The Holy Spirit Comes to Live in You Immediately When You Are Born Again

~ There are some people today that believe and teach they get the Holy Spirit sometime later after they are born again. The misunderstanding in that they don’t understand what being born again is in the first place, and also a misunderstanding of being baptist with the Spirit of God, of being placed into the body of Christ Jesus when a person is born again of the Spirit of God.

~ “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” ^{Romans 8:9}

~ “You cannot be born again, unless you’re born again of the Spirit, can you in other words, you must be born of the Spirit of God. And the scripture says, If the Spirit of God does not live in you, you don’t belong to Him. So how does the Spirit of God come to live within you with the Spirit of God indwells you at the time that you receive Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior? It happens at spiritual birth, unless you’re born to the water that’s, that’s physical birth, and the spirit that spiritual birth, you cannot enter the kingdom of God. And so how could you be a born again believer if the Spirit of God doesn’t live in you? So how in the world if that is true, which it is true? How in the world do people get away with saying what you’re born again today, but you have to receive the Spirit tomorrow. That is nonsense. And it is non biblical. That’s why I call it nonsense. It’s non biblical. It’s an impossibility of logic. If you’re born again, you’re born again of the Spirit. And if you’re born again of the Spirit, and the Spirit of God lives in you, then you don’t go get the Spirit later. And if you can’t figure that out logically, why then something’s wrong with your logic. Because you can’t go get what you got, can you? No, not at all? No, not at all. So so when you’re born again, the Spirit of God comes to live within you. And then it says, The Spirit of God baptizes or places you into the body of Christ. So the Christ in you, that’s Christ living in you. And then you living in him is the work of the Spirit placing you into his body. That’s why we’re called the body of Christ. That’s why Paul deals with that, that we’re all a part of the same body, we all have different functions. And every part is not to do all the other parts. If you’re a finger, you’re not called to be a toe your finger, so be be the finger that are called you to be see. And all of that is as a result of being placed into his body. All of that takes place at spiritual baptism. It’s not a water baptism. It’s a spiritual baptism. And baptism means being placed into something. And what we’re placed into is the body of Christ. So it is an absolute in to say somebody come and receive the Spirit. You may as well give an altar call for salvation because we don’t have the Spirit then you do need to go receive Jesus and you’ll get the Spirit, but you don’t go to get the Spirit. No place in the Bible going and getting the Spirit.” ~ Bob George
