Salvation is When God’s Life is Living in You

~ “Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit. Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:5-8

~ Only those who are born again of the Spirit of God, have the Holy Spirit living in them for Life. Many think they are born again, and are simply professors but NOT possessors of the Spirit of God living in them. For if they did, they would want to know more, and understand more, and to be inquiring of God. They would be seeking out for Truth and understanding. Yet we can tell, by the actions of many people today, they have a ho-hum attitude to the things of God. There is a difference between those who say they believe, and those who have true faith.

Bob George addresses callers’ questions on biblical interpretations. Ernesto inquires about the Holy Spirit’s role before Pentecost, explaining that the Spirit’s presence before the cross was for specific divine service, not permanent indwelling. Ernesto also seeks clarification on 1 Timothy 2:15, which Bob interprets as a call for women to live modestly and submit quietly. Donna asks about the Lord’s Prayer, and Bob clarifies the meaning of “lead us not into temptation.” Michael and Mark discuss the importance of abiding in Christ, emphasizing the need for personal relationship and understanding of God’s love and grace.

“Mark, I think you’re, I think you’re 100% right. There’s a world of difference, instead of being a professor and a possessor, and there’s a lot of people that can learn the vernacular and become what I call apes and parrots. Were aping the actions of Christians and parroting the words of Christians, but there’s no reality at all. Jesus came to die for me, he didn’t come to just die on a cross to be looked at that as a historical fact. He called he came to die because if he didn’t, I would be lost, and he came to be raised again from the dead in order to free me from the bondage of death through the law, so that I could be free in Christ. That’s why he came, and we reduced that to just a historical event, like Lincoln was killed in the Ford theater. Well, Biggie deal, but what’s that got to do with me? And we never get down to hold on a minute. Jesus saw me in need, and he came to meet that every need, giving me everything that I needed for life and godliness. Why? Because I needed it. And we failed to realize that everything God did, he did because we are needy, and we don’t like to admit we’re needy. We don’t like to admit that we are sinners, and we don’t like to admit that we’re dead, but until we do, we’re not prepared for what he came to provide for us. So I think the internalizing of these things Mark is that we don’t see that we had a need, that God so demonstrated His love toward us, and that while we were sinners, he came to die for us. Why did he come to die for us? Because we were sinners.

And if you stop there many times Mark between the Jesus, who was, in other words, when you were saved, and the Jesus who will be when he comes back as a spiritual vacuum that most Christians live in, and they never get beyond talking about their salvation experience, or when they get bored with that they talk about Jesus coming again, but they don’t realize that Jesus is very real in your life today, and he came to live in you today and to love you today. And that’s what it means to abide in Christ means to bask absolutely while. And His grace and His love and His truth. And there’s not many people that are doing that. We still hit the guilt trips, and we still want to listen to our denominational persuasion instead of getting into the Word of God and being taught by God, he say, you know, it’s the same thing was in the scriptures. Remember what he said? We’ll listen to Moses, but we don’t want to listen to God. Remember that passage? We’ll listen to Moses, but I don’t want to listen to God. Same thing is true today. I’ll listen to the pastor, but I don’t listen to God. I don’t want to listen to what, I don’t want to read the word. I just want the pastor tell me what it says, And you’re never going to grow. You’re never going to grow. And possibly don’t ever know Christ, if that’s your attitude, that book was given to us as the word of God that Jesus said, My Word is truth, and abide in my word. And my word abides in you, and you will grow in grace and in your knowledge of the love of God. And there’s no substitute for getting into the Word of God.” ~ Bob George
