Salvation is Eternal Life

~ The sin that so easily entangles is unbelief in the finished work of the cross. No matter where you go, the lies of Satan are taught to make you think that you need more forgiveness by God. The sin of unbelief is easy to entangle a person. A person focuses on what man says instead of the teaching of God. And Satan, through his agents will make salvation mean something completely different. People then become hooked on the idea that a person can lose something based on their own works or lack of works of righteousness. But we always need to back up to the truth of the word of God. Don’t let anyone knock you out of the race. Jesus is the perfector of our faith, NOT man, and certainly not yourself. It’s time to set the record straight in your mind, and get rid of the stuff that hinders you. Stop listening to Satan’s agents. Stop listening to what the world tells you is good. For all of that stuff has been inverted, and what is good is called evil and what is evil is called good. Don’t place any pastor on a pedestal, but listen only to what the Holy Spirit teaches you as Truth. For any pastor could be teaching error, knowingly or unknowingly, but the Spirit of God will ALWAYS teach TRUTH.

~ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. ^{Hebrews 12:1-3}

~ “Again, we don’t need to go into all that, Tony, if a person is teaching. As I’ve said before, if a person is teaching that you can lose your salvation, they do not know what salvation is. And there certainly is a possibility that they don’t possess salvation. In the first place, as we’ve talked about 100 of times, that salvation is the receiving of life. It is the life of Christ Jesus that saves us. What kind of life did he offer to us? Temporal life, or eternal life, conditional life or unconditional life? We all know the answer to that to eternal life is eternal. When does it begin? The minute you have the Son, he who has the Son has life, he does not have the Son of God does not have live these things. You said, I’ve written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know, not hope so are keep your fingers crossed, but know that you have eternal life. Now, the reason that we have eternal life given to us, we didn’t earn it, we can’t work for it. It’s a gift called grace. And the reason that he could now offer on this side of the cross eternal life is because of the eternal consequence of the cross, where he took away the cause of death, which was sin. And he took it away from the eyes of God, never to see it again. So that now that those sins of ours having been judged at the cross, the verdict was guilty, the punishment was death. And Jesus took it all. And that’s why there’s none left for you. Because of the eternal consequence of the cross. He is now able to offer us eternal life. Had he forgotten one at the cross, and gave you eternal life. And you committed that sin, that the wages of sin is death, and you would have died again. And that therefore you would have never been given eternal life if there was a possibility of you’re committing a sin that was not covered at the cross. And so a person who says you can lose salvation is a denying the totality of the cross. That’s number one, denying the totality of the cross and denying the kind of life that God gave us which is called eternal life. Now you tell me that a person that lives and preaches the denial of the completeness of the cross and preaches that the resurrection has no meaning and salvation is saved. And I’ll say to you, Tony, unfortunately, you don’t know what salvation is. And so that’s the problem, Tony, is, is a total misunderstanding of salvation. So when you’re talking about what you’re correct on this, we’re surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. Let’s throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and run with perseverance, the race marked out for us. Now, if you want to talk about running the race and have perseverance and what perseverance does James go to James, it covers that Consider it joy, my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance, and perseverance must finish its work so that you may want to be mature and complete. So trials and tribulation is what develops perseverance. You don’t need to persevere with God when, you know I, you know, I just got to $100,000 Order commission, so that I could drive my Rolls Royce down to this to the governor’s office in Austin and have a little lunch with him and drive back I’m persevering with you lord. Trials create perseverance, not good times. And so he’s saying, when you develop bad times, which you’re all going to in this world, you’re going to have tribulation, that you hang in there, finish the race, as as Paul put in another place. So you hear those words well done. good and faithful servant, if you want to mature in Christ, you’re going to have tribulation, and you’re going to face those, you’re not going to crumble under them. And so in verse 12, it says, Blessed it is a man who perseveres under trial for when he stood the test, who received the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. Well, again, what’s the crown of life? We don’t know. It’s not life. It’s not eternal life. He didn’t say you’ll receive eternal life but a crown. And what a crown of life is, is to me according the context is, you finished the race. And so you’re right on that, oh, that what the passage there that the sin that so easily hinders us is the tendency to lean on our own understanding, and not acknowledge him. And for not allow him to direct our paths. Why would it go ahead and verse to just to tell you fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith who for the joy set before him endured the cross and scorned and shame and sat down with the right hand, of, of God, so consider him who endured back to the James endured such opposition from sinful man, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. When you do what? Endure opposition from sinful man. It keep keep on trusting. And so it’s strange to me, Tony, in how these people in the first place, I don’t believe that a woman should be up in a place of leadership. If her husband is there, God didn’t call both of them. If the husband is the head of the church, he’s the head of the church. And if he is, I don’t think she should be up there acting as the head of the church. So I don’t think they’re doing a biblical thing there as well. But it’s not a church, I’d want to go to.” ~ Bob George
