Jesus Died For The Sins of the Whole World ~ You are Forgiven!

~ There are people that say, Jesus only died for the elect, or Jesus didn’t really die for the sins of the whole world, just a small segment of the world. This type of teaching comes out of Calvinism and Reformed theology. The problem with this teaching is that no one can say to another person, “Jesus died for your sins” because in their mind they don’t know if Jesus really died for them or not. And in essence, if Jesus didn’t die for everyone, then His word of God is a lie, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” [John 6:47] And the word of God saying, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” [John 3:16] Those statements by Jesus would be nothing but big fat lies, because the offer is null and void if a person couldn’t believe based on pre-assigned election or not election by God. And this type of teaching is not just found in legalistic churches either, but it is also found in what people think are grace teaching churches. They don’t believe that Jesus died for everyone’s sins. And get this, these false pastors and teachers will refer to people that do teach the Truth, “God forgave the sins of the whole world,” as charlatans. The very people that are the actual deceivers are calling the word of God Truth tellers, “charlatans.”

And why would a person call into a radio show to argue over these points if they really believe that God decides who the elect are based on some sort of robot programming by God? After all, why argue over something that the person obviously believes that God picks and chooses who he is going to save and who he is not going to be saved? And their arguing over that isn’t going to change God’s election or non-election on anyone. What does it matter to them? Why waste the time, because after all, in their mind, God has already picked the winners and the losers? It seems as if they call in trying to justify themselves in their wrong thinking. Listen closely to today’s program, and you will hear just that.

The bottom line today, most people are not listening to the word of God and the Holy Spirit the teacher of all truth. They are listening to the teaching of men and what their itching ears want to hear. They read the word of God and don’t have a clue what it means. They refuse to place faith in what Jesus did on the cross. And quite frankly there is real doubt that many of these people are even saved.

JESUS DIED…
1. For all (1st Timothy 2:6; Isaiah 53:6).
2. For every man (Hebrews 2:9).
3. For the world (John 3:16).
4. For the sins of the whole world (1st John 2:2).
5. For the ungodly (Romans 5:6).
6. For false teachers (2nd Peter 2:1).
7. For many (Matthew 20:28).

Jesus Died For Me: ” I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” ^{Galatians 2:20}

~ “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” ^{1 John 2:22}
~ So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: a The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.^{2 Corinthians 5:16-21}

~ “Well, Todd is, you will know the term of irresistible grace or irresistible grace is taught in the Reformed theology or hyper Calvinistic theology, which has a lot of good points to it. But at that particular point, obviously, Grace isn’t irresistible or, or Jesus was full of grace, and why did people resist the message of Christ Jesus. And so to say that something is irresistible, really doesn’t make any sense at all. Nor is it taught in the Scripture. We do as many as received him, he gave the right to become a child of God, that means some are going to, and some are not. What has taken place Todd is, is in that theology. It started with a premise that was off to begin with, and had the premise was off in regard to salvation. Someplace down the line, the thought of Calvin or his followers, I don’t know, which was that salvation is getting your sins forgiven. And so if that’s what salvation is, then you have to deal with passages such as God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not counting their sins against them, that he not only died for our sins, but the sins of the whole world. And all of the passages dealing with the fact that Jesus took away the sins of the entire world. Well, if that’s true, and if salvation is getting your sins forgiven, and that’s what salvation is, you’d have to conclude that universal salvation, which certainly, the Calvinist did not believe in, nor do you, and I believe in that some people are teaching that today. But it’s totally erroneous. There’s no such thing as universal salvation. So they had to come up with something to answer that question. What they came up with is God just died for the elect. And so it couldn’t be that he died for the sins of the whole world. He just died for the elect. So then, if he just died for the elect, then someone had to do the election. And that means that God had to elect a group of people for salvation, and then elect another group to rot in hell and to be punished eternally in hell. And you say, what kind of a god do you have? Who would think that God would just choose you, you have no choice? I’ve chose you to rot in hell and to burn in hell for eternity. Because I don’t know why maybe I don’t like you. And I do not understand how a person with their mind in their head can grab a hold of that.

Because I want you to comment based not upon what some theologian said, but what I’m talking about out of the Scripture. And so the the whole concept got thrown off with the belief that you are saved by getting your sins forgiven, nothing could be farther from the truth. Forgiveness does not bring salvation. Life brings salvation and that’s why Roman says while we were yet enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his son. That means when you were lost, you were reconciled to God through the death of his son How much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved by His life, you’re not saved by the death of Christ, you’re saved for the life of Christ. You’re saved from the consequence of sin, which is death by the gift of God, which is life. And that Todd is precisely why the Apostle Paul said that without the resurrection were to be pitied of all people and are still in our sins, knowing full well that across it occurred where Jesus took away the sins of the world, and yet was able to say, without the resurrection, we’re still in our sins. And so that forgiveness that was provided for the entire world, that is true forgiveness was for the whole world. But that forgiveness that was provided is only received in the resurrected life of Christ Jesus, because there’s a problem deeper than sin. It’s called the repercussion of sin, which is death. And death has to be cured by life, not by forgiveness. But in order to give us eternal life, the Cross had to be eternal. In consequence, the cross was an eternal function, where the sins of the world eternity was taken away at the cross so that having raised from the dead, he could offer you and me eternal life in Christ Jesus. And so with that premise, being off, all of this doctrine had to come up, taking away the will of man, calling Grace irresistible, saying that men do not have a choice. And all of these things, taking sovereignty to a level that the Bible does not take sovereignty, because the sovereignty of God is what gave man a will to choose. That’s part of his sovereignty. It was God’s will that none should perish and all should come to repentance. Well, if his grace is sovereign, then that means universal salvation, it was his will, that none should perish all, should come to repentance, so what universal can’t have that. And so what we have to realize, Todd is that when the premises off, your findings are going to be off, and that’s where that went off, that’s the foundation of where that teaching went off. And because of that, we’ve got to come up with irresistible grace, which is not in the Scripture, it is it is resisted, it is resistible you’ve had to come up with no ill will no choice. And you and I know every day that we make choices, you have to make man as a robot, instead of a person who has the right to choose. There was certainly a gamble on God’s part by giving man a will because we could choose not to follow him, but the opposite but the opposite of that is to make robots out of us. So what I wanted to do Todd was to explain the foundation as to why that teaching went off, and why it is not applicable to the Scripture today.” ~ Bob George
