The Life of Jesus is Our Comfort and Peace

~ Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit, the one that would teach us all things and our advocate, and the very Life of Jesus. And that happened on the day of Pentecost, and on the very day that we placed faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit came to indwell us too. He is our Comforter. He is our Advocate. He is our Peace that lives inside of us. He is our Eternal Life. We tend to forget that God is living in His temple today (the body of every believer is the temple of God). He is always there to comfort us no matter what we are going through. He will be right there with us through the storms of life. So stand firm on Jesus, who is our everything. Point people to Jesus, not to a particular verse of the bible. Many times people will camp out in the Old Covenant, and will forget which side of the cross they are actually living on today.

~ “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ^{John 14:25-27}

~ “I wouldn’t recommend a Bible verse to comfort you. I’d however would recommend Jesus to comfort. He said, Come on to me. And I’ll give you rest and peace for your soul. If you want peace, you have to come unto Jesus, you don’t come into a Bible verse. In other words, in other words, Betty, we have a lot of that going on in Christianity today where people are cherry picking through the scriptures and all this verse means this and this verse helps my business grows I’m going to use that now. It’s Old Covenant, but that’s okay. It’s going to help my business and so we pull Old Testament verses out and we’re not living under the old. You know, I can’t get get that Cross enough, we’re not under the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant was gone at the day that Christ Jesus died having fulfilled the law with his life and upholding the law with his death, and ushering in the covenant of grace in which their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more. And were these have been forgiven. There’s no longer any sacrifice for sins. It’s over. It’s done. It’s finished. Grest now, in the Sabbath rest that have called you to, so with with what you’re going through with your divorce, and your husband is trusting Jesus Christ, and he’s going to be your husband, if that occurs, you’re going to have a new husband, it’s going to be Jesus, and Christ will carry you through this. It’s not pleasant. It shouldn’t have happened. It’s not of God, but it has happened. And God’s promised you one thing Betty, I will cause all things to work together for your good, to those who love you and are called according to his purpose. He didn’t say I’m gonna make bad good. No, he said, I’m gonna cause it to work together for your good and he will do that Betty.” ~ Bob George
