Classic Christianity – Grow and Mature – Part 3 – 6-11-25
Who Are You Trusting, Man or God?
~ First off, it’s important to understand that it is very easy to hook on to the teaching of Man, rather than the Truth of the Word of God. We have all done it. We trust Man instead of looking at the word of God for ourselves to verify if things are true or not. We simply parrot to others what we have heard from Man, instead of reading something directly out of the word of God for ourselves and have the Holy Spirit teach us ALL truth. It doesn’t matter how much we think a person is teaching Truth in one area of scripture, if they are NOT properly grounded in foundational truth of the True Gospel, that we are saved by the Life of Christ, NOT His death, they will surely be teaching the lies of satan in other areas too. And even those that have the proper foundation will still be teaching other things that need to be corrected and repented of. For we have ALL believed and promoted satan’s lies.
We throw out the names of people that we assume are being used by God, only to later on discover that they were spreading satan’s key lies in regards to what salvation is. If at this point in time, after everything you yourself have been taught by God, and you still think someone was sharing the gospel who said “God will forgive your sins if you ask Him to,” then you have promoted a false gospel message which is no gospel at all. And 99.9% or more of the religions, pastors, teachers and Evangelists today teach the lie of ongoing forgiveness by God, with thousands, tens of thousands, millions streaming down the aisles to get their sins forgiven and calling that salvation, which is a chief LIE of satan for the church today. Now you have to ask yourself, how can someone be teaching that lie and be saved today? Why would anyone want to listen to someone that teaches the very foundational lie of spitting in the face of God Himself and denying that Jesus forgave ALL the sins of the whole world at the cross? Why would anyone want to promote those that promote the lie of ongoing forgiveness? Because we were brainwashed to believe and passed that lie on to others, that we should not judge another person as to whether they are lost of saved. By the way, the word of God is always taken out of context on judging others too. Satan did that intentionally, so that we would not call a spade a spade. Yet people overlook the verse of the True child of God judges ALL things. And do you not know, that we will judge angels too? “Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!” 1 Corinthians 6:3. And if you found out someone was an evil infiltrator, one that is satan’s own transformed minister of righteousness, as part of the body of Christ, would you continue to promote them? “Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:15. What if you found out that a world renowned evangelist was spreading satan’s lies in regards to forgiveness, and didn’t realize it at the time, but later on you realized the error of your ways of promoting them. Would you change your mind and stop promoting them? Of course you would. That’s called repentance (a change of mind). And we ALL who are in Christ judge ALL things going forward. Note we cannot change what we have said in the past, but going forward we can stop propping up individuals who spread Satan’s key lies in regards to salvation. For a child of God is constantly being disciplined and having their mind renewed by God himself. And no discipline feels good at the time. So start judging for yourself and about yourself, on the things you have found out and depend on Christ Jesus to teach you all Truth from He who lives in you, the Holy Spirit of God if indeed He does live in you. And the child of God will be having many moments in their life where they will discover they believed lies or promoted others that promoted Satan’s lies too. Do not beat yourself up, because we have ALL done it. And folks, there are more lies than simply forgiveness going on in the world and church today. But forgiveness and the Life of Christ Jesus is the very heart of the salvation issue. So begin there and set the record straight. Share the True Gospel and be bold as we should. Tell it like it is. And stop being Man promoters and start sharing the Truth of the word of God.
1 Corinthians 2: 14-16
14 The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. 16 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
~ “I have written these things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13
~ I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree together, so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be united in mind and conviction. My brothers, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. What I mean is this: Individuals among you are saying, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.”
Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul? I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, so no one can say that you were baptized into my name. Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that I do not remember if I baptized anyone else. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 1 Corinthians 1:10-17
…..
And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.
~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12
~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one believing in Me, even if he should die, he will live. And everyone living and believing in Me shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?” John 11:25,26
—
Pray to God:
Do you really want to know the WHOLE Truth of what is going on today?
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of the world today and give me the wisdom to know the truth and identify the lies of the devil. Thank you God.”
~ “But again, let’s get back. Who are we trusting? God, you’re not trusting a man, not trusting just another prophet. You’re trusting the man who said, I am the way, I am the truth and I am the life, and that no man will come to the Father except through me. You’re trusting God. Where does all this trust start? Well, it starts with trusting him for your new birth. It starts with a recognition that you and I did not come into this world saved. You have people who will say, I’ve been a Christian all my life. That’s an impossibility, because no one is born a Christian. No one came out of his mother’s womb saying, Praise Jesus. You may have grown up in a church, but you didn’t. Weren’t born. You didn’t grow up being born again. Being born again spiritually is like being born physically. There is a day in time of history when you were born again. There’s a day. Now I don’t remember when I was born the first time, but fortunately, my folks have reminded me of that, so I can celebrate that, and I had the privilege of being able to celebrate that on Groundhog’s Day, so I got a very special day for my birthday. Nothing like being a groundhog, but I can celebrate that day, but I’ll remember it, but I know that’s when I was born. Sometimes you may not remember the exact day that you were born again spiritually, but if you have been born again spiritually, you know that there was a time back then when this happened to me. Don’t remember exactly when that was, but this is what happened. I came to know Jesus. I put my faith in Jesus.” ~ Bob George

So that’s the identity I want. That’s the only identity that I have that’s worth anything. The rest of it is going by the wayside. Say, who are you? I’m a surgeon. Who would you be if your hands were cut off? Who are you? I’m a model. Who you going to be when you get ugly? The issue is those are temporary identities, but the only permanent identity that you and I have is the one given to us by our Creator, and that is, you are a child of the living God. Why don’t we? Why are we happy with that? Why do we have to grab a hold and tenaciously hang on to oh, I’m a Protestant, or I’m a Catholic, or oh I’m a Buddhist, or I’m I’m I’m a. Instead of Hold on a minute, God didn’t call me any of those things. God called me a child of God. Well, where do child of God’s people go on Sunday? I don’t know. Some of them go on Saturday. Well, where do they go? Well, hopefully you go where you can hear the Word of God. But not all do, and so we don’t grow, we don’t grow and mature. So guys, if we’re going to grow and mature. There’s a case where we’ve got to set aside everything except the focal point. There’s a time in our hearts where we have to put aside all of these biases that we have and say no, just like Paul. Think about it, guys. Paul was engrossed in these deals, engaged him. I consider them all dung. I consider them all dung. Anyone here consider dung being a Baptist Presbyterian? I do. It’s dung compared to that of knowing Christ, because there aren’t going to be Baptists or Presbyterians or Catholics or Methodists in heaven, just born again people, that’s all, no denominations going to heaven, just people, who, as a matter of faith, have ultimately come to the end of themselves. And when I say coming to the end of themselves, putting all this other stuff behind them, saying it’s all worthless, and I’m coming to who said I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE, and no one comes to the Father except through me. Now guys, why is that unique? What is unique about a man who says, I am the way, I am the truth, and I am the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through me? What does that tell you about him? Unique. Would any of you? I don’t care how precious you got to man. Do you think any of you would ever, or I would ever have the audacity to stand up and say, Guys, I got some news for you. Bob just made a nice announcement, but I got a better one. I am the way, and I am the truth and I am the life, and you don’t come the Father, except through me. And I would hope that you’d run me out of here in a straight jacket, right or wrong. Didn’t run Jesus out. Declared he was who he was. Uniqueness of Jesus, God, God, that’s what’s unique about him.
Now, when God comes and says that I am the bread of life, and he who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. We look at that as physical, but he’s saying that’s a spiritual truth. You have to have bread and water to live, and you have to have my bread and my water to live spiritually. He said, I’m the light. If you’re in darkness, you need light. How many people are religious today who are religiously in darkness? I was for 36 years, I went to church. I was a church member. When I came to Jesus at age 36 and opened up this Bible, it cracked, squeaked. Why? Well, it never been open. It. Why it would have been the most unusual thing in the world to walk into my Presbyterian church with a Bible. You kidding? With one of those? What for? Never read it. Don’t know what’s in it. Don’t care what’s in it. You got your routine. Sing a song. Pass the offering plate. Be sure to do that. Put my dollar in it. My hilarious giving. I listen to about a 15 minute dissertation on why we ought to be feeding the poor, sing the benediction and go home and walk out and shake the hands of the pastor and say good message. And he says, Thank you. Satan told me the same thing. Every Sunday. Did I think there was anything unusual about that? I didn’t know there was anything unusual about it. Didn’t know there’s anything different about it. And folks, there’s 1000s upon 1000s of people every Sunday that there’s no more meaning to their church attendance than what I just went through, I’m not knocking church. We have one, so please don’t think I’m knocking one. This is a church, not knocking pastors. I am one. I’m saying that there’s a difference between a pastor teaching truth and a pastor teaching error. And the only way you’re going to know whether you’re sitting under somebody who’s teaching you truth or not, is to get into the source of truth. And I ain’t the source of truth. The Holy Spirit is.
The Holy Spirit of God who lives in you is a source of truth. It’s the Holy Spirit of God that this Bible says that no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor mind is conceived of those things that God has prepared for those who love Him. But it has to be revealed by the Spirit. You cannot figure out the meaning of the word of God in your energy of your own flesh. Period. Quit trying. It is an absolute impossibility, the Spirit of God living in you. And if the Spirit of God doesn’t live in you, there’s no way in the world for you to understand the meaning of the word of God. That’s why you got all these denominations. But if the Spirit of God is alive, living in you, and that spirit is called the spirit of what? Truth. This is Jesus living in you, who we’re told is full of what? Grace and truth. So guess what the Spirit’s going to be revealing to you and me, grace and truth. And folks, I want to tell you something. If the Spirit of Truth is living in you. The Spirit of Truth is not going to continue rebelling against truth. So when I see people who are continually and tenaciously insistent upon rebelling against truth, it’s an indicator there is no truth living in them. That’s why they’re rebelling against. No truth, living in not born again, religious, but not born again.
That’s one of the characteristics, one of the ways that you can know that you’re born again is this Bible comes alive. How many of you ever tried to read the Bible before you were saved. And what was it? The mystery book. What in the world is this thing talking about? And then you become saved. And what happens? Someone rewrote the Bible? I can understand it, and it’s true. I understand this well. How do I understand it now and couldn’t understand it later? Because I have the spirit of understanding living in me. So guys, what I’m trying desperately to get across is that God wants you and me to trust Him. God wants you and me to trust him. To say, Lord Jesus, this is your game, not mine. For me to live, is Christ. So this is your life, not mine. I’m in your hands. I’m going to trust you with my life. And then, not only that, but I’m going to trust you with Amy’s life. There’s the tough one, and I’m going to trust you with Debbie’s life and John’s life and Bob’s life and the grandkids life. I’ll say, Well, hold on, that’s going a little bit too far. You. Mean, those are tests. That’s that’s saying you’ve got to trust teenagers. Yeah, it’s true, but to learn to trust him. He is trustworthy.
But again, let’s get back. Bob George 13:33
I didn’t put my faith in my baptism because I didn’t get to save you. I didn’t put my faith in the fact I joined the church that isn’t going to save you. I didn’t put my faith in the fact that I was confirmed in the Lutheran church. That ain’t going to save you. It’s a day that I put my faith in Jesus. Put my faith in His death, taking away my sins from the eyes of God never see them again. Putting my faith in His resurrection, where he was raised from the dead after entering into my spiritual death with me, dying just like me. God, in the flesh, died like me. He entered into my death with me so that I could enter into His resurrection with him giving me life, I came, but you might have life. I am the resurrection and the life. And whosoever believes in me though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? You say I did. I do believe that it’s born again. That’s how you get started. Now you’re now, you’re just kind of out on the gurney you’ve been delivered. But as a baby. Okay, now I want to say something else that baby that was born, or when you were born, did you ever grow another nose or another ear or another mouth? Now, you’ve had some parts of your body develop, some more than others, but you’ve had development, but and maturity, but you didn’t get anything new from the day you were born on. Still got same number of toes, fingers, everything else. Is that right or wrong? So? Were you born complete? Were you born mature? No, but you were born complete, not going to give you anything new. What does the Bible say about us spiritually? You have been given every thing that you need for life and godliness. So the minute you were born again, you were given everything you need for life and godliness. Now maturity can take place. Now, if you do not feed that baby, what’s going to happen to it? It’s going to die. If you don’t give nourishment to that baby, what’s going to happen to it? It’s going to die. If that baby doesn’t get exercise, what’s going to happen to it? It’s going to die, going to fade up and die. Those are things that you must do if you’re going to grow and mature.
Now, as far as spiritually is concerned, when you’re born again, and you do get this teaching sometime, man, all your problems have gone away. If you’ve been a drug addict, you ain’t going to be one anymore. That’s nonsense. You’re just starting. You’re starting down a growth process. You’re starting down to renew your mind. Be not conformed to the world, but transformed how? By the renewing of the mind. Quit resisting your mind being renewed. You know, people do say, God, if I, if I go along with this, I’m going to start thinking again. God forbid, said, I want to renew your mind. What do you mean? I want to renew your mind. I want to teach you truth. You don’t know truth. How are you going to know truth when you’ve never had an encounter with truth? Until the day you were born again you didn’t have an ounce of truth living in you. You had some education, but Paul had that. That’s what he said, I considered done. Got knowledge, but do you have wisdom? No, don’t have wisdom. Do you have truth? No. Do you know the way? No. So he says, I’m going to renew your mind and guys, that’s where maturity comes in. He wants us to grow and mature. How are we going to do that? Well, you got to, you got to feed. Well, what are you going to feed on? Right here. Word of God, if that’s what he considers, this is the bread of life. Why that’s what he’s talking about. You’re going to have to get in here and ask God to reveal the meaning of this book and start studying truth. Don’t start asking the church, Hey, what should I believe? You know, that’s what people Hey, what do you want me to believe? You tell me what to believe, and I’ll believe it. That’s just intellectual suicide.
But he said, I’ve given you truth. It’s in your hands. I want you to feed on there. I want you to depend upon the Spirit of God who lives in you, to reveal truth to you and let that truth set you free. Want you to grow. Want you to mature. You’re a cute little baby. We saw on television yesterday, a deal of this little baby forget how old that little kid was, but he had cancer. It’s the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. His poor father, his poor mother, sitting there with this young kid. Cutest little squirt you ever want to see. I sit there and bawled, that kid dying of cancer. Take Lord Almighty. But just think with me the heart of God who sees his children born and then sees them dying of cancer because they’ve never fed on the Word of God starved to death. No, liquid in them, because they’ve never fed on the Word of God, just been born, and God says, I want you guys to grow. I want you not to just be born again. I want you to grow. Why do young people get in trouble? Why do you turn to drugs? And why do we turn to alcohol? Why do you turn to affairs and all this stuff? And everybody says it’s so much fun, they don’t show you the ramifications of it. They just show you the fun. It’s because we’ve not gone to get our fun in. Where fun is that’s in Jesus, to be able to have the peace of God that passes understanding, to be able to have a clear conscience, to be able to recognize that, Gee, I don’t even need to have a good memory. So I don’t need a lie, because if you don’t lie, you don’t need a good memory, but turning to things that you know are wrong, because you’ve never really turned to what’s right and to grab a hold of it, to grow mature in it. And God wants you to grow and mature, guys. He wants you to teach your kids to grow and mature and not be babes in Christ. Paul talks about that. He said, by now you ought to be teaching, but you’re still babes. You’re still feeding on milk.
And so what my admonishment is to you today is this book is available to us. I want you to understand first of all, how this thing is made up. I want you to understand that there is a New Covenant, and most of you do that God ushered in for you and me today, that New Covenant is like a will told that in Hebrews, a will is not in force until the one who made it what? Dies. And so that New Covenant that we live under today did not go into effect until Jesus died. So the Gospels are Old Covenant. The gospels are a recordation of the life of Jesus when he was here under the law, because the New Covenant didn’t go into effect until his death. So in essence, the New Covenant, or the New Testament, starts in the book of Acts, not in the book of Matthew. Jesus taught under the old. He buried us under the old he took the law and amplified it. The law says, don’t commit adultery. I say unto you, if you look at a woman that’s lust in your heart, you’ve already committed adultery. And all the guys say, Oh, wonderful news, Lord. And the law says do not kill but I say, if you’re angry at somebody, you’ve already murdered them. And we say, I think I did that about six times on the freeway getting to work. He says, You can’t do it. I’m going to amplify the law. I’m going to take the law and I’m going to show you the meaning of the law, and in so doing show you something about yourself that you must know before you ever be saved.
Paul put it this way, the things that I want to do I don’t do, and the things that I don’t want to do, I do them anyway. Now if I keep doing what I don’t want to do, it’s clear where the problem is. Sin lives in me. There’s your problem. Sin lives in me. And then came to a conclusion, wretched man that I am, who will free me from this bondage of sin and death. And the answer back is Praise be to God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Catch this. There is now no condemnation awaiting you, who belong to Christ, Jesus. How many of you believe that, and how many of you ever said, I wonder if God’s punished me for this? Is that a contradiction to terms? Is that a ridiculous thing to say? If you believe there’s no condemnation, how are you going to say I wonder if God’s punished me for this. So get that out of your vocabulary. Who did he punish for your sin? Christ. That’s why there’s no condemnation awaiting you. Do you believe that, guys, we have many, many people who one of the big misconceptions about our ministries, they go back to us, it’s so exciting. Say, praise God, I don’t have to confess my sins anymore. Bob George said that, well, there’s a problem, right there. Don’t have to confess my sins anymore. Where did you ever hear me say you don’t confess your sins? Doesn’t the Bible say, confess your sins. What? One to another. What do I say? The Bible says, because it’s what it says, There is no more punishment for your sins. There is no more asking for forgiveness for your sins. If you are forgiven, then what is faith? Asking God to forgive you when you’re already forgiven? Now, guys, you don’t have to be a brain scientist figure this out. God was in Christ reconciling the whole world unto Himself, not counting your sins against you. Do you believe that or not? Well, if that’s true, then how many of your sins have been put behind the back of God never to see them again? It how many guys? Or Is that true, or just some of them, or did he forget some? Or what in the world was he doing up there anyway? Because he didn’t seem to accomplish much. Jesus took away the sins of the entire world from the eyes of God, never to see them again. Is that right or wrong? Well, then how much sense does it make for you to continue asking him to do what he said I’ve already done? Is that faith or presumption? Which is it? So the whole issue guys, it’s not that you do not agree with God, that as a child of God Lord, I’ve been doing things contrary to who I am, and I agree with you, but it’s a thing I also agree with you that you took that sin away at the cross 2000 years ago. And if that’s true, what should my response be to my sin? If that’s true, if that’s true, that he took away that sin 2000 years ago from the eyes of God, never to see them again. And if that’s true, and believe me, that is true, what is the only response that you can have? What is it Guys? Thank you. You all believe that. So there’s a world of difference between saying thank you and begging him to do what in Christ he’s already done, and yet we keep forgiveness, keep seeking what we already got That’s not faith. That does not please God. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. That is not faith and that is not pleasing to God. What is pleasing to God? In all things, give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you in Christ, Jesus and guys, there’s only one way that you can live in thankfulness, and that’s to live in trust, trusting God with everything of your life.

John 3:3
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
