Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P688 (11-12-21)
Faith in the Jesus of the Bible is Key to Salvation
Jesus lives inside the person immediately when they place faith in Jesus. Jesus will never leave a person no matter what. Nothing can separate a person from God. People think that people have to repent of all of their sins before God will give them eternal life. But the truth of the matter is that no one has ever repented of all of their sins. Repentance is such a strong word that people don’t even understand what it means. Repentance is coming to a totally change of mind in our belief system of Jesus.
When people “change their mind” God gives a person a new heart. They are a new creature in Christ Jesus.
Let’s join Bob as he answers questions from listeners all over the country.
Tony from Pittsburgh PA called about the sin of unbelief.
1 John 5: 16-17
16 If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.
Jim called from Little Falls NY called about faith, hope and love.
Many people erroneously believe is something more than faith alone for salvation. They believe in a man-made works based system of salvation. You’re saved by faith in Jesus alone. However, it is not faith that save us. Faith can be misplaced. Someone can have faith in the world or their religious system to save them. That’s faith, but it is a misplaced faith. Saving faith must be in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Faith must be in the Jesus of the bible for salvation. It’s not Jesus plus something else.
1 Corinthians 13:13
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Mike called from Porterville CA called about selling their soul. Satan offered Jesus the world and all kinds of things. Satan offers things to people in the world. There are people that have sold out to the devil. These people have denied Christ.
It’s important to note that Satan has people under his control until a person comes to accept Jesus as their savior. When we come out of Satan’s control is when we respond to the Love of God. We don’t cause God to do something. Jesus is the initiator and we are responders. We respond to his drawing us to Him. We respond to God’s love for us and to us and through us.
32And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
Marta called from Napa California about some pastors that teach people are being selectively chosen by God for salvation. Bob explains to her that salvation is through faith in Jesus. God doesn’t pre-pick winners and losers.
Jeff called from New Orleans LA about a person being born again and wanted to know if a person can loose eternal salvation. The bottom line is no. Eternal life is eternal. When eternal life is given, it is eternal. If someone could lose eternal salvation then it would not be eternal. Jesus took care of the sin issue on the cross, so that he could offer us His eternal resurrected life in Him. No one that has received the life of Jesus in them could lose eternal life. For if they could lose it, then it would not be eternal.
