did not what? Deserve. All right, now, when I have the mindset and I’m taught that if I ask God to forgive me, he will forgive me. Then would you not have to say that if I ask, then I deserve to be forgiven? Would that be the case? I deserve that I asked, didn’t I? I mean, I went to the confession booth, didn’t I? I mean, I climbed up the steps on my knees, didn’t I? I went to the Day of Atonement, didn’t I? I did what you told me to do. So I deserve to be forgiven. Is that grace? No, if you do something in order for him to do something, then you deserve what you get. So when you’re talking about the fact that I have forgiveness in accordance with the riches of God’s grace, that means that I can do nothing to receive that forgiveness. That means that I do nothing to be redeemed, because if I did something to be redeemed, then I would be getting what I deserve. Grace is receiving what you did not deserve. Mercy is withholding what you did deserve. Are we together?
So when you’re talking about your redemption, that was all according to the foreknowledge of God, according to the election of God, according to the will of God, that you, as a Gentile, would have the opportunity to be redeemed and forgiven the same way that the HEBREW was. Now under the Old Covenant, that God gave to the HEBREW, not to the Gentile. God did not give ever, ever the law to the Gentile. And that’s why Paul said, when I was under the law, that I behaved as one under the law in order to win some under the law, and to those that were not under the law, the Gentile, then I behaved like them in order to win some so the Gentile never was under the law. These churches that many of you have been into and been beaten to death in, who dragged the Old Covenant law in, have done something that God never, ever, ever intended them to do in the first place. He said, I don’t know why you’re under this thing. I never gave it to you. So it’s like going over and stealing someone’s car and then being proud of it. Because the law was never given to those of you in this congregation that are Gentiles, it was never given to you. Now, if you were under that law, how did you get forgiven back in those days? You had had to go sacrifice. You sacrificed. God forgave? Is that grace? Not in grace? You and faith that you did something. God did something.
Now, folks, when we’re talking about now, how so should you go over to the Gentile world and say, Well, how you guys going to get forgiven? You go to a average J@@ish person today who has no religion at all. And in 70 ad, when the sacred, when the temple was destroyed by Titus, in 70 ad, there has not been sacrificial systems since. There’s been no sacrifice since then. So you say, How in the world are you people getting forgiven? Do you ever think about that? How are you experiencing forgiveness? They’re in a sacrificial system. Without the shedding of blood. There is no forgiveness. You certainly are not accepting the one who shed his blood. How in the world do you stand forgiven? And the answer is, well, doing good things, doing good things, doing penance, yeah, doing good things, yeah. So in other words, you’re into a situation where, how in the world are you experiencing forgiveness? So folks, when you’re talking about this in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding, we have to realize that this both takes care of the HEBREW who does not have a temple to sacrifice in and the Gentile that never did have one. Of course, we build a confession booth and the first John one nines and altar calls and all that type of thing, whatever else goes on in order for me to do something, in order for God to forgive me and then say Praise God for His grace, that’s not Grace any more than I could say here Lou is $10 Give me your book and you give me the book to say Praise God for your grace. Grace. I paid for it. Where to say, Lou, I tell you what, I’ll wall around on the floor for a little while, and after I do, will you agree? After a while, long enough to give me your book, and you say, oh, okay, so I wall and wall and wall, and he gives me a book and say, Praise God for your grace. No, I wallowed for that. Amen.
So do we see, folks, what we’re talking about here, that this thing of predestination, of election, all of that type of thing was dealing with nothing except HEBREW and Gentile in order to be able to say, God so loved the entire. World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in him would not perish but have everlasting life.
Now, in verse nine, he also now has made known to us the mystery of his will. So we’re talking about his will according to His purpose, according to His good pleasure. So now here again is this good pleasure. So it pleased God to make known to you and to me the mystery of his will. Now, folks, of the mystery. The Greek word for that is musterion, and that is not like a Perry Mason novel. It is a hidden truth that is revealed at the time that it is chosen by the people to reveal it to you. You join some kind of a secretive organization. They got all these secret things, and after you accomplish this and this and this and this, well, then they reveal the mystery of their organization to you. Well, that’s where that word came from. It’s a revealing at a proper time. And so when the time had fully come, God chose to reveal to us. Who’s the us? Who would be the us in here? It would be everybody would now, who is able to get something revealed to them, to make known is to be revealed? Who’s the only people that have something revealed to them? Born Again people. Who’s the only person that can reveal truth to you. I can’t see, ear, can’t hear, mind, can’t conceive of those things that God has prepared for those who love him, but it must be what? Revealed by the Spirit. Who’s the only people that can be revealed to you? People who have the Holy Spirit of God living in them. If you’re sitting in here today and you’re not born again, you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, because it says those things are foolishness to you, because spiritual things have to be discerned spiritually. And that angers people, especially religious people who think they know something, and they thought they knew the religious people of the day of Jesus, thought they knew what the Bible said. Jesus came along said, you don’t have a clue what it says. And that really made them happy. Oh, well, teach us rabbi, as you’re hanging from the cross and I beat you half to death. So you have to realize that natural man cannot understand spiritual things. That’s foolishness to him.
So he said that he has made known something to you. Now, to every person sitting in this room that’s born again, he has made known to you this mystery. It’s the mystery of his will, so he has a will according to His good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ to be put into effect when the times have reached their fulfillment. What is the pleasure of his good will? What is this mystery? To bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head. That is Christ. That’s his mystery. He said, I’m going to reveal that to you. You tell that to a lost HEBREW, a religious HEBREW, that these heathenistic Gentiles are going to be saved. You got to be kidding. Don’t tell me that stuff. In fact, I’ll crucify you. If you keep talking to me about it. After a while, you tell the Gentile world, who starts looking at the J@@s that have rejected Jesus for 2000 years, and say those J@@s saved the same way you are. Don’t give me that stuff. We’ve been faithful all these years, and that’s that wall that has separated the HEBREW and the Gentile to this very day that can only be broken down through new birth in Christ, where the two of you realize both of you have been now become as one through your relationship with Christ, Jesus. And so all of this was a mystery, and it was God’s pleasure to reveal to us this mystery, and that is, I’m going to bring the two of you into one person in Christ, Jesus, and there’s going to be one head, and that’s Christ. You’re not going to have over here a pope as the head, and over here is a rabbi as the head. You’re going to have one head, and He is Christ, Jesus period.
Now in him, are you in him? Okay, we were also chosen, now that against the Gentile, having been predestined according. According to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will. So what was the purpose of his will? To bring all things in heaven and earth together under one head, that is Christ. Now, why did he want to do that in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, who was that? Who is that the HEBREWS might be for the praise of his glory? And you also, who’s that the Gentiles were included in Christ when you heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, having believed now that’s having believed you and I at the very moment that we come to Christ by faith. And again, folks, there’s two things necessary in salvation. One, I have to see my condition. Two, I have to see His provision. Your condition is not how bad you have been behaving. That’s a result of your condition. Your condition is dead. And that is the condition of every man born on the face of this earth. He is born dead. That is your condition. That is why you bounce prayers off the ceiling. That is why you go through life saying, I really don’t have any meaning and purpose to life. That’s why you say, May as we drink and be happy for him tomorrow, we may die. It doesn’t seem like I have any joy in my life, so may as well go take some drug. It’ll make me giggle for a while. It’s also why religiously you’re out seeking one experience after another, experience after another experience. If you’re not headed toward Toronto, you’re headed toward someplace else in order to get spiritual goose bumps, someplace is why you’ve never rested.
