You Need to Have Your Identity in Christ Jesus

~ “Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3

~ Having a proper identity in Christ Jesus is paramount to living the Christian life. If a person has their identity as a Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, or any of the 1000s of denominations, then Satan has got them wrapped up in the lie of religion. And one of the key lies is that of ongoing forgiveness by God. They ALL teach it in one way or another. The Catholic religion teaches going to a priest for ongoing forgiveness by God, and Protestants teach of ongoing forgiveness by God by directly asking for what Jesus has already done. Both are teaching Satan’s big forgiveness Lie.

So understand this, we who are in Christ Jesus are sons of God. He made us a child of God when we placed Faith in Him, and the Holy Spirit came and placed His Life inside of us. For this reason, nothing can separate us from Him. We are His forever and ever.

A caller asked about a friend that is Greek Orthodox who doesn’t want to listen to the Truth
Bob responds:

“Jesse, probably the reason for the stubbornness that you’re talking into is that his identity is wrapped up in his denomination, Russian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, many times in the Old World, Russian Orthodox, where my wife was born, in Russia, or in the Ukraine. Why Russian Orthodox was the major religion the Czar was a part of that. Ultimately you had the Greek Orthodox. But all of those were a spin off, basically, of the Greek Orthodox. And so you get tied up. That’s a part of my identity, just like a person growing up in Italy as an example, or growing up in in Spain, or in in Mexico, they’re Catholic down in Mexico and in South America, 95% of the population of the world down there is Catholic, they say, then the remaining five are priests. So you’ve got your you’ve got people who are just, that’s just part of their identity, and that’s what you have to get through. Is your identity is not based in being a Catholic or a Greek Orthodox, your identity has to be based in what God calls you. And there is no place in the Bible where he says to his men, he’s received him to them, I’ll give the right to become a Greek Orthodox or a Russian Orthodox, or a Catholic or a Presbyterian or a Baptist or a Methodist. Those are all man made organizations where you’re going to what you are going to be made into as a child of God, to as many as received Him, to them, he gave the right to become a child of God. That’s your identity, not Greek Orthodox or Russian Orthodox or anything else. And people need to see the the truth of that. But I want to tell you, if your identity is tied up in those things. It’s a hard nut to crack, but the issue is, if it isn’t cracked, they’re going to spend a lot of time in hell with the Greek Orthodox or the fact or whoever else their identities with, because there isn’t going to be a Jesus down there, and so you’ll be tied in with religion, but you’re not going to be tied in with Jesus, because he ain’t going to be there. Christ is in heaven waiting for those who will come to Him by faith, not come to him by denominational persuasion. And so it’s, I think that’s where you have to start Jesse, and that’s where you kind of have to finish, is in the fact that let’s go into the Scripture and see if you can find anything in there about Greek Orthodox the early church. People say, Well, you got to go back and stay the early church, where you study the early church, you have to go to Corinthians and Galatians and Philippians, Galatians, that was the early church. These others were Johnny come lately’s. And basically they became political machines. The way that those got formed was through trying to gain spiritual political power. In other words, we got to get everybody together thinking the way we do. And that’s how those were formed. Catholicism, as an example, came out of Greek Orthodox in. The Greek Orthodox Church as it expanded into Italy, into Rome. That would be the equivalent of expanding into Washington, DC. And so it became prevalent because of where it was. And there was a rift between the two. The people in Rome wanted to have a pope, and the Greek Orthodox people did not want to have a pope, so they excommunicated each other and and can’t stand haven’t been able to stand each other since. And so where’d the Catholic Church come from? Greek Orthodox? Where’d the Greek Orthodox come from bunch of believers that were either believers or some or people who pretended to be believers, who wanted to gain power and get all the churches together and and have power over people. And so you got a denomination that’s formed, but the true believers were the ones still sitting in the homes. They were the true believers, the people sitting in the homes, just worshiping Jesus and not getting involved in all the political turmoil that flooded both the Greek Orthodox and the Catholic Church and ultimately into the Protestant denominations, whereby it becomes a more of a political machine than it is people who are Truly worshiping Christ, Jesus as their Lord. So Jesse, that’s the best answer I have for that right now.” ~ Bob George
