Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P51 (02-12-25)
We Have Been Given to Each Other By Jesus Himself In Order to Come to the Full Measure of the Understanding of Christ
~ “And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head. From Him the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part.” Ephesians 4:11-16
Today, most are tossed by every wind of doctrine imaginable. And the biggest of ALL the lies from Satan for the church is that of ongoing forgiveness by God. People are living the life of that lie every day. And they never think anything of it. For they still are doing their 1 John 1:9 to “get forgiveness” and others are going to the confession booth to “get forgiveness.” Both are lies. Protestant and Catholics both live the life of a lie. And that’s exactly the way Satan wants it to be. Trust in their denomination or pastor or what they believe their church or priest teaches, but forget the Truth of the Word of God. They throw it away, and give lip service to the actual words of God, “It is Finished.” They don’t believe anything is finished. And thus they are not coming to the full measure of understanding of Christ, because they would rather believe the teaching of Man and demons instead of God and His Word.
And Satan’s henchmen have infiltrated all aspects of those people that are given high standing in the world, as an evangelist for example. Most had no clue the lies that were being taught, and still to this day these transformed evangelists of Satan sell the lies, of ongoing forgiveness by God. And we were all guilty of placing them on a high standing pedestal, because of the attention they received or currently receive in the world through the brainwashing of our minds from Tel a Vision for example. Now we can see with 2020 vision that they were deceivers to the max. And we don’t have to mention names, but trust the Holy Spirit to reveal ALL TRUTH to you.
And make no mistake about it, we were ALL deceived from birth. And today the Holy Spirit is opening the eyes of those that are His to see Truth and to understand what is really going on in the world today. Today, we are NOT to go to Man for answers. We are to go directly to God Himself, who lives in us, if indeed a person is in Christ Jesus. Don’t trust any Man to know ALL Truth, for only God Himself knows ALL TRUTH. And Jesus is TRUTH. So if Jesus is alive living in you, you know TRUTH lives in you. And He wants to renew ALL of our minds. Go directly to God for Wisdom and Understanding and He will give it abundantly without finding fault.
And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.
~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12
~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26
—
~ Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and not all members have the same function, so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another. We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If one’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith; if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is giving, let him give generously; if it is leading, let him lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer. Share with the saints who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.” On the contrary, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:1-21
Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
~ “So you and I sitting in this room, all of us have gifts, and the purpose of the gifts is to serve one another in love, not only to serve here, but to serve out into the marketplace. Because sometimes, when you’re using your gifts out in the marketplace, you’re serving people by them watching you and saying, Where is that coming from? And that gives them an opportunity to know that where it’s coming from is from God. Spiritual gifts. Now he says, there’s all kinds” ~ Bob George

To the gift of servitude, they’ll be down there cleaning up the milk. To someone who has the gift of encouragement. Oh, don’t worry about it, sweet. It can happen to anybody. To the person with the gift of admonishment, you ought to watch what you’re doing on Sunday morning. To the gift of teaching. Let me tell you how things spill. Let me explain that to you. You have all of these different gifts that you will see come out of you naturally by just spilling a glass of milk, and that’s exactly and then, if you’ve got the gift of leadership, why you will try to arrange the table a little differently so that you don’t hit the milk when you when you’re trying to eat breakfast in the morning, you got all of these things that God will show you what your gift is. If you’ll let him. Now, thinking along that line, and let’s say that someone spilled the milk at your table, how many of you think maybe you might be able to identify what your true gift is? Now, after this milk has been spilled? Let me see your see your hands. You got a little better clue on that. Well, follow that. In other words, follow that. That’s a natural what God has given you is a natural gift to help people, the person who wants to get down and clean up the milk and all that, that’s a natural thing. And it says, go be a helper. That would be a group of people that would probably be called Deacons in the church servants, people who help and serve. Many of you have shown that to me over these years, that that is your gift. You love to help and you love to serve. And we’ve got some people that are unbelievable in that capacity. And so that’s where you begin to identify now, what is the purpose of spiritual gifts to edify yourself? I believe that God gave me the gift of teaching. I don’t sit in a room by myself and teach myself in order to edify myself. God doesn’t want us to use the gift for that. You don’t sit around and serve yourself. A cow doesn’t drink its own milk. A tree doesn’t eat its own fruit. It bears fruit for others. The purpose of a spiritual gift is for the benefit of the body. You have ears to hear why? So that my body can hear what’s going on. You have a tongue to speak with, why? To edify the body. So there’s no exception to the fact that a spiritual gift given by God, not the ones that we dream up, but a gift that is given by God is given to you for the edification of the body, to serve the body, to help the body. Do we understand that every part of your body is to serve the body? Is it not? If I’m hungry, my hands help to serve that. My mouth helps to take care of that. Teeth, all of those things are there to serve the function of the body.
So you and I sitting in this room, all of us have gifts, and the purpose of the gifts is to serve one another in love, not only to serve here, but to serve out into the marketplace. Because sometimes, when you’re using your gifts out in the marketplace, you’re serving people by them watching you and saying, Where is that coming from? And that gives them an opportunity to know that where it’s coming from is from God. Spiritual gifts. Now he says, there’s all kinds.
Now let’s turn back to the book of Ephesians. Ephesians, four guys, I’m glad to know that you bring your Bibles with you. It’s vitally important we do that even though we have that up on the screen. This should be a supplement, not a substitute for so because we are we definitely are going to be getting into our scriptures always. Let’s go into Chapter four. As a prisoner of the Lord. Then I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling that you have received. Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love, make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Now he tells us, there’s one body. There’s not a Hebrew body and a Gentile body. There’s one body. There’s one Spirit. There are people who teach that you’re born again and then later on, you receive the Spirit. That’s nonsense. It’s impossible. If the Spirit of God does not live in you, then you don’t belong to Him. So there’s no way of being born again, and then later on to receive the Spirit. That’s impossible, that’s false teaching. When you’re born again, the Spirit of God comes to live within you. There’s not two spirits. There’s not the one you’re born with, and then another one that you get. There’s one Spirit. Who is that Spirit? The Holy Spirit, and who’s the Holy Spirit? The third person of the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. I want to ask you another question. How many of us would ever have known that, had it not been for Jesus coming, would you have known who, who God was? Would you known that God existed as a God, the Father God, the Son God, the Holy Spirit? Would you have known that apart from Jesus? No, not at all. But when Jesus did come, he explained the Trinity. That’s why he said, I begin in all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore, go and make disciples, baptizing them the name of who? The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey the commandments that I gave you and lo, I’m with you always, even to the end of the age. Why did he say that? To identify them with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who were the Hebrews, identified with the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. At least, they had a trinity, but that’s who their God was. Who’s your God with the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, but they didn’t know who he was until Jesus came.
Now, folks, people have trouble with the Trinity. Some people and a seminary professor once said that anyone who tries to or denies the Trinity will lose his soul, and anyone who tries to understand the Trinity will lose his mind. And that’s probably true. Now here’s the reason. God is what? Spirit. Let me ask you, what’s the spirit look like, any of you seen one lately? I don’t mean in your imagination, seen one. No, we’ve not seen one. God is Spirit, and you must worship Him in spirit and how? In truth. So we know something about the Spirit, truth, truth, truth. You cannot put flesh and blood around a spirit. So now, when you hear God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, what’s the first thing you do in your mind? Well, you put flesh and blood around them, don’t you? You kind of envision what the Father looks like. You kind of envision what the Son looks like, what the Holy Spirit looks like, is that sober thinking? Is that what’s talking about? Thinking soberly? No, because you can’t dress up a spirit. So can three of you be one? No. But in the spiritual realm, can three be one? There’s an egg. An egg is made up of a shell and a white and a yolk. Is it not? Which one’s the egg? Now, if you put an egg up in the attic and decided that the people down the kitchen are having some problems, and you took the yoke, put it down in the kitchen. Would there be any less of an egg in the house? Would there still be an egg in the house? Yeah, the yoke could be down here, white and shells up there, but there’s still an egg in the house. Now, I don’t know where that helps you with Jesus or not, it does with eggs. You, but in essence, that’s what God did. The yoke came down to this earth. They’re no less God. There was still the white and the shell, but the yoke was down here, ministering to us, down here, until he went back to the Father and then sent the white to live in all of us. And so we may not be able to comprehend all of that, but we can apprehend it. Can we not? And so the Trinity is something that don’t try to put flesh and blood on you can’t do it. How? God exists in three and yet is one that’s spiritual stuff, and you gotta apprehend it, but please don’t try to comprehend it, because you cannot comprehend spirit any more than you can comprehend what people want to comprehend, and that is foreknowledge, all of that type of thing. That’s God’s stuff. We have no point of reference to it at all, none at all. Can’t even enter into it.
And so he’s saying to us, there’s one Body, there’s one Spirit, just as you were called to, one Hope, not two hopes, one Lord. There is not Jesus is Lord, and Buddha is Lord, and Mohammed is Lord, and all that nonsense, there is one Lord. And that one Lord came to this earth, took upon himself, our humanity, entered into our death with us, so that we could enter into eternal life with Him, one Lord, one Faith, not two, not a Hebrew faith and a Gentile faith, not a Muslim faith, not a Buddhist faith, one faith. And who is that faith in? One God,who is Jesus. Don’t ever let someone tell you all we all worship you here that all we all worship same God. Nonsense, nonsense. There’s only one God, and he doesn’t contradict himself. If the God we worship the same God of the Muslim, then whoever, if God, wrote both of those books, he must be a nitwit, because he contradicted himself all over the place. There’s one God, there’s one faith, there’s one baptism, there’s one Father of all, who is overall and through all and in all. But God’s given us the grace and has given us as Christ proportionate.
So going down now into verse 11, it was he God who gave some to be apostles. Now we’re going to see how he ultimately formed the early church. He gave, first of all himself, did he not? And then to those men, those inner core were his followers, His apostles. And one of the criteria for being an author of the New Testament was to be an apostle or an amanuensis of an apostle, to have been with him for his baptism, death, burial and resurrection, and seen that, observed that. And so we realize that he gave, then some to be apostles now who was to carry out the teaching of Jesus when he went away, Did not Jesus say I’m going away, but it’s good for you that I am going away, for when I do, I’m going to send my Spirit to live in you, and you’re going to be my body? But who were the authorities in regard to the Word of God right after Jesus ascended, who were they? The apostles, and if you wanted to know what truth was, or you were having a wonderment about it, that’s who you went to, the apostles. They were the authority.

Bob George 13:56
Now, there weren’t many of those. There were, as far as we know, the 12 and they were the authority in regard to the interpretation of the word of God, and ultimately, the ones who wrote down this book in which we hold in our hands today were written By apostles or amanuensis of an apostle a scribe. Now he gave some to be prophets, and a prophet was a person, back in those days who could prophesy what, nothing more than what we would hold in our hands today, in regard to the New Testament, wasn’t prophesying anything new once we have this word in our hands. There is no new prophecies, evangelists. And he gave some to be pastor teachers. So that was the early foundation a pastor teacher to. The purpose of teaching, an evangelist for the purpose of teaching and a prophet for the purpose of teaching and an apostle for the purpose of teaching. Now, why did he give those those people to us? To prepare verse 12, God’s people, for a work of service. He did not say to entertain lost people. He did not say to develop programs that will be acceptable to all people. He said, to teach you truth so that you and I can think soberly. It doesn’t matter how many spiritual goose bumps you get. It doesn’t matter how entertained that you get. If you don’t think properly and you don’t think soberly, you are to be pitied of all people, are you not? And all you’re going to do is just get in entertainment groups if you’re thinking stupid, so that you can think more stupid, and then get in small groups and collect your ignorance. God never intended the church to be anything except a place where you learn to grow so that you can think soberly in accordance with the faith that God has given us, to learn to be students of the Word of God.
So he prepares people for their work of service, their work of ministry. How come? So that the body of Christ may be built up, built up until we all reach unity in the faith. Now, folks, in order to have unity in the faith, you have to have something to unify around. Do you not? You can’t have unity unless you have someone to unify. That’s why people talk about, oh, Pray for the peace of Israel. Folks, if you’re going to pray for Israel, pray the Messiah will come back soon. Because until he does, there will be no peace in Israel. And you’re praying for something that is impossible, according to the Word of God, to bring peace to Israel is an impossibility until the Prince of Peace is looked upon, and they look upon the one whom they pierced. And every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. That’s unity. Why? You got someone to unify around, and that’s Christ, Jesus. And so he the purpose of teaching and of using your gifts is for one purpose, to draw people to Jesus, so that all of this diversity out there draws everything right to the head. We sit around and worship the body, and we talk about what the body is doing, and we forget the head. And folks, we’re like a chicken with a head cut off many times. We’re flapping around. We’re making a lot of noise, spreading a lot of blood all over the place, but we don’t have a head. Have you ever seen a chicken with a head cut off? They’re a mess, and you’re going to become one if you get around them. He says, We need unity, unity of the Spirit, until we all reach unity in the faith, not unity and we’re all doing the same thing at the same time, the same place, same degree of enthusiasm, unity in the faith. We’ve all come to know something, and that’s Jesus and the knowledge of the Son of God. What’s he want us to be built up to? To reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and to become what? Mature attaining. Look at this, folks, to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ, to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Do you get that?
Now you remember guys in Ephesians, where it talks about the prayer, where Paul prays and I pray that out of his glorious riches right above that that he may strengthen you with power in your inner being, so that Christ may be at home in your heart through faith, and I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp in your mind the height and depth and breadth and width of the love of God and to know this love that surpasses knowledge. How come? So that you. Be filled to the measure with all of the fullness of God. Now he just repeats this again down here, becoming mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of God. What does he want us to know? So that we will attain the fullness of the love of God, the fullness of God, and to attain the whole measure of the fullness of God. He wants us to know the love of God, the height and depth and breadth and width of the love of God, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, so that you might be filled to the measure with the fullness of God. Do you want to read that? You can go right up to verse 14 in chapter three. I just recited it, but let’s read it together.
For this reason, I kneel before the Father from whom his whole family in heaven and earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, that he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit and your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, live there, dwell there, through faith, and I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, to establish yourself in the love of God, may have power together with all the saints, not power to go out and do something big, not powerful, that type of power, But power to grasp something that you may have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, folks quit trying to figure it out and enter into it. God loves you. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. Trials can’t, tribulation, can’t, sin, can’t, death, can’t know when all these things were more than conquerors through him who loved us and gave himself for us. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. Are you rooted in that? I mean, really rooted in that. If someone that you know dies, are you rooted in the fact that nothing separated them from the love of God because they’re in Christ and they’re in a better place than you are, or are we grieving like the heathen do? Which is it, if you’re about to die, are you grieving like the heathen do? Or do you realize that one of these days, as all of us, we’re going to be absent from the body, present with the Lord, and I’m going to move into the presence of the love of God and know that love in all of its fullness, when you run into trials and tribulation. Do you know the love of God, that nothing can separate you from the love of God and of God before you, who can be against you? Do you know that, are we rooted in it? If we are, we have unity. We’re all together in something. Nothing. And I’m not talking about lip service, guys, there’s a lot of people give lip service to thing. I’m talking about when the rubber hits the road. Do you know it? Are you rooted in it? Do you know that nothing can separate you from the love of God? Trials can’t have been through tribulation, can’t have been through those, all of those things. You’ve been through them, and you learn something, you grew in your knowledge of something, nothing separated me from the love of God.
People talk about, well, when you sinned, you’re separated. No, you’re not.No, you’re not. How could you be separated? When it says, If God is in the light as you’re in the light, the blood of Jesus continually cleanses you of all sins imaginable, there any way to get in the darkness. Many of us have tried, but sin is not even going to separate you from the love of God. You know. Why do you know? Why? Because your sins have been what taken away? Have they been dealt with that? Were they judged? Everything you’ve ever done or will do tomorrow, I’ve done yesterday, everything in your life. Were those sins judged? What was the verdict? Guilty. What was the punishment? Death, and who took it? Jesus, how much of it? All of it, how’s much is left for you? None. That’s why there’s no condemnation awaiting you, who belong to Christ, Jesus, because the law of the Spirit of Life set you free from the law of sin and death. Did we deserve that? Folks? Did we earn it? We just rejoice in it.
Now, if you’re walking by faith under a guilt trip, God did not give you guilt. He took away your sin. And what? Guilt. In order to feel guilty, you got to be guilty. Now you may be guilty on something down here, so don’t get those two confused, but from God’s vantage point, it’s been taken away. So if you’re feeling guilty to God, you may as well forget that one, because God has taken that away. He said, There’s nothing I’m accusing you of what I would have accused you of I accused you of at the cross, and my Son stepped in between my wrath and you and took it all for you. So there’s nothing that can separate you from the love of God.
Now, can you do things to be separated from family from each other? Can you do things to be separated from society, like put in jail? Yeah, those are natural repercussions down here. Are they not? And those are natural and they’re justified, but not from God. God said, I’ve already done that, and that’s why there’s many people that sit in jail that testify to the fact that Bob, I’m freer here than most people are out there, because my freedom is not dependent on where I am, it’s dependent upon who I am, and I’m a Child of God, and I am free in Christ Jesus, regardless of whether I’m in jail or out of jail, I’m free in Christ Jesus. And I can’t tell you the number of letters that we get from prisoners around this country testifying to that truth. What is that a sign of? It’s people who have come to the conclusion that they’ve reached a unity and a faith. They’re not all over the place. They’re not in every wave of doctrine. They’ve reached unity in what they know to be true, that Christ loves me and nothing can separate you from the love of God. And they’ve reached this unity. They’re becoming mature in their understanding of this, and they’re attaining the measure of the fullness of Christ. They’re living in the fullness of Christ Jesus, life, living in them, which is your hope of glory.

John 3:3
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
