Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P793 (12-09-22)

A Scriptural Journey to Discover the Grace of God ~ Bible Study

~ Well, I’ll tell you, Ted, there’s a lot of things that you can do. In a study like that. The thing of it is, I don’t know the maturity of the people that you’re talking about. Whenever I’ve gotten in with a group, I start right at the beginning, because I’m not going to assume anything. We have a book called “A Scriptural Journey to Discover the Grace of God.” And basically it is dealing with eight lessons. That, to me, are the foundation of the Christian life. Actually, these are eight lessons. And they’re foundational, and if you do not have a solid foundation, it doesn’t matter if a difference where you’re teaching the book study, you’re not you’re not going to grab it because you can go through a book study and still not get a hold of the truth of some of these foundational truths, law and grace. You can go through a study and study their book of Romans and still not understand whether you’re under the law, whether you’re not. And so these kinds of books force you to look up the scriptures, as all it is in Scripture, to look up the scriptures and to let the word of God, minister to your hearts. First lesson is dealing with Jesus as the foundation for life and a passage all the different passages dealing with the deity of Christ. And on and on, I would if I was starting a Bible study, that’s exactly where I’d start, I’d started this book, and I would go through it to those foundational truths are established.

Listen in as Bob shares out the word of the God with callin listeners on the air answering questions that are just as pertinent for today as they were yesterday.

Let’s go out to Houston and talk to Mark listening on KCTA Mark, you’re on the air with Bob George.

Caller 1 0:53
Hello. On the book of Romans chapter six, verse three and four, I was trying to explain to our co workers that while baptism is not essential for salvation we do because we’re saved, not to get saved, but they use Romans six, three, verse three and four. If we were baptized into death, that’s one of the that’s a spiritual baptism not for water.

Bob George 1:22
Right? Yeah, didn’t Jesus say that John the Baptist baptized with water, but in a few days, you’ll be baptized with the Holy Spirit. ??? And we absolutely ignored that and continue to deal with water baptism rather than spiritual baptism. So in a few days, why they were baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ. To use the book of Romans to try to substantiate lack of salvation or losing salvation is ludicrous. Meaning that a person is not reading the whole book they’re just deriving some passages that they don’t know what they mean, and then misinterpreting them. But anyone who was baptized into Christ, that spiritual baptize, were baptized into his death. We were therefore baptized with him to baptize him to death in order that Jesus Christ is raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we may live a new life water baptism, can’t give you a new life. So again, it’s just a misinterpretation there, Mark, that people are getting into. Mark that I think what you have to do with people who teach who want to believe that you to lose your salvation. Number one, you have to really want to believe that because there’s no evidence of it, do not understand what salvation is.

And again, in light of repetition, but evidently you have to keep repeating, because people don’t get it the first time. But in lieu it to take the repetition of this, that salvation is being saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is Life, The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. I came, Jesus said that you might have life What do you need life for? Because you’re dead spiritually. I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. What do you need life for? Because we’re born dead spiritually. He who has the Son has life, what do you need life for? Because you’re dead spiritually. So the whole issue of salvation is life and death. There’s a consequence to sin, called death. People who never get away from the sinning issue, never get away from the cross, continually dealing with forgiveness. When Jesus said, I had to finish forgiveness, I had to deal with the forgiveness issue for all mankind once and for all, in order to give and to offer eternal life to the spiritually dead. And so, the cross does not produce life, the cross cannot produce life. The only thing that cross could do was take away from the eyes of God our sin, which is what he did there, He who knew no sin became sin, so that we could become the righteousness of God in him. Having accomplished that eternally, Mark, eternally. That’s an eternal event. That man will not let go of in other words been today still trying to keep themselves forgiving, are spitting right in the face of Christ Jesus, saying, You are a liar, saying your death was not sufficient. You did not take away the sins of the world. You only took away some of them. And quite frankly, I’m not so sure you took them away. I think you covered them like the blood, like the blood of a bull and goat is insulting to through the work of Christ Jesus, what the Christian world has done with the cross. The cross was a final act. It was Then once it was done for all, and it was cried out from the cross, It is finished it is paid in full, not paid in part, paid in full. When something is paid in full, there’s nothing else to pay for.

Precisely why it says when Jesus comes back, which evangelicals say he is but act as if he isn’t. He’s not coming back to bear sin. Well, why in the world isn’t he coming back to bear sin, there’s been a lot of sin take place since the cross? Because he took upon himself the sins of the world forward to eternity back to Adam, and said, paid in full. And so that event was an eternal event Mark that had to take place in order to deal with the real issue of life to the spiritually dead, I came at you might have life. Now have been in as much as sin is what caused spiritual death, had he not dealt eternally, totally with sin, which caused death, and then came and gave us spiritual life, the next time we sin, we would die. And it’d be like a Dracula theology, dead today alive tomorrow. Therefore, people who teach you can lose your salvation do not know what salvation is, and in many cases probably have never been saved, because they’ve never put their faith in the completion of the work of Christ. Christ didn’t come to die for some sins, period, that Jesus does not exist. And yet we act as if it does say he saved me. No, that Jesus didn’t save anybody. There is no Jesus that died for some sins. The Jesus of the Bible died for all sins, for all back, all time. And for all men, that’s the one you put your faith in. That other one doesn’t exist, Mark. So it’s a it’s a straw man that we have built. And then we say I came to the straw men for salvation. I’m sorry, straw men don’t give salvation. The real man gave salvation. And the real man didn’t die for some sins, He died for all of them. And he took them away from the eyes of God, never to see them again, period, in order to, through His resurrected life now provide the solution to the wages of sin which is death, by His resurrected life I came that you might have life. When you understand the divine logic of that Mark, there is no way in the world for a person to say you can lose your salvation. It’s an impossibility from God’s standpoint.

Caller 1 7:37
Yes, in my culture, water baptism to the Salvation process, which is incorrect.

Bob George 7:44
It says in the Bible, this is the gospel that saves you death, burial and resurrection. There’s no water baptism, no water baptism in there. And whatever mark you add to death, burial and resurrection, that becomes your focal point. If it’s death, burial, and resurrection, in tongues, all you talk about tongues, if it’s death, burial, and resurrection and baptism, it’s all you talk about baptism is his deathbed and resurrection and worshipping on Saturday rather than Sunday. That’s all you talk about. If it’s death, burial and resurrection and trying to become a Jew. That’s all you talk about. And the issue is none of those things are true. It’s death, burial and resurrection period, end of story. And when you don’t put your faith in the finality of that you are not saved, you cannot add to the Gospel, you must accept it precisely as it is, precisely as God laid it out there. period and you do not add or subtract one iota from it.

All right, my brother. Okay, and if you want to get a tape of this and play it to your friend and lose him, that’s fine. Please go ahead and do so. But a person. Okay, good. He needs to hear what said because he is on dangerous, dangerous ground, he is added to the gospel, and you cannot add to the gospel and be saved period.

And he says, Acts 2:38.

Forget Acts 2:38. We just got through with the totality of salvation, not a scripture verse. You don’t take Gospel out of the book of Acts. Another mistake he’s making. Mark, you just got to keep dealing with it. Or I’ll shake the dust off your shoes and move on because a person that is tenaciously rebelling against truth either does not have truth in him or he is rebelling against it. It says so in the Bible in ever you are continuous sinning against the knowledge of truth. That man has now heard the knowledge of truth, he said to continue sinning against the knowledge of truth that he’s just heard here. The only thing you have to look forward to is the raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. That is direct from the Bible. It’s not from Bob George. I wish that wasn’t there, but it is. And I’m going to continue You proclaiming it. Okay brother. God bless.

Let’s go to Nashville, Tennessee listening on WNQM Jimmy, you’re on the air.

Caller 2 10:11
How you doing? Bob’s doing? Good, Jimmy. Thank you. Bob, the question I have, I’m sort of confused, as well, one of you can set a lot on this for me, I was reading the Bible the other day. And it’s in Matthews, I’m not sure what the chapter and verse is, but it was talking about, you know, two women grinding at the mill, one would be taken the other left and two men be working in the fields. Why don’t we take another left is that dealing with a voucher is that dealing with the millennial kingdo.

Bob George 10:45
Dealing with the rapture, Jimmy, that’s what happens at the rapture is, and it says, we don’t know what the time of that is. But there is going to come a time when in a split second, so to speak, that the believers are going to be taken out of this earth, the ones who are believers at the time of this event taking place will be taken out of this earth and meet the Lord in the air. Now, that’s not Jesus returning to this earth, that’s the second coming when he comes back to this earth, meeting him in the clouds is the rapture, it’s not the second coming of Christ. Okay, and so and again, whether or not and and, you know, again, that’s it’s controversial, I’m sure, but But I, I’m not 100% sure it as much as the Bible very clearly says that flesh and blood is never going to inherit the kingdom of God, that he’s going to have to do something with his flesh and blood of ours called our body before it is in His presence. So that either means that there’s going to have to be some miraculous transformation of this body while we’re on our way there in a split second, or that we’re the ones that are going to be left here. And our spirits are going to go into the presence of God just like someone who died, leaving a whole bunch of bodies for the loss to bury, and for the Antichrist to be able to say, See, I told you, that’s the this is the judgment of God upon all these troublemaking Christians, have no idea for sure which way that goes. But either way, we’re not going to be here. At the at the point of the rapture, those of us who have come to Christ prior to that event and have died, are already in the presence of Jesus, and we will come back with him at that event.

Caller 2 12:40
Yeah, cuz I’ve heard it, explain. You know, I said, I’ve heard explain two ways I’ve heard he was playing on the rapture incidents, that we’re going to be gone. And then on site, people are gonna be left behind. And that’s when Jesus comes back to set up His kingdom, we’re gonna be here, but the unsaved people is gonna be gone. Because in, and the New Kingdom, no, sin is allowed. So that means that, you know, the unsaved people won’t be there. But we will be there. I’ve just, I’ve heard no, it’s playing both ways. But I guess.

Bob George 13:14
You have to study it on your own Jimmy and see if you can get some wisdom from the Word of God and because again, otherwise, it’s it’s something that you believe based upon what you’ve been merely told by man. And I think what God wants you to do is to be told by him, and so I just keep studying those subjects, and asking God to reveal to you the meaning of the individual passages you’re dealing with and see if he doesn’t give you insight into them.

Caller 2 13:40
Okay, well, thanks a lot Bob. Like always joy you program it inside that you give us thanks a lot.

Bob George 13:46
Thanks so much, my friend. Okay. Bye bye now.

Let’s go to Davenport Florida. Listening on WEUS Susan, you’re on the air.

Caller 3 14:28
Hi, thank you for taking my call. I listen to you every day and I appreciate you show. I have a question and then I want to hang up because I’m driving and I don’t like driving while I’m talking. I wanted to know I understand what you’re saying about not losing salvation and being saved. But when we pray if we don’t pray for forgiveness, Are we just supposed to pray for you know world peace or other people in the world? I’m not sure what was what be praying for.

Bob George 14:59
Susan, let me know ask you a question. Do you still sin as a Christian?

Caller 3 15:04
Of course I do. I mean.

Bob George 15:06
Now what did hold on a minute, I want you to follow the logic. This is this is why I get so irritated people will not stop talking long enough to get the logic of something. There’s divine logic that God gave us. Now, you still sin as a Christian? What did God do with that sin? Susan?

Caller 3 15:24
Well, he forgave it.

Bob George 15:26
Okay. Did he forgive it? Or did he forgive it? Because you asked him? Or did he take it away at the cross when He said it’s finished? Paid in full? Did he be paid in part? Or did he mean paid in full? And when he said it’s,

Caller 3 15:45
I believe he meant it to be paid in full.

Bob George 15:49
Absolutely. Now, if that sin that you just committed has been paid in full already, it isn’t. It’s going to be it is paid for what is the only intelligent thing if you’re going to walk by faith that you can say to God?

Caller 3 16:04
Thank you for forgiving, absolutely. Okay. Okay.

Bob George 16:08
So did you see how simple this is? And why the Christian world absolutely cannot see the simplicity of it.

Caller 3 16:15
Because I was confused myself. It’s like, Well, I understand what you’re saying, but I wasn’t really comprehending how to do it. I guess.

Bob George 16:24
I understand that. But you see, it is so simple, because what God is saying, I want you to walk by faith, Susan. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. And I want you to walk by faith. So he says, and you can’t walk by faith in thinking, I’m gonna do something to cause me God to respond to you. I didn’t respond to you when I died for you 2000 years, I initiated that, and you respond to me. And so when you sin, you have to the first thought has to be what did God do with that sin? And you’ve already answered that, he could have put the bodies back, never see it again. And he said, it’s been forgiven. Well, then what is my response? It’s so simple as a nose on her face. Thank you, Lord. Thank You, Lord, for what you did for me. And I also,

Caller 3 17:11
I’m sorry, go ahead.

Bob George 17:13
I also wanted that the root of all sin, I don’t care what it is, is unbelief. We’ve We’ve stopped trusting Jesus. So what then do we ask God to do is Lord Jesus, the reason I did what I did is I’ve stopped trusting you. I want you to continue working with me and teaching me and teaching me why and how to trust you more. There’s my prayer.

Caller 3 17:33
Yeah, okay. Okay. That’s, I understand that, but how I actually thought when he said at the when he was crucified, and he said, It is finished, I thought he meant his life.

Bob George 17:46
No, what did he get? No, he didn’t go there to die. He came there to die for sins. He didn’t go to the cross to die. He died. He came went to the cross to be a sacrifice for my sins.

Caller 3 17:58
Okay. Okay. That makes sense. Okay. Thank you very much.

Bob George 18:03
Are you gonna Are you gonna now live with with joy in your heart?

Caller 3 18:07
Well, I find it a little easier.

Bob George 18:09
Absolutely. Absolutely. That’s what it produces joy.

Caller 3 18:13
Yes, it does.

Bob George 18:14
Take Okay, Susan. God bless you. Stay in you stay in touch. Okay. Thank you. Okay. Bye bye now.

Let’s go to Washington, DC. Let’s go on WFAX, Lawrence, you’re on the air.

Caller 4 18:28
Hello, this is Hi, Lawrence. This is my first time listen to your show. I have a question. When Peter James and John was with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration, I want to know how did the disciples know that it was, I mean, it was Moses and Elijah?

Bob George 18:55
Well, it doesn’t say does it? No, it doesn’t. And so it would have been it would either been that God just gave him the ability to know that who they were or that Jesus revealed that to them. But when it doesn’t say you just kind of have to leave it there and realize in some way they recognized the people might have been through what was said we don’t know. And because we don’t know we really don’t have to but it could have also been that Jesus revealed this is who that this is who was there so we don’t know for sure. When it’s not revealed Lawrence, you just have to leave it there.

Caller 4 19:32
Well, thank you a lot.

Bob George 19:34
Okay, brother. Okay.

It’d be more help to you on that. It just how much question I’m curious about Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Well, that curiosity keeps you in the Bible, my friend. So yeah, don’t ever don’t ever let that stop. Okay, thanks.

We’re gonna go to Nashville, Tennessee. Listening on. WNQM, Glennis you’re on the air.

Caller 5 19:54
Hey, Bob. How you doing?

Bob George 19:56
Doing good. Glennis Thank you.

Caller 5 19:59
Bob, I want to ask the question, is there a difference between the old man and flesh? Or are they the same? And the next question is what happens to the old man when a person is born again?

Bob George 20:10
That’s the old man was Bob George without the Spirit of God living in him. That was who that was my identity the old man. So some people call me the old man right now just because of my age but. But that was the that was Bob George without the Spirit of God living in me. Who am I today? Bob George with the Spirit of God living in it’s a brand new identity called a child of the living God, I wasn’t a child of God prior to being born again. When I was born again, I’m now in indwelt with a Spirit of God, the old man, Bob, Georgia that the Spirit of God live again was dead. That guy’s gone, thank God. And now I’m a new creation, I’m called a saint, didn’t deserve to be called a saint. Certainly don’t act like a saint all the time. But God has referred to me now as a child of God. And as a saint, it’s a new identity. Now, the flesh is what is left behind in our humanity. And we now have the ability to participate we’re told in the divine nature that lives in us. So I have one identity Glennis one identity, I’m a child of the living God, period. Don’t let anyone ever get you off of that. That old man, the old Glennis is dead. You’re a child of the living God, one identity, but you have flesh that is in opposition to the Spirit now that lives in you. what made you a new creation was spiritual birth, if any man be in Christ now he’s that new creation. Old things are passed away, behold, all things become new. So now you’ve got the conflict between the flesh and the Spirit. I quite frankly, believe that I’ve asked God many times, why did you leave us with this yucky flesh? And the answer that I have finally come to out of the Word of God. And part of it is how Paul says rejoice in our weakness is if it were not for my flesh, and seeing what my yucky flesh is like, I’d probably forget Jesus in a minute. And so it’s the same thing if I didn’t have any weaknesses, if I was just all strength, why would have I’d be so cocky with Bob George thinking about how wonderful he was. And I could just hardly help from kissing my hand every day, just just to show my love for me. So, so God did that for a purpose of the day. I don’t have two identities. I have one identity, but I’ve got flesh and I have Spirit living in me and those two are in conflict with each other and will be in conflict until the day we die.

Caller 5 22:52
Okay, so we don’t have an old nature. The old good old man is old nature.

Bob George 22:59
No man is an old nature and he’s gone.

Caller 5 23:01
Okay. Okay. Well, thanks. Thanks.

Bob George 23:05
All right, Glennis. That’s something to be thankful for it yesterday. I guarantee you. Alright. So hope that helps. Okay, bye. Bye.

We’re gonna go to Indianapolis, Indiana listening on WBRI Ted, you’re on the air.

Caller 6 23:24
Hey, good afternoon, fellows

Bob George 23:26
Hi, doing good, Ted. Thank you.

Caller 6 23:30
Okay. My question is, I’m in a men’s Bible study group. I’ve got to find some scripture that has to deal with. And I know you probably laugh about this. It has to deal with everyday life. And I was just trying to take what would be the best book to go to Romans or something like that? You know, to do.

Bob George 24:03
Are you doing a book study at this time Ted? Or what?

Caller 6 24:07
Yeah, something like that. Yeah.

Bob George 24:10
Well, I’ll tell you, Ted, there’s a lot of things that you can do.

Caller 6 25:33
Does sound like a good idea.

Bob George 25:36
I’ll be more than happy Ted to put you on hold and let the operator give you the information on how to pick those books up. And you might want to get one and look it over and then go ahead and introduce it. That is what I introduced to anybody that I know, I carry this book with me, just in the event that I need it. And when I’m doing a Bible study, or if I’m doing a Bible study, that’s what I’m going to teach out there. Because, like I say, if those foundational truths are not established, doesn’t make any difference what you teach, you’re not going to get it. So Ted, I’ll put you on hold brother and let our operator give you some information on that. I hope you do that. And if we can be of any help to you let us know. Okay.

Caller 6 26:17
Yeah. You know, someone told me, I know, the Lord was probably speaking to me, said give People to People call they’ll guide you in the right way.

Bob George 26:30
Well, I hope we hope we’ve done that Ted.

Caller 6 26:33
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

Bob George 26:35
Well, brother gave all our friends in that town, our law our love, okay.

Caller 6 26:39
God bless you.

Bob George 26:40
You too, Ted. Same to you. You hang on now. We’re gonna put you on hold. Thanks Ted Okay. Bye bye.
