On this episode of Classic Christianity Radio, Bob George welcomes listeners to a thoughtful conversation centered on faith in everyday life. Through callers’ questions about forgiveness, bitterness, God’s love, serving others, and parenting, Bob shares biblical perspectives and encouragement rooted in the message of Christ.

Ted Cole called after returning home from serving in Iraq with the National Guard. He thanked listeners for supporting the shipment of Classic Christianity books, study guides, and Victory Over Depression books. He said the materials had been well received and that a Bible study was continuing there; Bob encouraged him to stay in touch about possible additional support.

Sandra asked about sudden, recurring feelings of bitterness despite having worked through forgiveness before. Bob said those moments can reveal lingering bitterness and advised her to let go of the offense, remember her forgiveness in Christ, and pray for the person involved rather than dwell on the hurt.

John asked how Jesus’ teaching about forgiving others relates to the New Testament message of God’s forgiveness. Bob explained his view that the Lord’s Prayer reflects the Old Covenant, while under the New Covenant believers are forgiven through Christ and are to forgive others as Christ forgave them. John connected this to his work ministering to inmates, for whom forgiveness is a major concern.

Mike asked whether someone can sell their soul for fame or wealth and shared that he wanted to become more loving. Bob said he did not see a literal sale of the soul described in Scripture, but spoke about people giving themselves over to satan’s influence. He emphasized that God’s love comes first and that people respond to it, allowing God’s love to flow through them to others.

Donna sought advice about her 18-year-old son, a college freshman, whose choices worried her. Bob encouraged her to speak with him honestly as a supportive friend rather than treating him as a child to discipline. He advised expressing concern about the consequences of destructive choices while continuing to show him love and reminding him that he has a place to turn for support.
